You were overthinking after talking with Dongmin since yesterday. You were just always staring at nowhere and became a mess as you bumped into almost everyone because you were so distracted for all the sensible things Dongmin had showered you. And with those words was the picture of Baekhyun turning away from you.

It was a Saturday morning that's why you didn't have classes so you directly went to the studio room in order to compose a song. You told yourself that you had to create one or else you'd back out and just choreograph a song.

You mindlessly settled inside the room and opened your notebook and read some of the songs you had composed before that could be played in the concert.

As you looked in front of you, you were startled seeing Baekhyun looking at you. Your heart started beating fast out of surprise and you could see that Baekhyun was amused by your reaction, having that little smirk on the corner of his lips.

You then arranged yourself and greeted him, "I-I didn't see you there."

You could sense that it was alright for you to talk to Baekhyun now as he stated, "That's a given since you can't see me after all."

You then pouted and said that he was wrong, but you didn't say that your mind was filled with him. "I-I'm just stressed out."

Baekhyun nodded. You continued, "I hadn't written a single lyric for the concert. I might give up." You sighed and asked him if he could let you see what he was writing, and of course, he refused.

He just said, "Write from your heart."

You then hit your head on the table, "What if I don't know what's in my heart." You continuously bump your head on the table while wailing.

You could hear that Baekhyun chuckled and your heartbeat went faster. How much as you wanted to see his smiling face again, you couldn't get up because he'd just see your blushing face. So you just continued what you're doing, just a little harder this time.

Baekhyun could hear how hard you're hitting yourself so he stopped you by placing his hand on your head. "Yah, stop that, Jieun. That won't help you." He held the back of your head firmly and you just let him as you wailed again and again.

Your wailing stopped when you felt that Baekhyun placed his forehead on top of the back of your head. That moment felt like everything stopped for a moment as if you're floating on air. "You know what's in your heart, Jieun." You gulped at his words, it's as if he's whispering so close to you as you also felt a knock in your heart, "Just accept it."

Suddenly, you heard someone was at the door, making you two get up immediately. You bumped on Baekhyun's head, causing him to wince. So you got up and tap his forehead gently, "I'm sorry! I'm sorry, Baekhyun!"

Baekhyun said, "It's okay. I'm alright." And he chuckled because he, too, was surprised at what happened. And there you didn't only get to see his smile, but you also saw him laugh. And that was enough for you.

Afterwards, you went towards the door where someone was hiding. You peeked on the door and saw Luhan looking at you teasingly. You were relieved because it was him. And he greeted you as he gestured a heart shaped on his face, "Love, love, love?"

You laughed at it and cursed him before dragging him inside and the three of you settled inside the studio, focusing on doing your work.

You were extra happy this day because Jisoo and Naeun were around. You immediately went to them in lunch time and ran towards them as if a child.

"I miss you two!" you wailed at them and they both laughed at you because they also knew what you were feeling towards Hyeran and Baekhyun since they never fail to ask you about it almost everyday.

Naeun then took a good look at you and noticed that something happened. "You seemed in a good mood." She said and Jisoo then looked at your eyes and you got awkward because they were seeking out the truth out of you. But you're not yet ready to tell them what happened earlier and you've told Luhan to not spill things to the two yet. I need to sort my feelings first.

"Well, because I finally have the lyrics for my performance in the concert~" you happily told them the news and they were both glad for you. "How about you two?"

"Well, me and Kyungsoo are working on it. I think he'll work on the studio next week." Jisoo said and Naeun said that she and Jongin were doing the choreography.

You suddenly felt jealous because they all work in pairs, while you could only work alone. Although, you set that aside because you wanted to keep being happy even just for a day so you smiled at them and gobbled up some food in the canteen.

"So, what's new, Jieun?" Naeun asked you suspiciously and you knew that she was asking for your status with Baekhyun.

You could still remember what happened earlier but you didn't tell them about that yet. You said, "Still the same." You munched on your food then continued, "I think I am busy and am just too happy that I get to write the lyrics for the song."

"Yeah, and I think we should be doubling our time to finish it since the concert would be next week." Jisoo said and you could hear in her voice the weariness.

You nodded at what she said, "We need to work harder. Ah, Naeun's lucky, she didn't have to write anything." You pouted at her and stretched your arms and back.

Naeun then opposed since she was not only stressed in the choreography, but also architecture. "Yeah, I'm not composing anything but I always die whenever I'm doing my drawings and plates in our subjects." And there you noticed the bags under her eyes.

