prologue

New York, USA

"Unnie, look at this! Big Bang is coming out with another Japanese album. It says that they're staying in Japan for a while." Lim says to her unnies as she pointed to the screen of her laptop.

Yubin rushed over to Lim's side.

"Let me see that for a second." She said, taking the laptop away form Lim.

Yubin squinted her eyes and looked closer.

Big Bang to release yet ANOTHER Japanese album. They will be staying in Japan for a while until they release the official album.

"What is this, Seunghyun didn't even tell me that they're staying in Japan, that little punk." Yubin growls, then looks over at Sohee.

"Sohee-ah, are you ok?" She asks. 

Sohee looked at her with a blank face.

"Huh? Yeah." She said in monotone.

Yubin looked at Lim and Yeeun and smiled sadly.

"Don't bother her for a while, she needs to face this herself, ok?" She whispers to them.

Sohee suddenly stands up from the leather couch and walks into the hallway to her room. Yubin just stared at the maknae's disappearing silhouette.

As Sohee locks the door to her room, she grunts.

"Argh! This is so frustrating, I can't deal with this." She says to herself as she jumped into her bed and fell into sleep.

A few hours later, Sohee wakes up to a vibrating sensation. She opens her eyes and sees her cellphone on the nightstand glowing and vibrating. She grabs it, and looks at the screen. Squinting her eyes, she sees that she has a few missed calls from Sooyoung, her sister.

She gets up and calls her back.

"Ne, Unnie? Why did you call me?" She asked.

"Yah! Sohee-ah, It's an emergency. Can you fly to my house here in Japan right now?"

"What's the emergency? We're still in New York."

"Appa got into a car accident on the bridge by my house and the truck he hit caused his car to flip over. He's in the hospital right now, getting surgery. They're telling me that it's fatal, he probably won't last a while. He just wants to see his daughters. You need to come here ASAP." Sohee can tell that Sooyoung is nearly hysterical, her voice cracking and choking on her words.

Then Sohee adjusted to what her sister just said. Appa got into an accident, he could be dying right now. 

Sohee jumped out of her bed and went to her closet. She reached for her luggage bag at the top of her closet and began filling it up with random clothes and shoes. Once she finished, she stormed out of her room in leggings and a Boy London sweatshirt, holding her Goyard passport holder and her luggage bag.

Yubin was the first to see her.

"Yah! Sohee, where are you going with your passport?!" She yells.

"Unnie! I have to go to Japan now, my dad got into an accident, he's! dy-" Sohee croaked and her tears started to flow down her cheeks.

Yubin's eyes widened at the sight in front of her. At the sound of crying, Sunye, Yeeun and Lim also came into the living room, only to find Sohee kneeled on the ground, holding her passport and crying.
