Chapter Twenty Three
The Fate of CheatersJinae paused when she turned to look back at what or more like at who Lucas was barking at.
”T-Taehyung. I thought you were in Daegu.” she stuttered, stumbling a few steps behind as she looked back at the man across her.
Taehyung seemed worn out. Literally WORN OUT. He seemed as if he was sleepless for the past nights. The calls and the outgoing calls, and the countless messages he sent, he was expecting were never answered. Efficiently he grew anxious by just waiting for Jinae’s respond alone. He felt his world crashing along when he turned dead worried about her.
Taehyung was mad. Not at Jinae but at his own self. He was mad at the selfish man he was, at the coward man that couldn’t take responsibility of his own mess. Taehyung hated being that Taehyung.
The female watched him with a frown as he continued standing still before he eventually marched towards her, not knowing if he was actually angry or not since his orbs felt odd. Taehyung instead pulls her towards him by the waist and his other hand was behind her head.
Jinae was startled by the sudden action but her stand remain glued on the ground, totally not moving as if she was a rock.
“I’m sorry Jinae, I’m really sorry. I can’t afford to lose you nor the baby. I want to continue being a part of your life. Please give me a chance to love you again.” Taehyung cried as his head nuzzled on the crook of her neck.
She gulped, feeling her heart ache. He was asking a chance so they could start over. She was trying to stop herself holding him because if she did, she knew the cycle would be back. She’d be deceived by a lie, she’d find out, they’d fight, make up and the cycle continues.
“Taehyung, there’s no baby.” Jinae managed to let the words out.
Taehyung stopped and pulled back, letting his hand hold her face. “You aborted the baby? Did you lose the baby?” His voice let out a shaky tone, almost as if he was to faint. His eyes were wide open and he internally prayed that Jinae, didn’t actually had the heart to go through abortion. Never in his whole life, he had ever been this scared to get a response.
She could clearly see the concern, fear and panic that shook around his eyes. He cares. He actually does. Jinae thought, watching him with sad eyes.
“There was never a baby, Tae. The test was a false positive. It was all because of stress.” Jinae explains and the concern never left him, even when she was expecting him to be exhaling a good sound of relief
He apologized again and pulling her into his arms, “I’m sorry, Ji, I had let you down. Please give me a chance to start over. You know how I feel about you. You know how sincere my feelings for you are.”.
Both of their hearts clenched, and Jinae continued staring at him with the saddest eyes. She had promised herself she’d let herself be better but also a part of her now, just wanted to be with him. But she had already acknowledged her limits.
“Tae,there’s nothing you can do. You know that we both can’t. We are just too toxic for each other.”
“I’m willing to change, Ji. If that would make you happy. I want to continue being a part of your life.” He cried. His cheeks were wet with his tears not stopping, leaving his eyes and nose red. He was a mess.
“Please don’t make this harder than it already is. Tae
