Singing in the Rain - Chapter 20

Singing in the Rain | Sequel to Dancing in the Rain

The clock strike midnight, the computers uploaded the song into many of the of their digital portals. In a couple of minutes, the song released top the OST charts as fans of the drama bought the song for their liking. Devoted fans sat down at their desks, translating the song for international fans to better understand the song while others analyzed it, trying to find all the connections meant for the two people it was intended for. Social sites blew up with the fans tweeting and messaging the stars to hear the song to help clear everything up and prayed that their OTP will be the one that gets together in the end, in the drama and in real life.

Unbeknownst to them, the two boys were in their separate rooms and the song had been downloaded but they hesitated to play it. They both had thought over what she had said that day on the cliff countless times and they knew that she was completely right. Though they hoped for it all to turn out better for her, they mostly thought about themselves these past years to the point that they don’t deserve her at all, but they knew that they had her heart and she had theirs.

Taking a deep breath, they pushed the play button and remained silent as the soft piano ballad played.

It seemed like it was just yesterday we were all friends, now we’re distant.

Love is funny that way; it plays with your emotions, with your heart.

But how do I choose?

People sing for the rain, but I stand here singing in it,

allowing my cries to go unnoticed.

My heart is tore between you two, you two dearest.

But how do I choose?

Who do I choose?

In this endless world, I only know of my heart

but now I doubt it since you two came into my life.

You both were kind to me, showing me the love I needed to be strong,

to stand on my own.

And for that, I thank you.

People sing for the rain, but I stand here singing in it,

allowing my cries to go unnoticed.

My heart is tore between you two, you two dearest.

But how do I choose?

Who do I choose?

I have an answer.

There’s always that one person who loved me more,

one who my heart yearns for the most.

The person my heart feels is better for me

is the person I love.

And... I have chosen.

I have chosen.

But you have to wait.

They clicked stop, preventing the song from repeating itself. Taking a deep breath, they knew that there was only one thing they could do and that is wait.

Hours turned into days, days in weeks, and yet neither of them had received a word of contact from her outside of filming. It seemed like she had not chosen and was neglecting them, but they still held out hope.

Niel was in his room, just sitting on the bed and staring out the window. He was lost in his thoughts and had not realized that someone had entered the room until the blinds were closed. He turned to the side and saw the familiar blonde. “Byunghun hyung.”

L.Joe sighed. “You know, I went and saw her today, since neither of you have even tried to talk to her besides when you’re filming.”

“She doesn’t want to talk to us.” replied Niel.

“You know, since what happened at the cliff, you and Ricky barely talked.”

“Oh?”

L.Joe pinched the bridge of his nose. “I’ll tell you exactly what I told Changhyun: you may think that she’s making you wait, but in reality, you guys are making her wait.”

“What?”

‘It seems like just yesterday we were all friends, now we’re distant.’ Does that not mean anything to you? If she were to tell you who she chose, what would happen to you and Changhyun? What will happen to TEEN TOP?” asked L.Joe while Niel remained silent. “TEEN TOP consists of all six of us working together, having fun together, learning together, Daniel. Think about that.” He left the room, leaving the younger male to grasp what he told him.

Niel sat there, all of his thought were racing in his mind and he didn’t know what to make of it. He knew that his relationship with Ricky had been different even before  what happened weeks ago and now that he thought about... it wasn’t fair, for them, for her, for his group, for his fans. He stood up and walked to the door, opening to see that Ricky was there, about to knock.

They stood there for a couple of seconds before Niel moved out of the way and allowed Ricky to step into his room. The door closed with four pairs of eyes aimed in that direction and that was the last they saw the two until hours later. The four took note of the pleasant air and smile that everything was going to be fine. L.Joe smiled the most, proud of his dongsaengs and took out his cell phone and texted someone before joining the whole group to go see a movie.

Yun smiled brightly when she had received L.Joe’s text. She’d been waiting for the boys to get along again before she had made her move and now that they had she knew, whatever the outcome was, everything was back to normal. She waited an hour before pulling out her phone to call the person and leave a voice message since L.Joe had told her they were going to a movie.

