The End

Something Wicked This Way Comes

Joo-hyun took a good look at the women in her room looking at her with a confused look on her face. She sounded like her mother. She looked and smelled like her mother but couldn’t have been her. Her mother was dead. Joo-hyun quickly jumped out of her bed and grabbed the bat in her room. She quickly looked at the bat and wondered why she had a bat in her room in the first place.

“Joo-hyun I seriously think you should skip school today. Obviously you’re still not well,” Lauren moved towards Joo-hyun

“Stay the hell away from me. Who are you?”

Lauren was taken aback at the tone her daughter had with her. She was out of it for three whole days. While at school in the auditorium, sound equipment fell on her head. She was greatly injured.

“Joo-hyun it is ok,” she tried to calm her daughter down

“Stay away from me!” she screamed

Min Soo rushed to the room to find his daughter ready to bludgeon her mother with a baseball bat.

“Joo-hyun,”

“Daddy,” she ran to him, “Who is this woman. Surly it really isn’t Mom,”

“You must have hit your head harder than we thought,” he rubbed her head and still felt the knot on her scalp, “Stop being silly. Wow you know you should start filming honey,” he turned to his wife who smiled, “This can be her audition tape for that show you wanted her to try out for. You know get some experience on your resume, Joo-hyun,” he patted her back

“I’m not laughing,” she calmed down a bit when she finally took a look at Lauren who was still smiling at her. Suddenly her tears filled her eyes, “I thought you were dead,” she wiped her face

“Now why would you think that? I’m very much alive and today is a very special day,” she hugged her daughter, and then looked at her, “Happy Birthday Joo-hyun. My baby is now 18,” she squeezed her tight as Joo-hyun wrapped both arms tightly around her mother and cried

“Joo-hyun why did you think your Mom was dead?” asked Min-soo

“I guess I was having a terrible dream,”

Yes it was more like a nightmare from hell. My gosh she never dreamt something that felt so freaking real. Most of her friends ended up dead. Her Mom and Kai’s Dad had an affair and produced Satan’s spawn named Yuri who tried to take over the world.

Joo-hyun shook her head as she tried to take those images out of her mind. Only it was very difficult to do. She actually dreaded school today.

“Honey I really think you should stay home. You were out for three whole days and plus it’s your birthday. Want to play hokey with mommy,” she winked at her daughter

“You’re a terrible influence. No I have to go to clarify some things,”

“Well I made your favorite breakfast,” Lauren clasped her hands together and showed all 24 white teeth

“Blueberry waffles,” they all enjoyed breakfast together and Joo-hyun went on her way to school

As she drove to school a million questions and butterflies were flying though her stomach. She didn’t know what to expect. Her dream felt so real. It spanned over a periods of months so how did she dream all of that in only 3 days.

Joo-hyun pulled up to the school parking lot and walked into the school. Things were very quiet. It was very eerie then she heard her best friend scream at her happily and wrap her in a huge hug.

“Happy birthday best friend. How do you feel?”

“Hyo-yeon, are you ok?” she grabbed her friend’s shoulders

“Yea, the question is are you ok? You were out for 3 days after school equipment fell on your head. You know you should really thank Chen. He saved your life. I know he’s super creepy sometimes but Kris says he’s a quiet soul,”

“Kris? They’re friends?”

“What planet have you been living on? They’ve always been friends; since middle school,” she looked at Joo-hyun with a weird expression

“He hates Chen. Chen supposedly killed his parents,”

“What? Oh is this from your manuscript that you told me you were writing for that internship in San Francisco. Juicy. I like it already,” she walked to her locker

“Yea it is,” Joo-hyun still had a confused look on her face when she suddenly felt strong arms wrap around her waist and lips touch her neck

“Happy birthday baby,” Kris smiled in her neck

“Kris,” she was relieved he was ok, “You’re here,”

“Where else would I be,” he laughed at her, “Happy birthday,”

“Your girlfriend is being super strange,”

“Well my baby was in a coma for awhile,” he kissed her deep which made Hyo-yeon roll her eyes

Joo-hyun’s breath was taken back. One thing that didn’t change was how Kris kissed her. She was glad to find that even though things are totally different from her dream; Kris still adored her and they were together.

“Hyo-yeon I don’t know why you’re so jealous. You and Lay are so attached to the hip, you can make out anytime you want,” Kris snickered and Hyo-yeon gave Joo-hyun a dirty look

“Wow you’re so funny. Way to rub it in best friend,” she slammed her locker and walked away

“Did I say something wrong?” she asked a laughing Kris

“Hyo-yeon truly embarrassed herself in front of Lay and the entire cafeteria the other day. She tripped in front of him spilling her entire lunch on herself and Lay as well. Well that girl has some serious pride because she’s a dancer and dancers aren’t clumsy. Lay thought it was cute though but she’s been avoiding him ever since,” he shrugged his shoulders

“Oh poor thing. Lay should confess to her then,”

“I’ve been trying to tell him that but he’s suddenly shy. What are you going to do?” he looked at his girlfriend, “But why did you say that Hyo-yeon and Lay can make out when you knew they weren’t together?”

