“Joo hyun…Joo hyun,” Jessica waved her hand in her face, trying to get her attention

“Sorry Jessica. I have a lot on my mind,”

“You’re like your own mini soap opera. It’s kind of sad,”

“What’s really sad is that Kris lost his parents, my real boyfriend is being accused of murder and my fake boyfriend looks like he’s enjoying it,” they girls looked at Kai as he laughed with his friends about Chen being hauled off to the police station. By lunch the video of him had gone viral on YouTube. People are naming it; John Marshall High’s very own Law and Order moment.

“Kai’s a prick. We all know this. I’m wondering though, has he called Kris, cause you know they are brothers. I mean they can’t hate each other that much,”

“I asked Kai and he stared at me. He said why I would call him. He’s the one who abandon mom and me,”

“Wow what a prick. Even so, it ,”

“What really is that Chen looked really guilty though there was something else about his face that I couldn’t read,”

“Why do you care about that loser,” Kai surprised the girls who jumped

“Kai you scared us,”

“You didn’t answer my question,” he sat down and gave her a creepy look

“Um maybe because he saved my life before and he’s living with us,”

“See I told you that he should stay in a hotel. What if that were you and your Dad,” He suddenly kissed her, “I don’t know what I would done,”

“But that’s just it. It was out of character. Chen is gentle, sweet…”

“You sound like you like him,” he got angry

“Of course I like him,”

“What so you want to be his girlfriend now,” he was seeing red

“Chill the hell out Kai! Gosh she’s allowed to like other guys. Though I really don’t know what she sees in you. You’re a possessive arrogant pompous who needs to come off his throne,” she exploded

“Shut up Jessica!” he was just as fired up

“Why don’t you make me shut up?”

“Your wish is my command,” Joo hyun got scared and jumped in

“Hey you guys, calm down,”

“What? Joo hyun your boyfriend is…” Joo hyun stepped in front of her and gave her the please stop talking look, “Fine I will see you later; are we still on for later?” Joo hyun nodded her head and Jessica glared at Kai as she left

“Your friend is a ,”

“I thought she was once your friend too and please don’t call her that,” she was mad

Kai acted as if he didn’t hear her, “Where are you going?”

“Out?”

“Where?”

“It’s private,”

“So we’re keeping secrets now?” he said sarcastically

“I’m sure you have loads of secrets Kai,” his face was tense then he relaxed

“Well I’m just worried about you. There is a killer on the loose,”

“I have pepper spray and Jessica know karate,” he laughed but was annoyed

“I still want you to call me when you get home,”

“I have a Dad for that,”

“What is your problem? Are you on your period?” he was getting annoyed

“I just don’t feel like talking right now. I have a lot on my mind,” she got up to leave but Kai got a hold of her arm and yanked her back in her seat. Luhan, Suho and Baekhyun noticed

“Is it Kris?”

“What?”

“I now you were at his house last night,”

“Are you spying on me? Kris’ parents…”

“They weren’t his parents!”

“They were his parents in every way that it counts. They were brutally murdered last night. Don’t forget I knew them very well too and I’m hurting just as much,” she pulled her arm out of his grasped, “I so disappointed in you. Kris is your brother and he is in serious pain and all you can think about is whether I’m thinking about Kris or Chen. To answer your question; yes I’m thinking about the both of them. Things are happening to people that I know that shouldn’t be happening and it’s breaking my heart,”

“I’m sorry,” he simply said, “Can you forgive me?”

Joo-hyun stared at Kai. He was definitely turning into a completely different person right before her eyes but she had to plan it cool. She mustn’t let him get suspicious of her. Although she had a eerie feeling Kai knew more about the murders then he was letting on.

“Yes I can forgive just don’t let it happen again,” she got and left the cafeteria.

Kai walked back to the table with his friends.

“Trouble in paradise already?” asked Baekhyun

“She’s a feisty one,” said Luhan

“She just needs a little discipline. Soon she will see things my way,” said Kai

Jessica was waiting by Joo-hyun’s car waiting for her when she spotted her younger sister Krystal goofing off with her friends Key and Luna.

“Krystal come over here,” she yelled for her sister

“Hey,”

“Where do you think you are going?”

“Over Luna’s house,”

“Well I want you to be careful,”

“I will,” she kissed her sister goodbye and ran to her friends

Joo-hyun came out of the school with a gloomy look on her face.

“Finally broke up with that prick,” Jessica said as they got into the car

“I don’t want you to argue with him anymore,” she started the car and Jessica was flabbergasted

“What the hell Joo-hyun!”

“Look Kai is starting to scare me. I just remembered something he said to me yesterday and it freaked me out. I don’t want you to get hurt,”

“What are you talking about?”

