Silence was all I could conclude at that very hour. If there was one thing that I could hear, it was the steady beating of the machine. For a moment, I wondered if I was in a coma or something. I saw a perfectly white pavement and thick whisps of clouds in front of me. I walked endlessly and without any direction. Seconds passed, and I swung my eyes open.

“Dong Hae.” Eun Bi uttered when I glanced at her direction. She was worried, and I could see that she was teary-eyed.

I moaned out of bodily pain. The world around me was blurry. I blinked twice, and everything became clear.

“Don't move. It will hurt you.” Min Yeong, Eun Bi's boyfriend said.

I forced my head to nod and obey him. My eyes searched around for Hyuk Jae. He wasn't in sight, or probably busy with his work.

“You should've been more careful. Look at what happened. You caused me a lot of worry.” she scolded.

“I'm sorry.” I said brightly. I wore my biggest smile, because when it comes to her, I don't have to sound so apologetic.

The door suddenly opened. It revealed a fast-walking Hyuk Jae with a panicky expression that seemed to dominate his face. He stormed on the side of my bed.

“Are you alright?” he asked.

“I'm fine.” I replied.

“Hyuk Jae, we have to go. You better take care of him.” Eun Bi excused herself and her boyfriend for a while. This was the perfect timing for me. Finally I had him all to myself.

“What did exactly happen?” he asked again, and this time, he sat on the edge of my bed.

“I-I remembered the accident. I couldn't stop myself from shaking. I'm sorry. The shooting is delayed because of me.”

I was shocked when he put his hand on mine.

“Don't worry, I'm not blaming you. You need to get well soon. We'll be waiting for you.” he said reassuringly.

My heart skipped a thousand beats. I felt little tingling sensation running down along my veins when his hand moved a little. He smiled at me, and that seemed to occupy my thoughts. I smiled back, and my heart went back to its normal cycle, but this time, beating Hyuk Jae's name. I was falling for him harder than I expected.