Joo-hyun still felt like the dream was real. She had to explain herself.

“Don’t think I’m crazy ok but I had the most real dream ever while I was in my coma and everything was so different,”

“Tell me,”

“Well Lay and Hyo-yeon were together,”

“What about you and me?”

“Yes for the most part,”

“What does that mean? Who else were you with,” he folded his arms with a smirk on his face

Before Joo-hyun could answer they were interrupted by a loud male voice that boomed through the hallway and caused Joo-hyun to freeze.

“Yo Kris!”

“Hey what’s up man. Look who is back,” Kris turned Joo-hyun to face none other than Suho

Joo-hyun had a shock look on her face which caused Suho to frown.

“Are you ok Joo-hyun,” he tried to hug her but she quickly backed away

“Stay away,” as soon as she said that she regretted it because Kris and Suho looked so worried, “I’m sorry. I’m not myself,”

“You’re shaking babe,” Kris rubbed her arms

“Happy birthday Joo-hyun. I’m so glad you’re ok,” Yoona suddenly appeared giving Joo-hyun the biggest hug

Xiumin, Baekhyun, Tae-yeon, and Luhan followed. Joo-hyun looked at all of them with an expression none of them could read. They were all worried about her because she looked as if she would pass out any minute. Yoona angrily turned to Kris.

“How could you let her come to school? Clearly she is not well,” she hit his arm

“Yay! Luhan control your women,” he rubbed his arm and then tried to comfort Joo-hyun but she slipped through his grasped

“Maybe she’s right. I think I’ll go home now,”

It felt too much to see all the dead people now talking to her and smiling at her in the hallway. She couldn’t process what was happening and she felt like she was in the twilight zone; like their skin was going to suddenly melt away and leave a pile of corpses.

She wasn’t looking where she was going and collided with somebody.

“Whoa,” he gripped her arms

“Kai,” she jumped out of his grasp

“Do I still leave have that affect on you?” he had tears in his eyes and looked away from her, “I’m sorry,” he started to walk away but she felt something tug at her heart

“Wait. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to do that,”

“No it’s cool. I don’t blame you,” he continued to walk away from her

“Kai,” she wasn’t sure why she did this but she felt like he needed it. She gave him the most sincere hug. Last time she saw him; he was lying in a pool of his own blood. That image would be forever in her mind. But she was starting to accept, maybe this moment was real and the dream is had been just that, a dream.

Kai didn’t pull away from Joo-hyun. He had loved her since they met all those years ago. They had been best friends since birth. They had history, heck their parents had history. They were meant to be always together. Or so he thought. When Joo-hyun went to South Korea for the last two years of middle school, he was devastated. He lost his best friend, but he met Kris they became really close. They did everything together. They told secrets and shared things. But when Joo-hyun came back to the States for high school she was more beautiful than ever and Kai knew this was his chance to tell her how he felt. But Kris beat him to it. How could pretty Joo-hyun resist Kris? He was smart, attractive and likeable and when Kris told Kai he had feelings for his best friend he couldn’t confess. So he kept it to himself. He let Kris be with Joo-hyun. He wanted his best friends to be happy because they liked each other so much. Joo-hyun never looked at Kai the way she did Kris. He was so hurt and depressed the only way to ease the pain was to distance himself from the both of them. He kept it cordial but they grew apart. It was better that way.

But the day of Joo-hyun’s accident Kai couldn’t hide it anymore. He finally confessed to her and kissed her. She was so shocked, she ran from him. He wanted to apologize but when he heard about her accident in the auditorium he knew it was his fault. Joo-hyun would always go in there to clear her mind; for she was an actress, director, producer, and writer; anything having to do with the theater, Joo-hyun was a part of it. It was her haven, her sanctuary.

He knew she wasn’t focused or she would have been aware of the light falling from its post. He was the reason she was in a coma for 3 days and when he told his father what happened, he was furious but only for a second.

“Kai are you still with me? You seem to be a million miles away,”

“You don’t remember, what happened? You don’t remember why you went into the auditorium in the first place?”

She tried to remember but she couldn’t. Her brain was a pile of mush.

“No,”

“I kissed you. I kissed you because I’m in love with you. I have been since we were little kids but Kris got to you first,”

“So it’s true. We’ve known each other since 1st grade,”

“It’s been longer than that; since birth,” Joo-hyun eyes widen, “You really don’t remember?” he was surprised. Poor girl had a small case of amnesia, “Do you want me to fill you in,” he smiled at her. He was glad she wasn’t running from him

“Would you?” she smiled at him relieved she would finally hear the truth, “Wait you and Kris aren’t half brothers right?”

“What?” he laughed, “Where would you get an idea like that? Kris is an only child. The Hans adopted him when he was 8,” he continued to laugh, “I have one younger brother, Jangwoo,”

“Oh,” she was glad to hear that. She wanted for him to tell her the truth

“Well it started off with my father saving you and your mother’s life,”

Kai told her everything about their past and the now present. The more Joo-hyun heard this version of her life the more if felt like the real thing. Little bits of that life invaded her brain and her dream actually felt more like a dream. She felt 10 times better and her and Kai’s relationship was mending as well. He apologized and she forgave him. She wanted them to stay friends and he agreed.