“When he got jealous of Kris yesterday because thought he was trying to break us up, Kai asked me if I wanted him to get rid of Kris; I don’t know, the way he said it. I think Kai had something to do with Kris’ parents getting killed,”

“Whoa that’s a serious accusation. Do you have any proof?”

“Of course I don’t,”

“But they found evidence of Chen being at the house, not Kai,”

“I know but there were 2 killers at the Hans residence. The other killer they have failed to identify,”

“Which is weird; don’t you think the other killer’s DNA would be at the house?”

Yoo Seung-ho and Layla were at the police station going over Chen’s very squeaky clean file.

“This boy has a perfect record. How do you go from straight As to murder over night?” asked Layla

“Kids are from a different breed these days,” Seung-ho looked at Chen threw the window. Chen had a nervous look on his face, “Poor kid; looks like he’s going to pee on himself,”

Anna came out with the results of the toxicology report.

“What do you got for me Anna?”

“Xanax,” she simply said as she shook her head sadly, “And lots of it,”

“Wow, kid got high before he killed them,”

“Or someone pumped him with the drug. There was a needle print on his arm and he kept babbling about lights and figures hovering over him. He claims he doesn’t remember,”

“Well we shall get to the bottom of this,” Seung-ho and Layla entered the room and sat down as Chen started looking everywhere but them

“Well you just ought to get nervous Chen. You are looking at life in prison without parole. Do you want that for your future? If not you better tell us everything,”

“I don’t know what you want me to say,”

“That’s BS. You murdered those poor innocent people who from the looks of it, would probably cook you a meal and take care of you if you asked, but no you wanted to destroy the lives of them and their loved ones and for what Chen?”

“I don’t remember,”

“Well your prints all over that house. You didn’t do a good job of hiding,” silence

“Who else was in the house with you? Witnesses say you had an accomplice,” said Layla

“I don’t remember anything!”

“Well what do you remember dammit?” Seung-ho was quickly losing his patience

“All I remember was leaving the house and taking a walk,”

“Oh yes, you gave the address of Seo Joo-hyun’s house. You live there?”

“Yes they gave me a place to stay after I was in the hospital,”

“Continue,”

“I took a walk around the neighborhood. I really wasn’t going anything in particular,”

“Who takes a walk around the neighborhood at 8:00 at night? Why were you taking a walk?”

“To clear my head; I got into an argument with my girlfriend,”

“Who is?”

“Joo-hyun,” Layla and Seung-ho’s eyes went up. They thought she was the girlfriend of Kris, “I can tell by the looks on your faces that you’re surprised a girl like that would date a boy like me? After Kris broke up with her, we got close. She visited me while I was in the hospital. Then her Dad offered me a place to stay while I get better. My grandmother is an old woman so I said sure,”

“So what made you so angry that you storm out of the house at night to take a walk?”

“It was about a guy,”

“Jealousy is a terrible thing,”

“What happened after that?” asked Layla

“I ran into some guys I knew,”

“Who were?” Seung-ho was getting annoyed

“Some guys from school,”

“Do you want to give me their names?”

“Kai…”

“Wait, the Kim Jong-in,” he turned to Layla, “This guy is a piece of work,”

“Different boyfriends fighting over the same girl,”

“What happened after that Chen? Who were the other guys?”

“The jocks of our school: Byun Baekhyun, Kim Jun-myun and Lu Han. We used to be close but now we aren’t but they wanted to hang out. So I went with them. I was going to confront Kai and tell him the truth about Joo-hyun that she was really using him…”

“Wait I’m confused, why is Joo-hyun using him?”

“She’s pretending to be his girlfriend. If he knew that he would be pissed off and break up with her and then she would be all mine again but we never had that conversation. We drove to a bar and then I don’t remember anything else,”

“Why is Joo-hyun using Kai?”

“To get information,”

“Why?” Chen felt he said too much but he answered the question anyways, “She thinks he is behind the killings,”

Seung-ho and Layla got serious real quick. They looked at each other and then at Chen.

“And why would she think that?” he asked

“That’s something you’re going to have ask her. She says she has a feeling,”

Jessica and Joo-hyun made it to the TV station to get the book from So-yi.

“Let’s make this quick. I really don’t want to be here longer than I have to,” the girls went into the building and found So-yi and a surprised Chanyeol.

He had his famous Happy Virus face on when the girls came into the room with him and So-yi who was teaching him the ropes. This was his part time job.

“We didn’t know you worked here,” said Jessica

“Well I need the cash. What brings you here?” he asked

“I’m here to see So-yi,”

“She’s in her office,” Joo-hyun walked in leaving Chanyeol and Jessica to chat

“You came,” said So-yi

“I said I was,” she looked awkward

So-yi felt somewhat bad giving the book to her. This poor girl had no idea what her mother had done. And telling from the fact that her father dodged all her questions about her mother; he himself was trying to keep the truth under wraps.

