Chapter 36

Suddenly In Love

Krystal’s POV

Luna was right. Yoona is just a part of his past, but why do I think about it so hard? I don’t know how she looks like, but from how Luna described- pretty, smart, popular, I could imagine that she’s like an angel.

But maybe Luna got a point, she’s an ex for a reason, but she’s as well a girlfriend for a reason. And it must be because he loved her. What if he met Yoona and realized that he still loved her?

I just couldn’t think straight. I didn’t even have anymore appetite. I sat with my friends in the canteen, but I just played with the foods and stared at nowhere.

“Soojung ah,” Sulli called as she held my hand. “Why are you acting like this?”

I gave her a weak smile. “I just don’t feel so well,” I lied and she looked worried. “Don’t worry,” I immediately said.

“Why don’t you just go to the nurse’s office, Krys?” Amber added with a worry tone but I just shook my head. I looked around when suddenly my gaze was fixed into the entrance. Minho walked in with his friends and he was laughing with his friends. And then I saw Yoona was walking towards Minho and his friends, and she waved at them. I could feel a cring on my stomach. I felt like I’m really not feeling well now. I sighed.

“Jungie, are you sure you don’t want to go to the nurse’s office? We’ll take you there,” Vic added and I shook my head again. I smiled to them and assured them not to worry.

**

This is insane! It’s already the last period and I can’t take my mind off… Minho and Yoona. I sighed. Why am I so bothered about this? I feel disappointed and mad at the same time. This is just crazy.

Suddenly the bell rang, means it’s the end of school. I collected my stuffs and put them in my bag, before walking out of class. When I walked outside, I was actually hoping that Minho would be standing in front of the door waiting for me. But none, he didn’t stand there, waiting for me. My disappointment seriously reached to its peak now.

**

Minho’s POV

I was rushing my way out of class to come to Soojung’s history class, which I know was her last period. But on my way out, Yoona stopped me. She gave me a smile, but I just sighed.

“Yoona, I have to go somewhere in a hurry now,” I said but she didn’t bother to move. “Excuse me?”

She shook her head. “Can you take me home?” she asked with the sweetest voice she could ever make, but heck, it doesn’t work on me anymore.

“No,” I answered coldly, before trying to make my way through her.

“Minho,” she called as she took a grab of my arm with both of her hands. I just glanced at her, and to be polite, I gave her a smile.

“Can you please let go? I really need to go somewhere,” I said and she shook her head again.

“We have a lot to catch up, can’t we just hang out for a while?” she suggested.

                “No, Yoona. I can’t.”

“At least let’s have a short chat for now? Five minutes, hm?”

I sighed, before shrugging her hands off my arm. “We caught up with each other enough earlier. I got everything I wanted to know and that’s it.”

“But what I didn’t get what I wanted to know yet,” she said.

“Then maybe tomorrow. It’s not like you’re going to go again tomorrow,” I said sarcastically before leaving her in the empty classroom, alone. She called my name a few times, but I just decided to ignore her and walked away.

I ran to Soojung’s history class, hoping she was still there, waiting for me. But why do I bother expect that? She wouldn’t wait for me, after leaving her for the entire day. I know I wouldn’t if I were her. But I couldn’t help but to wish.

I opened the door to the history classroom and saw that the room was already empty. I felt my heart fell because of disappointment, but I don’t blame her for now waiting for me. Without even thinking, I ran through the halls, heading to the main gate of the school. I just want to see her. I miss her.

Krystal’s POV

“Yo, Kryssie,” I was walking mindlessly until I heard someone called my name. I turned around to see Jonghyun was walking towards me. I looked around to see if his friends were with him, but I saw none. I was kinda glad and disappointed at the same time. I’m glad that I don’t have to face Minho, but then again… I wanna see him. I sighed before forcing a weak smile to him. “You seemed down,” he nudged me before walking beside me.

“I don’t feel so well, I guess?” I answered and he bent down to look at me.

“Well, you do look pale,” he commented. “Then let’s go home, I wanna see your sister too, so I’ll take you home,” he said and I just smiled weakly at him.

“Sure,” I said.

“You didn’t make plans with Minho, right?” he asked. I froze when I heard his name. He looked at me and gave me a questioning look. I parted my mouth to answer him, but nothing came out. He tapped my head. “I’ll take that as a no, then,” he shrugged. “Let’s go.”

We were walking in silence until we reached his car. He opened the car door for me and I got in before thanking him. He walked to the driver’s seat and turned the engine on. He didn’t move for a while until suddenly he spoke up, “Anything wrong with Minho?”

I looked up at him for a while before shaking my head. “Nothing’s wrong,” I smiled forcefully.

He tapped my head once again. “You’re going to be my sister in law sooner or later, so you better treat me like a brother because I’m trying to treat you like a sister, Krystal Jung,” he said before shooting me his charming smile. “So soon-to-be-sister-in-law,” he called, “you can tell me if there’s anything wrong. Especially if it’s related to that stupid giant guy.”

I chuckled at his words. It was kinda a cheer up for me.

He took of his stare at me and started to drive. I stayed quiet for a moment, before deciding to speak up.

“Can I ask you something?” I asked and he nodded.

“As long as you don’t ask about what color of underwear I’m wearing, go ask,” he joked and I couldn’t help but to laugh at him.

“I don’t even wanna know,” I said and he chuckled.

                “Good, so what’s the question?”

“So Yoona is Minho’s ex-girlfriend, right?” I paused, examined Jonghyun’s facial expressions before continuing. He looked calm with my question. “Can you tell me more about her?”

“Ah, jealous of her? Afraid if she’s going to be your rival?” Jonghyun teased and I rolled my eyes. “Well, Yoona is pretty- common information, and she’s on the same year as Minho and Key.”

                I nodded as he explained.

“He broke up with Minho because she had to move to the States, and she said that she wouldn’t come back, but somehow… she’s here now,” he continued.

                “And?”

“Yoona was Minho’s first girlfriend. Uh… what else?”

                I nodded slowly.

“You probably should ask Key for more information about her. Key is more of the social-butterfly than I am.”

“Oh well, thanks anyway,” I gave him a smile, a weak one, still.

“Are you actually jealous of her?” he asked and I paused before answering.

                “I don’t think I’m jealous of her,” I answered.

“But you seemed worried or so.”

                “I do?”

                “You do.”

                I sighed.

“Maybe I’m just feeling… insecure,” I said in the lowest voice I could, though I knew he still could hear.

“Insecure?” he repeated, before stopping the car in front of my house. “You’re afraid if Minho fell for Yoona once again?”

I bit my lower lip before giving him a small nod. “I g-guess…”

He nodded. “Then don’t be. I might not the best adviser, not the best listener, but I knew Minho long enough to know that he won’t,” he assured and somehow he made me feel a bit better.
