Three
My light in the dark----Chapter Three----
It's almost 8 pm when Chaeyoung and Jisoo return to their dorms. Feeling exhausted, Chaeyoung directly goes into her room and falls on her bed, eyes closed.
Almost as soon as she hits her bed, Lisa barges in her room and jumps next to her. "Sooo? How did it go?"
She opens her eyes to see Lisa's face inches from hers. She playfully pushes her forehead with her finger to move back her head. "It went well. Shinsadong Tiger has a similar working style to Teddy oppa, so it was easy to adjust."
"That's good, but I wanna know about the important stuff... you know, about Jimin sunbaenim!"
Chaeyoung sighs, unsurprised by Lisa's line of inquiry. She'd done the same thing after Jisoo's first recording at Inkigayo with GOT7's Jinyoung. Jisoo then returned the favor after Lisa had that little dance gig with NCT's Ten.
"His voice is no joke. I mean, we listen to BTS songs, but it was different from up close. I got goosebumps and almost forgot to sing my part."
She'd been in a trance actually, but she won't tell Lisa that. She'd been mesmerized by his singing voice, so close to her ears she could almost grasp it, so soothing it could lull her to sleep.
Plus she got caught staring at him. She hadn't meant to, but her eyes had a mind of their own, they like to wander around. It should've been safe, his eyes were closed.
She still remembers how angelic and peaceful he looked. But then he opened his eyes and caught her staring straight at him.
So embarrassing. She'd tried to play it cool but still isn't sure it'd worked.
"He treated you right? None of that 'What did it feel like being kidnapped'?" She says the last part in a low, creepy voice that belongs to serial killers.
"He was nice. Unnie even had to leave because her son got hurt at school so while I waited for Jisoo to pick me up, he stayed with me."
She's still dumbfounded about it, the way he'd casually offered to hang with her in the AB Entertainment cafeteria. She'd tried to decline, but he'd been pretty stubborn about it. They'd talked the whole time, mostly about music, and time had flown by so fast she was a little disappointed when Jisoo texted her to announce her arrival at the parking.
She'd been stiff at first, but he'd make her comfortable with his smiles, and easily took control of the conversation at first, asking about her favorite songs. And when she starts talking about music, she can go on for a long time. But he hadn't just let her talk, he asked questions, input his opinion and asked more questions.
After fifteen minutes, it felt like talking to an old friend. Which is strange for her since it usually takes her much longer before getting comfortable with someone she just met.
"Maybe Seulgi said something to him?" she says as she relates every detail to Lisa.
"Mmm, maybe, or maybe he's just that nice," Lisa ponders. She then rolls close to her and hugs her. "This was a big step. I'm glad it went well."
Chaeyoung sighs, returning Lisa's hug with all her strength. "Me too."
"Sooo... I remember you saying once you thought he was the cutest of the BTS members," Lisa whispers in her ear, snickering.
"Lisa!" She tries to wriggle out of Lisa's embrace but her hold is strong.
"He should still be taller than you, right?"
"Ugh! I'm not talking to you anymore!"
"You're blushing, Chae!" Lisa teases as she pinches her cheeks. She pauses before speaking again, her playfulness vanished. "Remember when we used to talk about guys all the time when we were trainees? We watched boys' group performance on music shows for 'educational purpose'."
Chaeyoung chuckles at the memory. "You were the worst."
They were teenage girls who worked their asses off all day, the uncertainty of their future looming over them every single day. It became a way to relieve some stress.
The four of them were so envious of those idols on music shows.
Lisa snickers. "I was.
