Prologue

Start of Something New

"Mom, I can walk by myself. I'm already 17." Yuri said, getting her backpack from the back seat of the car.

"I know. But I just want to walk you to school this time. You don't know how proud I am that you're now studying here. Finally, you accepted it." Mrs. Jo said looking at the campus right in front of them.

Enozi Multi Arts High. A school that every parent wants their children to attend to. Just the name of the school on your resume can land you a job in no time. Why? Well, simply because this school is known for being strict and only intellectuals and those who have potentials are accepted.

Yuri is lucky enough to be a part of them because of her achivements during Primary and and Middle school. But surprisingly, she didn't accepted it at first.

"Yuri," her mom continued. "Can you see it now? This is the perfect school for you. There are so many opportunities here-"

"Oh, look!" Yuri said, acting surprised while looking at her watch. "I think I'm already late. You don't want your daughter to make a scene on her first day in this perfect school, right? Sorry, but I gotta go, Mom." She then bid goodbye and ran to the school gate to avoid another speech from her mother. When she arrived at the entrance, she saw a black - haired girl waiting in the bike parking area nearby.

"Kwangbae!" Yuri yelled. Its Hyewon, her cousin.

"Yuri! Stop calling me that name." Hyewon said, almost like a whisper. She's also looking around to see if any other students heard it.

"Sorry. I just... missed you." Yuri apologized. They've been classmates since Primary up to Middle School. It's just that when Hyewon accepeted the offer in Enozi while Yuri went to Wiz Performing Arts, they lost communication.

"So, what are we still doing here? It's already time, we should go to our rooms now-"

"No. Not yet." Hyewon replied to the now confused Yuri.

"Huh? Why?"

"Okay. I need to tell you this before we go. I know that you're a very bubbly person, Yuri. And I also know that your parents have been convincing you for the past years to attend here. They might tell you good things about Enozi. But let me tell you this. Only 30% of them are true. So don't get your hopes up here." Hyewon explained. Yuri just nodded at her cousin. She sure changed. Hyewon is once a loud girl, saying whatever she wants with no sugar coating. But now, she became a shy, quiet and timid girl.

After the conversation, Hyewon led her cousin to their room. Fortunately, they're classmates in all of their subjects. Just like any other transferees, Yuri started with an introduction. Time passed and both Yuri and Hyewon are now seating inside the cafeteria. They're eating quietly when someone just sat next to Hyewon.

"What happened to you?" Hyewon worriedly asked the red - haired girl. Her tray is empty and her clothes have stains of coffee.

"Nothing new. Just those men." the girl said like she is used to the incident. "Now, who's this new gal?"

"Minju, this is Yuri, my cousin. Yuri, this is Minju." Hyewon introduced them to each other. Both smiled and lightly bowed.

"I can see that you don't have any food with you. Here, take this." Yuri said, handing out a corn dog to Minju. At first, the other lady is hesitant, but Yuri insisted and so she finally accepted it.

"Sorry for hesistating. I'm just new to this. You're cousin didn't share her food to me even once." Minju joked that made Yuri laugh. They continued to talk and know each other when a bunch of boys went behind Minju. The red-haired girl, on the other hand, is unbothered. When she felt like they're about to do something, that when Minju spoke.

"Go. Do something. Just let me all remind you that there's a CCTV inside the cafeteria." Minju threatened the men while she continue eating. The boys scanned the area and realized that what Minju said was right. They all decided to exit the canteen but before they does, one of them, presumably their leader, leaned down to whisper something on Minju's ear.

"I'm going to get you next time."

When all of them left, a bang on the table was heard. It was the table next to them. The tall girl who made the noise is just looking directly at Minju. Hyewon just smirked when she noticed that Minju is not even looking at the other table.

"You're really ignoring her, aren't you?"

"What do you mean?"

"You think you can hide it well, Minju? I know you. I'm your friend, remember? Now, tell me the truth. What happened between you and-"

"I have to go." Minju suddenly stood up. "Thanks for the food, Yuri. By the way, in case you need help or anything, I'm on Class 2-2."

"W-Wait, Minju! Those men... they might be waiting for you outside." Yuri said, still troubled about the event that happened few seconds ago.

"I'm not afraid of them anymore," Minju confidently replied.

"But-"

"But if you're still worried about me, then I will use the other door. Pretty sure those men will not even think about that possibility. I really need to go. Let's just meet on Math Class." Minju said, waving goodbye to both Hyewon and Yuri.

"I-I can't understand. How come those ill-mannered guys passed? I thought Enozi is strict when it comes to students they accept." Yuri spoke. Kwangbae chuckled at her statement.

"I told you that only 30% of what they said is true. It's not those intellectuals or those who have potentials can attend here. It's more like those talented or those who have money can go here."

Yuri is left speechless, still analyzing what her cousin have just said. Hyewon then invited her for a little walk inside the campus.

"I really thought I already knew Enozi because my parents will tell stories about it every single time. I didn't know that it was just a facade."

"We're just the same, you know. I thought that this is the best school. I didn't know that I just signed up for hell." Hyewon said, looking down on the ground.

"So, um," Yuri said, trying to change the topic. "What is really happening to Minju. I just want to know if I can help."

"I'm just going to tell you this because I know that you can be trusted. But never tell anyone okay?" Hyewon asked, receiving a nod from Yuri.

"Well, Minju was known here in the campus because of her ethereal features. And those men, they want her. Not love, just want. They want to get Minju just for their pride, to have something to brag about, and for... You already know what else." Hyewon said.

"She tried to tell this to the uppers, but they just talked to them. The next week, Minju's family business has been closed for unknown reason and Minju already knew why. She's still studying here because she has a scholarship. Until now, they still try to get her. Always cornering her, using her classmates to make her agree. But Minju is a very smart girl. She always find a reason to escape every situation, just like what she did in the cafeteria earlier."

Yuri is shocked at what she just heard. Is this what they call the perfect school? Then, another question popped up inside the girl's mind.

"Then why is the tall girl from the other table looked like she's about to burst? She even banged her fist on the table when she saw those men lean on Minju's ear?"

"I have to say, you're a pretty good observant." Hyewon chuckled a little. "Well, she's a bit mad because..."

Chapter 27: A chaekura and a kangbi would have made this perfect. But otherwise this is still a masterpiece. Good job author. So far this has been the first well written izone fanfic I've ever read. Congratulations 👏👏👏

I finally reread this story so I can give a review of this whole masterpiece. First I loved how cute WonNako was at the end of the story. And I loved how the story progressed. Like how at the start it seemed like the school would be really bright because of how popular it is, but when you take a good look at what happens and what kind of people are in the school you can definitely see all the bad side. Second I loved the plot of the story and how Yuri and Chaewon was trying to bring back the music club because people abandoned it for other clubs that were considered “cool”. In the end I loved all the couples together they are all so cute together! Great Work!