"So that means we're all exhausted." Jisoo said. And you all sighed.

To continue the conversation, you asked Naeun, "You know Dongmin, right?" Naeun then nodded and asked, "What about him?"

You answered, "He's in your department too, right? Is he like, popular there because of his face or something? Is he friendly or has sharp tongue?" you asked since you couldn't get over what he told you.

Then Jisoo raised her eyebrow at you and smiled at you as she poked your side, "Little curious about a first year, huh?" And she winked at you.

"N-No, I'm not. It's just that, he can really get a little too friendly sometimes." You told them and the two asked what you're meaning to say. "Well, he kind'a told me things or 'scolded' me about things with Baekhyun."

And there they got more curious. "Why? He's cautious of Baekhyun because of you?"

"No! Don't be ridiculous. Scolded like how Jisoo tells me the truth our of everything." You clarified to them and there they also thought about who Dongmin really was.

"But, does he have a girlfriend?" Jisoo asked you and you told her that you didn't know. She then concluded, "Well, for him to know and observe things between you and Baekhyun, he must have always been looking at you."

You once again told her that she's not making any sense but then Naeun said, "Yeah, that can be true, Jieun. Since we only met him two weeks ago, yet he can read you and Baekhyun. That just means that he is interested in you."

"Don't tell me you're going to do what you did to Baekhyun, Jieun." Jisoo snapped at you and she continued, "Don't repeat your mistake this time, if ever Dongmin likes you."

You then felt guilty once again because everything came back. Jisoo continued to scold you, "Don't runaway, Jieun, okay?" you couldn't help but to just nod at everything Jisoo was saying, but also, you took it seriously, too.

"There's just one way to break down the chances that Dongmin might like you." Naeun suddenly said and you both looked at her. Naeun said, "You should ask Dongmin if he has a girlfriend."

"Won't that just make him think that I like him?" You were worried about how Dongmin would see you as. But Naeun shook her head, "Just tell him that someone in your class was asking, he's really popular in our department too, so it's not new to him." Naeun told you what the plan was and you couldn't help but to just agree to what they were asking you to do. These girls, really.

You went back in the studio after lunch and you were surprised to see Hyeran standing beside Baekhyun. She was also surprised that you arrived. You gave her a smile and she did, too. Although you noticed that it was a faint smile.

So you concluded in your mind, She must really have been bothered with what she watched yesterday. You smiled because you knew that Hyeran was a good girl, and you wanted to be friends with her. You looked at her as she smiled at Baekhyun who was eating his lunch. I'm sorry, I can't be friends with you.

You could feel your heart squeezing as you heard Hyeran saying, "Does the lunch taste alright?" your attention was all in for them. You could hear the faint response of Baekhyun and you knew that Hyeran was smiling, "Good! I'll make lunch for tomorrow, too!"

You asked yourself if Baekhyun and Hyeran were going out already since it seemed that she always made Baekhyun his lunch. You looked at them at the corner of your eye and you could see Baekhyun was awkward, "You don't really have to do this, Hyeran."

But Hyeran insisted, "Don't worry about it! There's so much food in our home, I'm practicing too!" and there's nothing Baekhyun could do about it.

Hyeran stayed there for a while and you felt suffocated at every second you hear her voice. And you also noticed that Baekhyun wasn't that different towards Hyeran and with you before that's why it's really confusing you. Has he really moved on?

You subtly looked at them and could see them laughing and smiling at each other. You sighed and went back to your notebook, "Oh, I really know what's in my heart."

The whole afternoon was hell for you because you and Baekhyun, once again, went back to being strangers. Your eyes always met but you both always turned away and be awkward and all. Luhan also noticed it because you two were bubbly earlier and now it's different. But Hyeran was inside the studio room the whole time so Luhan didn't ask anymore.

The practice had ended and you immediately went to Naeun and Jisoo who were with Jongin and Kyungsoo and the group. You latched your arms to them and requested, "Please ditch your boyfriends and be with me this time."

And there they looked around to see what was going on. And when they saw Baekhyun and Hyeran walked out the studio. Luhan then made a face when he saw Naeun and Jisoo looking at them.

Naeun and Jisoo then got curious, "Oh my gosh, what's she doing there?!" Both had the same reaction as you had earlier. You just shrugged your shoulders and were planning to tell them what you're feeling towards Baekhyun now that you've confirmed it.

