"Watch out!"

He heard the voice call out but it was too late.  His foot slipped and he fell over the edge.  He screamed in terror until he felt arms encircling his small form.

"Don't be scared," he heard a voice whisper.  "You're going to be okay."

He shut his eyes tight, wanting it to end quickly.

There was a loud crash and the sound of bones breaking. 

He was no longer falling.  He had landed.  An unexpected soft landing.

He slowly opened his eyes to discover that he was wrapped in someone's arms.  He sat up and looked down at the figure he was lying on top of.  His eyes widened in horror.  There was so much blood.

And then he screamed.
