CHAPTER 7

“Yeri-ah…” Seulgi called when she saw Yeri heading towards the door going outside “Where are you going?”

“I don’t want to be anywhere near here when Joy unnie break the news to Irene unnie.” Yeri answered “I was there when they broke up, I saw two of them on the bed and I survived both… but this…I can’t. I can’t be here.”

Seulgi understand Yeri, she have the same sentiments to, who would’ve wanted to witness that kind of heartbreak, right?

Seulgi nodded “I’ll stay just in case… I guess it’s my turn to bear witness then.”

“I’ll be at Saeron’s…” Yeri said “Let me—“ but before she could finish what she’s going to say, the door opens and revealed Irene.

“What are you two doing there?” Irene asked, she just got back from her schedule.

“I’m just telling Seulgi unnie that I’m going to Saeron’s, her parents went out of town so…” Yeri said “I’ll just call Joy unnie that I won’t be here.”

“She’s already at the parking, she just called” Irene said Yeri mentally cursed as Seulgi stiffened “Why don’t you stay for a while for what Joy is going to tell then you can go after our dinner.”

“I’m sorry.” Seulgi apologizes to Yeri, they are now sitting at the sofa, while Irene changes her clothes “If I hadn’t stop you earlier, you wouldn’t be here.”

“It’s not your fault and it doesn’t matter now, here or not nothing would change.” Yeri answered “The outcome will still be the same.”

“Not if I talk to Joy first.” Seulgi said then went out of the dorm.

“Seulgi-unnie…” Joy called when she saw Seulgi standing by the door “What are you doing here outside?”

Seulgi rushed to her and she pulled her to the side.

“Is something wrong?” Sooyoung asked worriedly

Seulgi took a deep breath “Can you not do this, please?”

Joy frown “What?”

“Whatever it is you wanted to tell us tonight, don’t” Seulgi said “Don’t do this please, I’m begging you.”

“It’s been a long time and—“

“I know you think that this is right and this is the right time, I’m telling you it’s not so please stop it before it get—“

“This will be out on the news soon so before it does I want you guys to hear it from me.”

Seulgi felt her body tense, “Are you even thinking straight when you decided to…”

‘There was lot of empty bottles of alcohol on the floor and there were clothes everywhere…’

‘And in the bed…. They were both , sleeping together…’

“No, you weren’t’” Seulgi shut her eyes, remembering what Yeri told her

“I know sometimes I make rush decision but I thought about this a lot an—“

“Well, clearly not enough!” Seulgi raised her voice before she realize “I’m sorry, I didn’t mea—“ she stop when she saw the sad look on Joy’s face

“And I thought you’d be happy for me.”