But then Naeun pointed at Dongmin wherein Jisoo suddenly remembered what you should do. Jisoo then whispered at you, "Hey, Dongmin's there. You should ask him already!" and she pushed you towards Dongmin.

You cursed her for being the she was and there you saw Dongmin asking what you're up to. You just couldn't help but to stick with what the two girls wanted. Dongmin then looked at Baekhyun who was looking at the two of you but eventually turned away. Dongmin then smirked, "What, you want to go home with me?"

Then you made a disgusted face to Dongmin, "What?"

"Well, it looked like you wanted to go home together, like yesterday." Dongmin was sure teasing Baekhyun as he knew that Baekhyun had his whole attention towards the two of you, and Dongmin found it amusing to watch. They're idiots.

"Have you forgotten that I'm your senior?" you scolded him and pointed out, "Don't forget that you're nothing when it comes to directions!" you sneered at him and he immediately pulled your wrist and started walking.

It was outside the school gates when he let go of your hand. Dongmin then looked at you who were glaring at him. "What do you want?" he said.

You didn't imagine that Dongmin was like this. "Don't think now that you knew something about me that you act this way. You're being too friendly! We're not that close!"

Then Dongmin rolled his eyes and that surprised you. You thought that he was a sweet guy. "What do you want?"

You wanted to just end things immediately that's why you blurted out, "Do you have a girlfriend?"

That made Dongmin surprised and the others around, too. You looked around and saw Baekhyun and Hyeran on the other side of the road, looking at you. You cursed yourself, Talk about bad timing! This is Dongmin's fault!

Dongmin knew that you're asking it not because you liked him. So he was thinking what your reason was. Still, he answered truthfully. "None. I have no girlfriend."

"Okay!" and you immediately ran towards the bus stop because everything was just not going your way. You saw how Baekhyun was so surprised when he heard you ask Dongmin about that. And also, you heard the slight sad tone in Dongmin's voice when he answered your question. You wondered if you made a mistake.

You've arrived home and were welcomed by your mother looking worried, she had a small smile on her face when you greeted her. You immediately changed your clothes and went downstairs and asked her what the problem was.

"It's nothing to worry about." She smiled at you and tried her best to hide it from you. But it was your mother looking all sad so you couldn't just let her carry all the burden alone. So you insisted.

Your mother then made you sit on the dining area to talk to you about the problem. She was hesitant at first but then she got up the courage to tell you, "Your father cannot send us money for the mean time because the company he's working at got closed."

And it seemed that your mother couldn't do anything about it because she was already busy with food orders and you also didn't want her to work more. "Then me and Jongin can work, right?" you suggested to your mother and she was shocked.

"I don't want to burden you two, honey. You two are students and you should just focus on studying." Your mother said, "I should be the one working and provide your needs for the mean time. I know that your father will be able to apply again."

Then you held your mother's hand and assured her, "Yah Mom, you know that right from the start we aren't really focused on our studies since we have our clubs and concerts like every two months. But we'll work harder then. We get paid with our concerts but it's not enough for our weekly budget, so we have to just apply for something." You explained to your mother.

Your mom heard how practical you were and she hesitantly agreed, "Promise me that if you ever get tired, you'll resign and by then, I will work harder with the orders."

"Yes, we'll do our best." You hugged your mom and by then, Jongin arrived home. Jongin found it odd because your mother seemed sad while hugging you when the usual was she was always happy when you hugged her, so he knew that there was a problem.

You and your mother explained to Jongin what was your situation and he immediately agreed, "There's hiring in the supermarket around the downtown, but apparently they're only hiring males." Jongin said and was determined that he'd apply there as a part-timer. Then Jongin turned to you, "I'll ask my blockmates if they knew some part-time work, and while you're applying, check the background of the store or company first, alright?" he reminded you like the caring brother he was and you noted what he said.

You walked to the school the next day to look around the blocks where cafés or stores could be hiring but you found none. That got you exhausted early in the morning.

Kyungsoo asked you what happened and you told him what your situation was. "Then we could ask our blockmates about that." The others suggested and they went all out to ask about a part-time job.

You were so happy when you got a lot of notes and addresses where you could apply for a part-time job. I will look around after class. You smiled at the notes like your exhaustion had disappeared.

After your class, you immediately bid goodbye to your group and told them that you'd apply for a job. Before you arrive at the school gates, Jongin ran up to you. "Jieun!"

