It was summer. The heat was unbearable. 

But despite all of that, their hands melded together. Their smiles reached up to their eyes. They were both skipping around the park. 

Making jokes. 

Having fun. 

Without a care in the world. 

They were happy. 

But it wasn't Dahyun. 

Because it was summer. The heat was unbearable.

But she didn't mind.

She walked underneath the burning sun, burning her pale flesh that was exposed by her loose tank top and board shorts.

Dahyun wiped her sweat away as she ran down the subway stairs.

She felt the cool air.

It relieved her.

But she didn't mind.

Nothing bothers her anymore.

She coughed. 

But no petals came out. 

Nothing at all.

It was two years ago since Dahyun confessed.

Momo sighed.

"Two years." Momo said, tapping her pencil onto the sign-up sheet she was working on.

She frowned.

What happened two years ago?

Two years ago, Dahyun confessed. She was down on her knees, paler than before. Her eyes, red, crying from the pain and the guilt of making Mina disappointed but that did not stop her eyes to look a bit hopeful.

Her life.

It was already dull.

Devoid of color.

Meeting Mina?

It brought back a smile to her face.

Sure, she tried not to show it, but it did.

Dahyun gulped, nervous as she scanned Mina's face.

She couldn't find a blemish. She smiled slightly.

Mina is perfect.

Her hand twitched, itching to caress Mina's cheek.

"I-- what?" Mina gasped.

Dahyun coughed, she crouched on the soil, trying to ease the pain. When the Music major straightened, electricity shot down her spine, Mina looked away.

Petals, blood.

Heck, thorns.

Dahyun chuckled, blood trickling down .

Mina's medicine knowledge sparked, she shakily reached for her sling bag, trying not to cry.

"I-- Dahyun... I'm s-- sorry I..." Mina sniffed and stuttered.

Dahyun looked at Mina's shaking hands, her hands were wet and when Dahyun looked at the medicine students face, her face was red, tears won't start spilling. She held Mina's hand, stopping her from rummaging through her bag with a smile. Mina whipped her head towards her friend, surprised and worried and... 

Silence.

There was silence.

Dahyun pats Mina's hand and shook her head.

"I know you're surprised." Dahyun said, patiently smiling at Mina.

"Dahyun--"

"And you probably don't like me back." Dahyun cuts Mina off. "But I can wait.

"I can promise you. I can wait."

And Dahyun did wait.

The subway train was arriving, she pulled out her phone;

Her phone displayed "Sana".

She rolled her eyes.

Dahyun pressed the green button.

"What do you want?" Dahyun asked.

"How's your heart?" Sana asked, with a giggled.

The musician grumbled, "What the does that mean?"

"Oh you know,

Mina's with Tzuyu frolicking around the park with intertwined fingers, aren't you gonna do something?" Sana replied, Dahyun can even feel her smiling through the phone. 

"Why the hell should I care?" Dahyun ended the call as soon as she said that and squeezed herself through the sweaty sea of people coming in the train.

Momo was getting worried but Dahyun only cared one thing. 

Mina did not like her back.
