“Dongho?”

The hands instantly left my eyes and when I opened them, a happy looking Dongho greeted me. He was seated beside me on the bench, grinning like a happy kid on Christmas. “What’s got you so giddy?” I asked him, a brow raising unknowingly.

He faced me and shrugged nonchalantly. “It’s just a beautiful day.” he says. “My mom used to love cloudy, snowy days like these. It always seemed to calm her mind.” he finished, reminiscing the memory.

“Did you just do that?” I gasp silently.

“Do what?” he asked, getting confused. “Did I say something wrong?”

“No, no,” I chuckle. “It’s just that...you’ve started opening up to me.”

As I continue watching him, his body seemed to tense at my words and I swore I could see his cheeks brighten up. He coughed and made a false alibi to cover up his embarrassment when I mentioned it to him. “You’re my friend, dummy. Of course I’d open up to you.”

I small grin appeared on my face and I pushed him lightly with my side. “Don’t go all mushy on me now, Dongho.”

He laughed and pushed me as well. “You better get used to it then. You’ll be hanging out with me a lot from now on.”

I gave out a little chuckle and fell silent as the snow started to fall from the sky. “The first snow of the season.” I smiled, rubbing my hands together to keep them warm. “I wonder if my mom liked snow.” I whispered.

The tiny specs of cold, massed ice fell on my hair and on my book, making me gasp as a little mark of water started to form on the page where I supposedly stopped reading. With a loud thud, I closed the book and stood up. From my peripheral vision, I saw Dongho stand up as well and face me. “Is it the bell already?” he asks, stretching his arms with a loud groan. “That was fast wasn’t it? I didn’t even hear it ring.”

“It didn’t.” I laughed. “I just have to get going. If I want to keep my scholarship, I’d like to study more is all.” I gave him a small wave and turned to leave.

“H-hey!” he called. “Would you like some hot choco first?!”

I stopped in my tracks and smiled, turning around to face him.
