To Choi Minho-ssi,

Why is it that everyone seems to find this so bothersome?  I don't understand.  Are people so anti-social, or are they just so absorbed in their own little worlds that they can't spare a few minutes for correspondence with someone they can't speak with face-to-face?

I don't think letters are stupid at all.  What if phones and internet someday stopped working?  Letters would be the only long-distance communication.

As for me being someone you don't know, isn't that easily fixed, simply through a few letters?

I realize you probably have much more important things to do with your time than to send letters to some kid you've never met.  But this penpal project really means a lot to me.  I can't tell you how important it is.  Couldn't you at least give it a try, even if just for a few letters?

Please at least consider it.
