Why I am skeptical about Luhan's scouting story

K-Pop Audition/Trainee Questions

Hello pretty peeps, this chapter is just a quick elaboration on why I am skeptical about Luhan's scouting story. And the reason I decided to do this was because someone commented that they were also curious on how Luhan got into SM.

So, here, is Luhan's story on how he got scouted.

He was shopping with his friend at Myeongdong, and just so happened to caught the eye of an SM scout who later didn't give him anything but a phone number. Luhan thought it was a fraud at first before calling and realizing that it was real.

This is why I am a bit skeptical:

Its a little known fact that Luhan knew about SM Entertainment well before he went to study in Korea. There have been many predebut accounts that he had really liked the band TVXQ (and was a Yunho fan). Since he was a fan before he went to Korea, it is pretty obvious that he would know which company TVXQ was under (the great and almighty SM Entertainment). With that being said, when he got scouted, Luhan shouldn't have thought that it was a "fraud" (this is using his exact words...) from his scout since he, already in Korea, would've known what SM Entertainment company was. Also, this "scouting" apparently had happened in 2008 but Luhan doesn't join SM until 2010. Why would there be such a huge gap in between scouting and actually getting casted? Hmm.....fishy fishy.... There have been people saying that he studied at Korea for 2 whole years, which is something I am rather skeptical about as well. Foreign exchange programs rarely last two years long -- most of them are a year. The only time when you end up going to a country for a long time is if you go for one year, go back to your country, and then go back for another year.

This, is why I am a bit skeptical of Luhan's story.

Also, there have been rumors circulating that Luhan was a JYP trainee before. I also don't think he was as SM and JYP do not have "trainee exchanges". The only proof people have is his JYP audition form which only proves one thing: that he auditioned for JYP in 2008. That, however, doesn't mean he was a trainee.

This is what I think might be true (MAJOR CONSPIRACY THEORIES COMING UP -- PLEASE TAKE WITH A GRAIN OF SALT):

1. Luhan auditioned for JYP in 2008 and unfortunately did not make it in. (Its okay, cuz you are ubes popular now / luhan's face). This happened when he was in Korea to study at Yonsei University as a foreign exchange student. Then, He auditioned for SM and got in (later). SM, in turn, made up his scouting story to cover up any possible plastic surgery rumors (as most people who are scouted are based off of their looks. and do I think Luhan has had plastic surgery? Yes, I think he has.) and to market him as this beautiful, handsome, cute fairy-like thing. Yay.

Do you have a conspiracy theory on certain idol's scouting/auditioning stories? If so, leave it in a comment in a comment section below. Have additional questions? Leave it below or private message me~! Good luck everyone!

Chapter 27: Chapter 27: About Lu Han's casting story: I'm 5 years late but whatever, hello. Just recently I read somewhere that Lu Han was "officially casted" into 2010 SM Casting System or something which really surprised me because I thought he got into SM in 2008? I mean yes, he did audition for JYP in 2008 too, but in China. Also there was some fact about Lay and Lu Han and the reason why they are or rather were so close. Because they got into SM on the same day, if I'm not mistaken, and they grew close. A fact is that Lay got into SM too in 2008 after successfully auditioning in China and then moving to Seoul to be a trainee. The thing about auditioning at JYP is true and not being accepted is true as well, but that doesn't make him a trainee? Yeah, for me, I believe he got into SM and trained for three/four years and I don't really believe that he got casted in SM. It doesn't make any sense being casted in 2008 and signing a contract officially in 2010, I doubt that SM would wait that long, you'd probably have to audition again.

Chapter 18: Hi.... My name is Siang.... So my question is that what is the perfect age for a trainee of JYP Entertainment?? If I don't know Korean language than can I become a K-pop star? Getting to the actual point I can't dance that well so if I auditioned for a trainee in JYP Entertainment, will I get selected for a trainee?

Chapter 40: Hey, I want to be a trainee, but I live in Cali, and JYP's US branch is in New York. If I get in, how do I train there? Because I want to finish school. And also, do you need to attend college to get in? Or not?

Chapter 15: Nah... Hangengs was so many years ago and during that time he earned so little bc he wss the first foreign idol. Nowadays idols like exo or big bang can earn millions. (Correct me if im wrong) i think i read that a new law was made to protect artists and they dont have to pay back to earn money anymore(i think its only for the big 3)
