This story is mainly told in Lee Inhwa's (my OC) POV, however, there will be some other characters (Doyoung, Taeyong, and Shin Mirae(OC)) who may have POVs at some point or another whether they be brief or not.

This is loosely based off the tv show Love Island but this will not really follow how that show goes. I will explain more below.

Contestants/Characters:

Love Island is a show where contestants called 'Islanders' are isolated from the outside world under video surveillance. To survive and remain on the Island Islanders must be coupled up with another Islander, whether it be for love, friendship, or money as the last remaining couple will recieve a cash prize. Any Islander that remains single and uncoupled will be sent packing off of the Island. Islanders can also be voted off via public/audience votes. Couples/Islanders who receive the fewest votes are at risk for going home.

(The version I use in this fanfic is essentially the same but keep in mind that I haven't really watched any season in it's entirety so if you have don't expect a carbon copy of the show in this fic. I've maybe seen 15 minutes of one episode at that's it.)

Terms/Stuff to Know:

Confessionals:

Each Islander is alone with production during their confessionals where they talk about their time in the house and who they potentially couple up with. Confessionals are ways to sort of get inside the Islander's head and see what exactly they are thinking inside the house. There are only a few of these throughout the series.

(Anyone who's seen Big Brother, Love Island, Survivor, or honestly any reality tv show should know what these are.)

Voting Process:

As mentioned above the viewers (fake viewers obviously) will be voting throughout the weeks in my fic. The Islander who receives the least amount of votes goes home in my fic aside from special weeks where no Islander goes home.

Rules in Love Island (my version anyway):

1. Islanders must be coupled up every week by Saturdays at noon as the lone Islander will be sent home that night.

2. Islanders must let production know via confessional that they are coupled up before then or risk being sent home. Both Islanders must tell production to prevent two Islanders being partnered to one individual.

3. Islanders do not have to partner up with the same person until the end of the game. In other words Islanders can switch their partners weekly but must be recoupled by noon on Saturdays.

4. Islanders don't have to be romantically involved with their partners. They can be together for lust, love, money, or friendship.

5. There can only be one couple that wins overall, by the end of 20 weeks (5 months) the viewers (fake viewers) will vote between the final two remaining couples on who will win the cash prize. In the event that only one couple remains coupled they will win.

6. At Week 11 a power is enabled, this power allows an Islander to steal the date of another. Each Islander can only steal a date once and can do so from Week 11 to Week 20. However, in stealing a date from a coupled pair if the person decides to return to their previous coupling even after the date they can do so. So, in other words stealing a date doesn't necessarily guarantee an Islander will be coupled up at the end of the week.

7. Certain weeks when viewers votes are not collected there will be challenges the Islanders will compete in. The winners will not only gain safety but sometimes get benefits others don't. Those who place lowest in challenges risk being sent home or could be sent home right away.

8. Certain weeks multiple couples may be uncoupled and in the event that this happens viewers votes will be used to determine the Islander sent home or it could be stalemate in which no one goes home. This happens at random and mostly depends on how many Islanders remain in the game.

9. So overall, how you appear to the viewers matters. So, an Islander should be watching what they say and do. For example, if an Islander is rude to another they may make the viewers dislike them resulting in fewer votes. Another example, the cuter you are as a couple the more votes you may receive too. So, those coupled up for love may appeal more to the audience or those coupled up for friendship may too.

10. Each Islander has their own queen bed in the beginning but as the Islanders dwindle down the beds do too. If a couple decides to share they can do so. Though each Islander knows they are being filmed 24/7, 7 days a week for 20 weeks. So, they may keep that in mind in doing so.
