CHAPTER 18. WORRYWART

Choi Seunghyun cancelled our driving lessons so many times already that by the third time he called to cancel yet again! I reacted furiously.

I texted him a message.

Dara:

Yah...the three times you cancelled on me nullifies three sessions. So you only have two driving lessons with me left.

Truth be told, she misses the guy.  They practically see each other every week while filming the movie. But now she barely sees him at all.  They don’t even exchange text messages anymore. 

Monkey-face:

Sorry…busy filming a new movie.

She didn’t reply to him anymore put her phone on mute and just sulked in her room.  What? She was busy too? She was an idol too just like him? Maybe that stupid driving lesson as a gift was really a stupid idea. Her phone vibrated.  It was another message from him.

Monkey-face:

See you at the premier later…

Oh right…

The thought of having to face him later after she just instigated a fight with him makes her not want to appear in the event at all!  Just then she receives a flurry of text messages from Minzy, Bom, and Cl saying they would appear in the red carpet for her.

It made her smile as she called Boms’ number.

“Yah…I don’t even feel like going.” Was the first thing she said as she played with a corner of a pillow case.

“Heol! It’s your first movie! Why shouldn’t you go?” she yelled in the other line.

“Probably…I’m avoiding someone…?” she said tentatively.

“Heo! Who could it be?” she asked curiously.

“Just kidding! Anyway I’m barely appearing in the movie…I’m glad you’re willing to come out and support me. You barely appear anywhere unless it’s a company planned appearance.”

“Eh…of course! We’re 2ne1!” she yelled yet again.

And the two friends started laughing like they’re crazy.

“Aishtt….” He exclaimed as he read her message for the nth time.  She drives him nuts.  He really was busy. He has been working like a zombie for days because he wanted to finish all his commitments before he would start that thing that he talked with Dongwook a month ago. 

His thoughts were interrupted when PA informed him that the cast will start to gather backstage.  He quickly got up from his chair and followed the assistant.  He greeted his other cast members as they all got behind the curtain.  He looked around till he spotted her standing beside Shin Minah.

“Here you are…” he said as he approached from behind.  She turned around and looked surprised, maybe caught off-guard, for just a split second then gave him a curt nod.  He could already tell that she was intent on treating him coldly.

“Ahh…Seunghyun-ah…you look like you’ve lost a lot of weight.” Shin Minah remarked and he could see Dara look at him worriedly and when she realized he was looking at her expression she quickly looked away in disinterest. He fought hard to suppress himself from smiling.

“I’ve been really busy…I’m trying to finish all the work I have lined up…” he said though answering Minahs’ question his eyes never left Daras’, gauging her expression. “Which reminds me…Dara…do you have time later?”

She looked at him suspiciously before answering, “I’m a busy person too.”

“Ah…jinja…” he asked as he slowly took out her hand made coupon from his pocket, “Cause I remember…I still have two lessons left…” he said as he waved the paper in the air.

He was inwardly pleased when she failed to keep her compuser when dropped in agape.

“Seunghyun!!! Why did you bring that stupid thing with you!!” she yelled as she scrambled to take it from his hands.

“What??! it’s mine to keep…” he said in laughter while Minah looked at them curiously.

“Alright…alright…I’ll hide it.” he said as he tucked it back in his pocket, “Why are you so embarrassed anyway? It’s a cool gift…it’s unique…” he said.

“As I’ve said…you’re not the only one who is busy…” she said putting her hands on her hips.

“Really?” he asked disbelievingly. “2ne1 isn’t gonna start preparing for another debut for the next two months…”

“Well I have a social life too…where in fact…I’m attending a party with Minah later…” she said proudly.

He looked at Shin Minah…and the other girl nodded her head in confirmation.  He wasn’t able to talk to her after that.

It was already past eleven in the evening but Choi Seunghyung couldn’t fall asleep from too much worrying.  Shin Minah was fond of hard partying, and it was one of the reasons why they broke up before.  Shin Minahs’ wild personality was simply a far cry from his ideal woman. He dialed Dara’s number but she wasn’t answering. So she called Bom instead.

“Yah! Choi Seunghyun! It’s almost frigging midnight! Why are you calling me?! This better not be one of your drunken-random-phone-dialing moments!”

“Mian…I just wanted to check if Dara went home with you guys after the premier?”

The other girl was silent on the other line for a few seconds before she answered, “Ani…she said she’s hanging out with a new friend.” Her tone of voice changed from irritation to worry, “Seunghyun should I be worried?”

“Ani…just call me when she gets home.” he said not wanting to cause panic.

now that my flurry of march april and may activities are finally over...i hope i can write more often for you guys. my busyness officially ended yesterday, and i started writing last night. stupidbutt is really sorry for the long absence...