You stopped and told him to make it fast so that you could look around faster and earlier. And he told you what his business was. "I can't really tell you this yesterday because we had a problem but I'm requesting something."

You could see that Jongin was embarrassed so you clapped your hands in front of him and told him, "Yah, spit it out."

He scratched the back of his head and sheepishly requested, "Do you already have all the lyrics to ones you're composing?" he started and there you knew what he was up to.

"Okay, I will make a song about you and Naeun." You immediately responded and your brother's eyes shone in glee. "10:00 AM tomorrow in the studio, you're free?" you asked him for his schedule and he immediately nodded his head. "Okay~" you told him and he walked together with you until the bus stop.

"I have to go to that convenience store, be careful on your way home. You shall be home by 8:00 PM, alright? Don't let your phone be out of battery because I'll be calling you every now and then." You nodded to everything your brother said and he bid goodbye to you by placing his hand on the top of your head before he rode the bus.

You then went to the first address your blockmate had given you and it was posted on the window glass of the store that they're hiring. You looked at the interior of the establishment and you nodded since it seemed okay. But when you asked for the application, they told you that they're not accepting part-timers because one of their full-time employees resigned. You thanked them and left the store.

The next address was a few blocks away from the other one so you just walked towards the store. But when you looked at it and around the store, you didn't like the atmosphere because there were a lot of butts of cigarettes and guys loitering around. So you took a cab and went to the next address.

You went inside a clothing establishment and they interviewed you for 10 minutes. They asked you about how to deal with customers and what to suggest if a customer needed some opinion. You walked out the establishment feeling embarrassed because you didn't think you nailed that one since you didn't really like to dress up so you didn't know what to answer to their questions earlier. They told you that they'd call you but you bet that they wouldn't.

Ah, my 30 minutes got wasted. You pouted and looked at the time. I still got 1 and a half hour. You told yourself that you should really get employed today and you were desperate.

You went to another three stores half a mile from your school. And you pouted because they could hire you either. You were about to go to another store until Jongin called, indicating that you should go home already and there you noticed that it was already dark.

How much as you wanted to look for the job, your safety came first so you prepared yourself to go home. You were waiting for the bus stop on that area and dozed off for a little 5 minutes since a bus arrived although it was not your route back home.

You sighed because it was getting late. You stood up so you wouldn't doze off on that bus stop. "Jieun?!" a familiar voice called you and you were surprised just as much as he was surprised. "What are you doing here?! It's already late!" Baekhyun was frantic because he could see that you were tired and sweating.

It was new to you that Baekhyun scolded you like that so you stuttered, "I-I am about to go home." You smiled sheepishly at him. "Please go on your way." You bid goodbye at him.

But you hadn't answered his question so he stayed right there, still glaring at you as if you're a child. So you told him, "I'm looking for a job around this area."

Baekhyun's eyebrows met and reminded you, "This place is half a mile away from school, and school is another half a kilometre to your home."

"But still, it's just a bus away from school and another bus away to home~" you tried to look fine with that but Baekhyun didn't buy it as he shook his head.

"You should go home and just go look for a job around your area. This is too dangerous, Jieun." And you smiled at him, remembering how he was really caring for you before. "It's not the time to smile, Jieun." He told you firmly and with that, your smiled faded away. Grumpy Baekhyun.

"I'm here because I'm waiting for my bust home, okay? So just go home, too. It's late." You told him but he just stayed right there. He sighed at you, "Ah, what do I do to you." Baekhyun looked at you and you suddenly felt embarrassed.

I'm sweating, aren't I? You suddenly felt conscious of how you looked like right then because you were with a silver-haired handsome Byun Baekhyun. "My bus will arrive at any moment so you could go on your way." You smiled at him and you could see that he clenched his teeth at what you're saying. So you bowed your head, "I'm sorry. But don't worry about me anymore. I'll just take a bus and go home. You can stop worrying and go on with your life." You sheepishly and awkwardly told him.

Silence draped between the two of you as you two were waiting for you bus to arrive. Your head was hanging around as you dozed off once again. But as you saw your bus from a distance, you got up and told Baekhyun, "My bus is here!" Baekhyun was just looking across the street and ignored you. But you had to bid goodbye to him, "I'm sorry for wasting your time." and you went inside the bus.

You sat at the back of the bus where there were not much people. You settled in your seat and looked to where Baekhyun was and were surprised because he was not there. You pouted and looked around that street but you didn't see him, "Huh? Where's Baekhyun?" you focused your eyes on the street.

