K-Pop Audition/Trainee Questions

Be prepared to have plastic surgery done. There has been some sort of connotation with plastic surgery these days where it has been generally been defined as something that you could see quite clearly. In all actuality, the best plastic surgery are the ones that can be brushed off as simple "growing up." Take the example of Goo Hara. She doesn't look different from her childhood days -- almost all of her changes could be the result of growing up/well. However, she admitted that she had her eyelids, nose, and mouth done! It is important to note that plastic surgery is rampant in South Korea, even among common citizens, to the point where many of the residents in Seoul believe that its similar to "buying an expensive handbag" or "putting on makeup" (everlasting makeup =.=).

If you are severely against plastic surgery, there is a chance that you may still debut under a company (for instance, YG). However, companies such as SM will most definately strongly recommend you take PS even if you are incredibly good looking to begin with. And when I say strongly recommend I mean do it or else you won't debut. Also, if it is your dream, wouldn't you do anything to achieve it? So, simple plastic surgery shouldn't be that big of a deal.

Guys are a bit off the hook when it comes to plastic surgery; on one hand, girls are not. Also, if you dont have double eyelids, be prepared to get surgery and if you dont have a V-line or an egg-shape (if you're curious what an egg-shape looks like, its pretty much Yoona's face shape) be prepared to get jaw reduction. Guys don't necesarily need to have double eyelids or a V-line, I would say its a good 50-50, but for girls -- there are a couple (like 2 or 3 or maybe even 4) that don't sport double eyelids or a V-line.

Now, I'm not saying that you will 100% absolutely be forced to take PS, but being prepared for it is very smart and important. To truly want to dedicate your life to something, that means that you have to understand its consequences as well.

Chapter 27: Chapter 27: About Lu Han's casting story: I'm 5 years late but whatever, hello. Just recently I read somewhere that Lu Han was "officially casted" into 2010 SM Casting System or something which really surprised me because I thought he got into SM in 2008? I mean yes, he did audition for JYP in 2008 too, but in China. Also there was some fact about Lay and Lu Han and the reason why they are or rather were so close. Because they got into SM on the same day, if I'm not mistaken, and they grew close. A fact is that Lay got into SM too in 2008 after successfully auditioning in China and then moving to Seoul to be a trainee. The thing about auditioning at JYP is true and not being accepted is true as well, but that doesn't make him a trainee? Yeah, for me, I believe he got into SM and trained for three/four years and I don't really believe that he got casted in SM. It doesn't make any sense being casted in 2008 and signing a contract officially in 2010, I doubt that SM would wait that long, you'd probably have to audition again.

Chapter 18: Hi.... My name is Siang.... So my question is that what is the perfect age for a trainee of JYP Entertainment?? If I don't know Korean language than can I become a K-pop star? Getting to the actual point I can't dance that well so if I auditioned for a trainee in JYP Entertainment, will I get selected for a trainee?

Chapter 40: Hey, I want to be a trainee, but I live in Cali, and JYP's US branch is in New York. If I get in, how do I train there? Because I want to finish school. And also, do you need to attend college to get in? Or not?

Chapter 15: Nah... Hangengs was so many years ago and during that time he earned so little bc he wss the first foreign idol. Nowadays idols like exo or big bang can earn millions. (Correct me if im wrong) i think i read that a new law was made to protect artists and they dont have to pay back to earn money anymore(i think its only for the big 3)
