Week 2

  It was already day 2 and I hadn’t really spoken to Doyoung much more than I had last week. Was I to assume we were pairing up just like last week? Did I go immediately to confessionals to say we are? I didn’t know.   Mirae and Taeyong were who I usually stuck to and it was beginning to feel weird now that they had stopped talking about gaming and were cuddling up together.   My mind reels back to when I first met with production to talk about the game. Honestly before I made the deal with Doyoung I pushed all the rules aside but now that I stayed past week one it was probably good to remember at least some of what was said.   “You need to appeal to the viewers. You need their votes to get to the end.”   I swallow thickly, there’s no way I’d appeal to the viewers, at least not without trying. My eyes fix on the camera that was pointing towards me, Mirae, and Taeyong.   I suddenly felt embarrassed for being the third wheel so I stand up. Mirae and Taeyong don’t even notice since they were so absorbed in one another.   I find myself in front of Doyoung’s room closed door. Now that I’m here I’m more anxious. What if he didn’t want to see me? Or if someone else was in his room with him? Or maybe he was in someone else’s room?   Stupidity gets the best of me as I let my forehead rest against his door which proceeds to leave a knocking sound on it. I back away quickly, “,” I mouth.   “Come in.” Doyoung’s muffled voice calls out.   My eyes zero in on the door handle and I nervously reach out for it opening the door. When the door is open I find Doyoung is still in his bed, hair messy, comforter hanging off of his shoulder.   He seems surprised that it’s me opening the door which makes me embarrassed again. Was he waiting for someone else?   “Hey, Inhwa.” He smiles softly.   “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you.” I say quickly turning to leave. Even though I knew he has probably been up for awhile due to production not allowing him to sleep.   “No no, it’s okay. You didn’t.” He calls out causing me to freeze. I turn back to him and he waves me inside. “Did you need something?”   I close the door behind me and move to stand closer to him but also not. My eyes roam his room, it was a carbon copy of my room aside from his luggage being stored in the corner of it.   “I just…it was getting awkward being Mirae and Taeyong’s third wheel.” I awkwardly rub at my arms. “And I know we need votes to stay and that requires the viewers liking us and it doesn’t seem like it’s going to be easy.”   Doyoung snorts, “Why is that?”   “I don’t feel very likable. Especially since I was kind of brunt in my introduction.” I shrug. “I wasn’t planning on staying past week one so I didn’t care what people thought of me.”   He shakes his head chuckling under his breath, “I think you’re very likable. Plus I know many of us were amazed you had the guts to do that. I admire you.”   I stay silent, was that what people really thought?   Doyoung hums, “I suppose though that people need to like us as a couple too.” He scratches at his head. “We should get to know one another better.” He scoots back on his bed patting the end of it for me to sit.   I awkwardly move forward sitting down on it. He claimed it lasted a month due to her being immature.   Overall I learned a lot about him. He was mature, well-mannered, family-oriented, nice, had a nice neck, pretty hands and fingers, and well overall good looking.   But I’d never admit that to a