But then you jumped on your seat when you saw Baekhyun already inside the bus. "Yah, why did you get in?!" you whispered at him as he sat beside you, still having that grumpy face.

Baekhyun didn't answer your question so you just talked and talked, "Yah, you still have classes tomorrow, it's already 8:30 and when you'd get back, that'd be 9:00! Your time would be wasted! Please get off." You didn't want to burden Baekhyun.

But he told you, "Just shut up and rest all the way home." You stared at him and you didn't know what got your heart beating faster. You were embarrassed yet happy that he's beside you right now.

"I'll compensate for this, alright?" You told Baekhyun and gave him money for the amount he spent for his bus ride.

"You don't have to give anything in return." Baekhyun then looked at you once again. But you pouted at him because you didn't know how to respond to that. Then suddenly Baekhyun pushed you to lean back to your seat which surprised you, "J-just sit properly and look out the window."

You chuckled at what he said because you could see that he was blushing with that grumpy face of his. Yet, you did what he told you to do.

You were elated by the feeling that you were beside Baekhyun. After realizing what you're feeling for him, you noticed all the things that he was doing for you and you questioned yourself for how long you liked Baekhyun and why you only realized it now.

You subtly looked at Baekhyun who was now had his eyes closed. You stared at him as you asked him questions you wanted to ask. Do you still like me? You smiled and wished that he still did. You're hopeful this time since he wouldn't be with you right now at this time of the night if he didn't, right?

But then an image of Hyeran pulling out a lunch box for Baekhyun made you ask him, "Baekhyun, are you and Hyeran going out?" you pouted and stared at him, seeing if Baekhyun was really asleep. But then he didn't respond so blurted out what you're thinking of. "You know, I wish you don't." and you chuckled because you could actually tell Baekhyun what you're feeling.

"Just like before." You sighed. Then you went back looking at the window and shared everything to the sleeping Byun Baekhyun, "Then allow me to share my problems with you." You started to explain your situation to him, "My dad couldn't provide for us anymore that's why we have to apply for a part-time job. Jongin is already hired that's why I'm doing my best to help immediately."

You then chuckled at your problems in life, "Do you know, Baekhyun, why my dad can't provide for us anymore?" you smiled as your eyes brimmed with tears, "My father has another family. Me and Jongin are the only ones who knew about it. My mother doesn't."

You're sad but you didn't cry anymore. "How did we know about that? We saw him just before he left to go to Italy. Me and Jongin were about to surprise him before leaving with the letters we wrote for him, but he's with his another family, saying good bye and tearing up."

You thought of your father, "Maybe we're all too old for him to be happy anymore, right? We're not cute anymore, my mother is old, maybe that's the reason why he left us."

Then you realized something, "Oh, maybe that's why I was preoccupied with falling in love with Kyungsoo." You chuckled at your reason, "Maybe because I know that Kyungsoo's the only guy I know who wouldn't leave me behind just like that."

You sighed and then looked at Baekhyun's sleeping face, you smiled at him, "And before, it was you." Then you took it back, "I mean, even now, even though I hurt you, you're still here and didn't really leave me on my own."

And you slowly dozed off before saying, "Thank you, Baekhyun." And let yourself be lulled into sleep on Baekhyun's shoulder.

The bus ride home felt longer since you've got a slightly good rest. The bus arrived at school and the both of you got off. You then immediately told Baekhyun before he could insist, "You could go home now, Baekhyun. I know that our bus ride home is safe. You could just wait for me here until my bus arrives, okay?" you suggested and Baekhyun couldn't say no since it's already late.

You were relieved when Baekhyun agreed and the both of you waited for your bus in silence. You were quite relaxed around him because of the things you let our earlier. And Baekhyun found your smile creepy.

Your bus arrived a little later. You bowed your head to Baekhyun and said, "Thank you for accompanying me! Please be careful on your way home." You smiled happily at him and took a step inside the bus.

But then suddenly Baekhyun called you. You looked at him but he seemed at a loss for words, so he just bump the top of your head with his palm softly and bid goodbye.

With that gesture, your face blushed and you shouted at him, "Goodbye!" and ran inside to your seat and subtly took a peek to Baekhyun who was still staring at you. Your heart beat faster and your face felt hot and you tried to calm yourself down but Baekhyun smile at the end didn't help you feel composed. What are you doing, Baekhyun?