She dialed the person and as predicted, it went directly to voice mail. “Please meet me at the park’s fountain at around 8PM if possible.”

She smiled happily and went off to prepare.

Niel’s Ending

His heart was racing when he had heard the message from her. He quickly excused himself and ran off to where she had told him to be. He shortly arrived and stood there panting as he looked around, confused that no one was there. He checked his watch, seeing that it was around eight, yet she hasn’t arrived. ‘Maybe the message was for Changhyun.’ he thought as his heart sank.

Before he left, it suddenly started to rain. He stood where he was and closed his eyes as he allowed the it to drench him to the bone. Before long, he couldn’t feel the raindrops anymore and opened his eyes to see her.

She gently at him. “Thank you for coming.”

Niel reached up, both his hands gently holding her face. “I’m sorry for everything.” he whispered.

Yun dropped the umbrella then placed her hands on top of his. “Don’t be. There was a lot of struggle and there will still some sort of struggle in the future, but whatever it is... we’ll get through it together.”

Niel smiled then slowly leaned down before capturing her lips in a small sweet kiss. He broke the kiss when the guests cheered and looked away with a large grin on his face. He looked over to his bride as her cheeks were becoming rosy. He held her hand and pulled her down the isle and out of the church where their limo was waiting for them.

They entered the limo then lowered the window and waved at everyone outside. “We’ll see you soon!” she yelled as they drove away. She leaned back against the seat as the window rolled up and looked at her newlywed husband. “So, yobo, this is it.”

He smiled as he kissed her forehead. “This is the start to a whole new chapter in our life. I love you.”

Yun moved over and leaned against Niel’s chest. “I love you too.”

Fin.

Ricky’s Ending

Ricky showed up to the park half an hour early because he wanted to calm himself down before seeing her. He paced around the fountain, thinking about what he could say to her when she arrives, but he couldn’t even think of the correct thing.

“Changhyun.”

He jumped hearing his name and he turned around seeing her stand in front of him in the same white and blue dress he had once bought her. His mouth opened and closed several times before he was final able to say something. “Hi.”

Yun chuckled. “Thank you for meeting me.”

“W-wait!” stuttered RIcky. He shook his head before gently taking her hand. “Before anything, I’m sorry! I really am!” he sincerely apologized, looking directly in her eyes. “I didn’t mean to be selfish.”

“I know and I accept your apology, Changhyun.” She stepped closer to him and hugged his waist. “I love you, Yoo Changhyun.”

Ricky smiled and hugged her tightly. “I love you too, Park Yun... Yun... Yun! Wake up!”

Yun groggily opened her eyes and turned to her left to her husband. “What?” she asked as she rubbed her eyes.

Ricky smiled brightly as he held out a small box. “Happy birthday!”

“Yeah! Happy birthday, umma!” squeaked a little voice.

She looked to the left seeing their five year old daughter smiling at her with her two front teeth missing. Yun smiled and wrapped her arms around her daughter, pulling her close to her. “Thank you, Haneul.” she muttered as she cuddled her child closer causing to laugh.

“Yah! What about me?” pouted Ricky and he laid down and hug those two.

Yun smiled and leaned over kissing her husband. “Thank you to you too!”

“Eww! Umma! Appa!”

Fin.

And for some weird thing... a total of four people joked with me that Yun would runaway with L.Joe and for those jokers... THIS IS FOR YOU!

L.Joe’s Ending

At least a week has past since the release of her song and Yun had been watching both Niel and Ricky, hoping that they could be friends again. So far, it doesn’t seem possible. They may have acted friendly on camera, but it was still just an act. She was hoping that they could have understand her song and patch things up, but it was like hoping for rainfall during a drought.

She sat at her table in her hotel suite, reading scripts for a new movie she was casted in when there was a knock on the door. Leaving her script there, she went to open it and was surprised to see it was L.Joe. “Byunghun oppa... come in.” she offered as she stepped aside and he smiled at her before entering. “Oppa... what are you doing here?” she asked once she closed the door.

He didn’t say anything and just went into the dining area and placed a bag on the table. “You’d been looking a bit thin, so I got you some food; your favorites are kimchi soup and fried rice, right?” he asked as he took out a thermos and covered bowl.

