“Yongsun-ah…” Her name slipped almost out of her control the moment she finally catches a glimpse of the person behind the closed door. She couldn’t help but react as she did and now, she’s on the verge of crying her eyes out in front of said person.

However, before she can even shed a tear, the door was closed abruptly.

She did catch the shocked and surprised expression from her before she shut the door close almost immediately. The action in return have taken Byulyi aback. She raises her hand, making a fist and ready to knock on the door but suddenly hesitating for a second.

She finds herself questioning the reason why Yongsun shut the door at the sight of her. Surely, there are plenty of reasons why and Byulyi doesn’t have to go list every single one out but it makes so much sense now if Yongsun doesn’t even want to see Byulyi again. After all, Byulyi brought her such traumatic events to her peaceful life.

What was I thinking…?

It must’ve been too much for her to handle such sudden meeting with Byulyi after years she’s been in jail and completely lost her contact with her. Byulyi looks at the bouquet of flowers in one of her hands, she also brought Yongsun’s favorite takeout food and was hoping the moment Yongsun sees her again, they’ll share a long and tight hug before she invited Byulyi inside and eventually spend the time eating while Byulyi explains everything that happened because Yongsun deserved to know.

Where had she gone to? What did she do all this time? Why didn’t she contact Yongsun or any of her friends? Why she’s only back now after so many years being missing? Byulyi was ready to answer every single questions Yongsun has stored for her after being separated for so long.

But maybe this is too soon and sudden.

Byulyi was about to kneel when she hears the door clicks open…little by little.

She looks up and her eyes immediately locked with Yongsun’s. She wanted to smile so bad seeing Yongsun again but she can understand if Yongsun doubting her intention.

“You…” Yongsun started, still hiding behind the door, her head almost slip through the small crack she let out. “You’re really…Byul? Is…is that really you…?” She questions, almost more to herself than Byul. She sounded so unsure and afraid, as if acknowledging Byulyi’s existence in front of her would suddenly make it disappear too in mere seconds.

Seeing this, Byulyi couldn’t help but cry.

“Y, yes…” She chokes out. “Yes, it’s me… I, I’m—” She couldn’t finish when she feels a soft hand touches her left cheek so carefully, so lightly, scared that if she’s not careful enough, Byulyi might break into yet another millions of pieces of her delusions.

Yongsun was scared that this Byulyi is just another trick her mind is playing because she still couldn’t completely forget her. “It’s…really you…?” She asked again, her hand pressing a little firmly against Byulyi’s cheek, caressing gently.

Byulyi nods, her free hand closing in on Yongsun’s, grasping almost desperately.

“It’s really me… It’s Byulyi.”

And she didn’t come prepared when she was pulled into a tight hug.

They stayed like that, hugging in front of the older woman’s front door, sobbing. It was only until two of the neighbors peaked their heads out on the hallway, curious as to why they’re hearing people crying for nearly a whole three minutes, only then Byulyi initiates for them to get inside the apartment instead of staying there.

After three weak attempts, the older one obliges although still refuses to let go of Byulyi.

She tries to pull away, holding Yongsun by the shoulders and was quick to gently wipe those tears away from her ever-beautiful face. Byulyi was taken aback just how much Yongsun did not change much after all those years. She whispers to Yongsun softly, telling her to stop crying even when she herself couldn’t hold her own tears from pouring down.

Yongsun called her out on that, making them both chuckles at their silly state.

And then the crying stops.

And yet, still, none of them moved further into the apartment.

They were taking their time to take a good close up look at each other’s faces. Trying to reminisce how they used to look years prior. Trying to get themselves familiar again, but they knew better that it’s never hard to do so when it comes to the two of them. It’s a little scary seeing how years of separation feels almost like they only had a week away.

Before any of them could do or say anything, they were halted by a grumbling noise.

It was Byulyi’s stomach.

She immediately blushes, clearly embarrassed that her stomach had to be the one to ruin the moment they were having. But she was also glad when the other woman chuckles lightly, smiling as she steps away from Byulyi’s hold.

“You haven’t eaten?”

“I, um…”

She wanted to tell her that yes, she hasn’t eaten anything because the first thing came to her mind as soon as she was out of jail was to find where Yongsun lives. Though yes, she also stopped by Yongsun’s favorite restaurant and she even got a bouquet of flowers too—well, she did all that in hopes that it will lessen Yongsun’s anger (if somehow her showing up at her door unannounced and out of nowhere would trigger bad memories or if Yongsun ended up hating her for disappearing).

Byulyi lifts her occupied hand, a small smile on her face. “I bought your favorite and this,” She takes the flowers with her other hand, handing it to Yongsun. “For you.” The latter didn’t immediately accept it, only looking at those flowers.

They’re colored Red and White.

Roses and lilies.

Yongsun isn’t oblivious, she knows what those flowers mean.

Seeing how Yongsun stays mum in her spot, Byulyi continues. “I… I’m sorry.” She started. “I have… I have so much to tell you, so many things to explain and I know I’m asking too much, I probably don’t deserve it—don’t deserve you. But I can assure you, I can explain everything… Only if you’re