“I still feel bad giving you this book. It’s not pretty,” she handed Joo-hyun the book

“I want the truth. And if the truth has anything to do with Kai’s Dad and my Mom, then I have a right to know,”

“You’re right. You do have a right. So I take it you heard,” Joo-hyun knew exactly what she was talking about

“Heard? I was there when he was arrested. Poor Chen,”

“Poor Chen? Chen murdered two people. Your boyfriend’s parents,” she was shocked about how Joo-hyun was acting

“Me and Kris aren’t together. Me and Chen are together,”

“Oh wow, this just got messy. Well you would know your boyfriend I guess,”

“This is so totally…wait, is this off the record?”

“Sure it’s off the record,”

“It’s unlike him. It’s not him. I feel like someone possessed him and made him do those things,”

“Or maybe you don’t know him as well as you thought. You know every time you see a school shooting and you hear the people talk about the shooter. They say he was a quiet kid, or he kept to himself or he didn’t have a lot of friends or he was good kid, right?”

“Yea,”

“And then cops search their homes or find letters or video tapes and they see this anger and aggression and they realize, wow he was capable of this. I think Chen just hid it so well…”

“Innocent till proven guilty right?” she cut her off

“I want you to be careful. Careful about who you trust, ok? Call me if you need anything,”

“I most likely will. Thanks,”

“No problem. Drive safely,” she smiled at the young girl

As Joo-hyun was coming out of the office Jessica and Chanyeol were laughing hard. Joo-hyun smiled at the both of them.

“Jessica I’m ready to go,” she put the book in her bag, Chanyeol saw the book and his eyes got dark, Jessica stopped laughing and noticed

“Hey what’s your deal?” she lightly pushed him

“Why do you have that trash? Granted I have to work for So-yi but that book is a bunch of celebrity trash. There are no facts to it,”

“My mother is involved. I need answers,”

“Why don’t you just ask your Dad?”

“Why do you care?” Jessica was curious

“My Dad won’t tell me anything,” Joo-hyun was curious too

“I swear the whole male population has lost their minds. You guys talk to us like we are these stupid poor females who can’t deal with the truth. Joo-hyun is a big girl. She doesn’t need your permission to do whatever the hell she wants,”

“Great Chanyeol, you’ve got her worked up,”

“Look don’t start digging up information unless you are truly ready for the consequences,”

“Thank you Dr. Phil but we can manage,” Jessica pulled Joo-hyun out the TV station and they got into the car

“Wow Jessica you’re on a roll today. That’s two guys’ heads you bit off today. Well done,” she was being sarcastic

“Look can we pick up Krystal. I have a feeling I want my sister close to me tonight,”

“Sure,”

Chanyeol’s house was on the other side of town. Joo-hyun and Jessica stopped to make a few more errands before they went to pick up Krystal. It was getting dark outside. Joo-hyun and Jessica were a few blocks away from Chanyeol’s house.

“Why are you so tense?” asked Joo-hyun

“I don’t know. This whole situation is just freaking me out. It’s just so many different warnings coming from different random people. I mean, Chanyeol, what was he babbling on about? I just feel like people are playing games and we don’t know the rules. I don’t like not knowing the rules,” suddenly a big black thing ran in front of the car. Joo-hyun tried to slam on the brakes but she hit whatever that thing was. The girls had screamed on impact.

“OMG, what was that?” asked Joo-hyun

“I don’t know,” they got out of the car to investigate

“Oh I’m scared,” Joo-hyun got jittery and Jessica rolled her eyes

“Fine you stay put, I will look,”

Jessica was never scared of anything. That’s probably the boys at the school called her Ice Princess. She was never like the other girls: wimpy and always depending on a man to save her. As she got closer to whatever it was that they hit suddenly she heard a car rev up and come in her direction. There was really no time to react when she saw bright high beam lights blind her. She saw her life flash before her eyes. She braced for impact but all she felt was a heavy shove to the ground and all she heard was a scream and something hard hitting the car. Joo-hyun saw it happen but it was like slow motion. She didn’t even notice the other cars. Jessica was right in the way of the fast moving car trying so desperately to end her life. There was no time to react but all she saw was someone push Jessica out of the way in the nick of time. But before Joo-hyun could get the license plate number and car sped off.

Jessica quickly got up and went to help the person was lying in the middle of the street not moving.

“Chanyeol! What are you doing?” she grabbed him and saw his wounds.

He had a large gash on his head. Blood was quickly pouring out on the concrete ground.

“OMG,” Joo-hyun called 911

“Chanyeol please answer me! Why did you do that?” Jessica was crying, “Chanyeol please answer me!” she shouted at him to wake up but there were no response only gasps…..

So I just realized something. A huge part of the story was missing. sorry to all the those who were confused. This chapter was orginally an update but here is the chapter 13. Enjoy
