Comeback
Behind The Limelight
I stood among the fast-paced walking of the people at the airport, still waiting for Hyuk Jae to arrive. Forty-five minutes had passed since i started standing here. It ached the muscles in my legs. Some fans who recognized me took pictures with me. I entertained myself with them, and it seemed to me that it would be a start of a genuine friendship. I looked around me to see if Hyuk Jae was around, but he wasn't in sight.
My phone beeped indignantly again, and it was from Hyuk Jae how the hell did he get my number?
Look around. I'm here. It said.
I zoomed my eyes around the place, and there he was, waving at me. I smiled and then rushed to where he was. We gave each other a tight hug, hopefully thinking that we could patch up all the years that we lost.
“Hyuk Jae...” I uttered his name out of happiness.
He broke free from our bond and looked at me in the eyes. He smiled afterwards, which i didn't know why.
“You've changed a lot.” he said, cupping my face in his hands. I took it away from me and frowned.
“Hey, rumors might spread, dude.” I warned.
He laughed out loud. “So, you're really a celebrity now?”
“Yeah. I was lucky enough to be given a big break. How about you? Are you making your own name?”
He put an arm around me as we walked to the parking lot.
“Yeah, I'm making it big. I started out in the production, then became a director.”
“Good for you. Let's stop at my apartment and have some lunch. Eun Bi is cooking kimchi and bibimbap.”
When his eyes met mine, I saw a slight hint of confusion.
“Eun Bi? You mean the famous Go Eun Bi?”
I nodded. This was just one of those days where I can be with him. I suddenly felt the urge to make up for the six lost years that we spent apart.
He became so excited that he ran fast, dragging me with his arm still around my shoulders.