Yun could smell the food from where she was standing causing her stomach to growl. “I’ll go get some bowls.” she said as she went to the kitchen and pulled out bowls, spoons and water bottles before taking a seat at the table.

They ate together in silence and when the food was halfway done, she asked him the same question as when he first arrived. L.Joe slightly smiled and placed his spoon down. “Your song... in the beginning, you want Changhyun and Daniel to be friends again right?” She nodded. “It doesn’t seem like they got the hint.”

She sighed. “I was thinking the same too. I don’t really want them to be so distant.... What will happen to TEEN TOP if this continues?” She looked down before getting out of her chair and bowing on the ground to L.Joe. “I’m really sorry to have caused all this, oppa.”

He immediately out of his chair and pulled her up. “Yun, whatever happened is not your fault, okay?” She remained quiet and when he saw tears were forming in her eyes, he hugged her tightly. “Don’t take all the blame, Yun.”

Everyday L.Joe would find time in his schedule to go and see Yun, whether it had been on set or at her hotel room without being caught by s or the media. He made sure that she ate and to make her laugh during this time and it filled him with happiness when he see her smile.

One day, they were sitting on the couch in the hotel watching a movie that was on TV. They sat fairly close to each other, but neither minded. As the movie progressed, Yun turned to L.Joe and stared at him for a couple seconds before he turned to look at her. “Oppa... you’d been here with me for three weeks now... why?”

He blinked, a bit taken back by her question. “What do you mean ‘why’? Do I need a reason to help out a friend?”

She shook her head. “No.” she answered as she looked back at the movie.

“Why did you ask me that, Yun?”

“It’s just...” she turned back to him. “I’d seen this movie countless times; girl breaks up with her boyfriend and his best friend comforts her and... I don’t know, it seems like a similar situation.” she shrugged.

“What happens in the end of this movie?”

“She figures out that her ex’s best friend was her true love and they end up together.”

By the eighth week, Yun lost hope at Niel and Ricky would be friends again even after L.Joe had told her that he had a talk with them. She looked down at the picture in her hand as a tear slipped down her face. “You two are not the men I loved anymore.” she said before letting it go and watching it flow with the winds. She covered her face to hide her tear-stricken face from the world. “I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I’m sorry.” she mumbled repeatedly.

“Yun? Yun! What’s wrong?” asked L.Joe as he ran over to her side and hugged her closer. He heard her apologize over and over again and hugged her tightly. “Why are you apologizing, you pabo? You didn’t do anything wrong.”

She pulled away a little. “Angels must hate me... if anything will happen to TEEN TOP, I-I don’t know what I’ll do! It’ll be all my fault.” she sobbed.

“No one will blame you, Yun, cause that won’t happen. Angels love you and so does your own fans. Everything will be okay.” he comforted.

He spent the whole day with her, helping her with this heartbreak and slowly mending her heart together again. When she told him to go home, he saw that the two had both given up on Yun because of how long she had kept them waiting and comforted them also.

The next day, he called her, seeing if she was in her room, but she told him not to come over. It irked him that he couldn’t be there for her after all that had happened. Later, he called again but it went directly to voicemail. He hung up, not bothering to leave a message and called her manager. The call only lasted a few minutes before he was already in his room packing some on his stuff before leaving for the airport. Some fans there noticed who he was and spread the news on social networks that he was going to Brunei.

Yun laid out on a lawn chair by the pool. She needed some time away from Korea and was lucky that her manager allowed her to go on a small vacation to set her head straight. She looked up at the darkening sky and soon her eye lids slowly closed. However, before they could fully closed, she heard a familiar voice. “You could have told me you were going to be here.”

Her eyes snapped open and widened when she saw that L.Joe was really standing there in front of her. “Byunghun... oppa....”

He smiled at her and kneeled down to her eye level. “I’m never going to leave you alone, Yun. I’m always going to be here for you.”

Hearing those words bought tears to her eyes and she hugged him. “Thank you....” she said as the day finally ended before showing the brightly lit starry sky.