“Well we are so late for class now,” Kai stood up, “You coming?” he held his hand out

“In a minute,”

“Ok don’t be too long,” he walked in the school building

Joo-hyun felt so much better. This life felt like it was really hers. But she wondered why she dreamt such a violent and real dream. Maybe because she was a writer and a actress. Maybe she should write a book or a movie. It was a part of her upbringing after all. As she started to think of a title for her book she ran into Jessica who was running into the school building as well.

“Joo-hyun, you’re here. Happy Birthday,” she hugged the younger girl

“Hey,” she smiled, “You’re running late too?” Joo-hyun looked at her appearance. She was a mess, her lips were red and her face was flushed, “Why do you look like you’ve just been attacked by a wild boar?”

“Gosh you’re so dramatic. It wasn’t a wild boar, it was a boy,” she tried to avoid the subject but Joo-hyun wasn’t going to let her off so easily

“Does this boy have a name?”

“You can’t say anything. Gosh this is so not me. I don’t date guys like him but last night when my car broke down on the side of the road, he was driving by and decided to help me and Joo-hyun he was only wearing jeans and v neck shirt but he looked so hot and I’ve never looked at him like that before but I could not take my eyes off of him,”

“Who is it that’s got you talking a mile a minute?”

“Chanyeol Park. No one can know. The girls will kill me; call me a hypocrite and stuff,”

“The only person you have to worry about calling you that is Yuri,”

“Who?”

“You know co-captain of the cheerleading squad. Yuri Kwon,”

“Honey I know everyone in this school and there is no one by that name. How hard did you hit your head again,” she smiled at her

Joo-hyun was floored. Everyone else that was in her dream was real. So how come she imaged Yuri Kwon.

“Strange,”

“Yea you are,” suddenly a pair of arms wrapped around Jessica’s waist. Joo-hyun started smiling like an idiot.

“Why are you smiling like that?” Jessica asked Joo-hyun

“You guys are meant to be,”

“Huh?”

“Just trust me,”

“I trust you Joo-hyun,” Chanyeol winked at Joo-hyun as Jessica hit his arm

“Stop it,”

“I don’t care who sees. You’re my lady now. Don’t deny it,” he kissed her full on the mouth

“You take care of her,” she walked away from the lovely couple who continued to kiss in the hallway

All throughout the rest of her Joo-hyun had a stupid smile on her face. Everything was as it should have been. All 12 boys were still friends and still referred to themselves as Exo. Lay and Hyo-yeon had finally confessed to each other. Suho was actually a very nice and respectable young man. Tao and Xiumin were stepbrothers who loved each other. Baekhyun was dating Tiffany. Luhan and Yoona were planning their wedding after graduation. Chen was this quiet nerdy boy but really sweet as he kept checking on Joo-hyun every now and again.

Soon the year ended and all the seniors graduated and went off to their colleges. Joo-hyun went to San Francisco for that summer internship which she submitted her writings to. It was published into a book and 7 years later was being made into a movie

7 YEARS LATER

Wu Joo-hyun was waiting in the building looking through all the actress’ profiles. They had casted everyone in the movie expect for one of the main players in the story. The antagonist. This was a very crucial time because filming was about to start in two days.

“Where is that boy,” her phone rang, “Hey baby,” she smiled

Her husband Wu Fan was on the other line having a tea party with his oldest daughter who was 5.

“Hey how is sunny Florida?”

“Sunny,” she laughed, “How is my angel?”

“Beverly and I are having a lovely tea party while Liam is having a nap. We miss you,”

“I miss you too. Me and your son are waiting for Uncle Kai to arrive. It’s crutch time,” Joo-hyun was 5 months pregnant with their 3rd child

“You guys still haven't cast her yet. Don’t worry I have a feeling it’s going to happen today,”

“I hope so,” just then Kai arrived with a huge smile on his face, “Oh Kai is here. I have to go. I love you,”

“Love you too,”

“Your husband?” asked Kai as he sat down next to her

“Yea,”

“So how’s the family,”

“Good. You know you could have a family too if you wanted one,”

“I don’t want one. I love my single life,”

“You mean sleeping with different women. You’re a nice guy, attractive, funny, you have a good job, which means casting director, you found me my girl,”

“I sure did and she is perfect,”

“You didn’t find this one at a bar or on your lap did you?” she laughed at a flush Kai

“Nope I found her the good old fashion way, through an agency. Here is her information,”

Joo-hyun was floored when she saw her name. Just then the girl came in the room.

“Hello my name is Yuri Kwon,”

THE FREAKIN END!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I have decided to write a sequel. It’s still gonna be a thriller. But it’s going to explain the history between Kai and Joo-hyun’s family. And most the characters are going to be the same. So you get to personal know them. And you will know Yuri’s background. She is going to be the stalker. I’m thankful for all the comments and subscribers and support. Love you all

Chapter 28: Can't wait for the sequel! I'm glad everything was just a dream~ Or could it have been a premonition? O_____o Because there's gotta be a reason why Yuri was in the "dream" but never went to the school!

Thank you for a great story! Merry Christmas! ;3
