Concentrate, Think, Predict, Plan and Do
7 Paths, 1 DestinationFor the past two minutes after Taehyung woke up, there was silence. A whole minute of silence was unbearable, especially for the two noisiest ones.
"H-Hyung?" Jungkook blurted out, getting confused and worried with every second passing by.
On the other hand, Taehyung just stared at Jungkook. He kept staring into his soul, it made Jungkook feel a little uncomfortable. Taehyung was focused onto Jungkook's face, not noticing the sweat dripping down his neck even though the room was so cold, both were shivering. Maybe Jungkook was shivering because he was scared.
Another minute later, Jungkook decided to make his first move. He turned to the TV and looked forward, not thinking about the other’s strange actions. It was almost 1 a.m., both of them were tired. Jungkook could still feel a pair of eyes watching him. haunting him.
'Hyung, I've never wanted you to stop looking at me, but this time, I really want you to look away. It's scary...' Jungkook found his eyes closing as he looked ahead, falling asleep unexpectedly.
Taehyung smiled. 'Lullaby songs won't work for everyone, sometimes even a simple stare could make someone go to sleep...' He inwardly laughed. He coughed a few times, trying to wake Jungkook, but the younger wouldn't budge. Taehyung scooted closer to Jungkook and the other opened his eyes and turned as fast as the speed of light.
"H-Hyung... Pl-Please-" Jungkook was looking for an explanation, but Taehyung put his index finger on Jungkook's lip, asking him to stay put, stay still, stay quiet.
"Whose fault is it, Jungkook?" Taehyung asked in a deep, husky voice. Jungkook could feel his heat beating faster, shivers went down his spine – was it fear or anxiety?
"M-Mine... It- It's my- It's my f-fault..." Jungkook answered, feeling like a student talking with a teacher but how he wished it was a talk between two lovers.
"Are you sure of it?"
"W-Well, it's not your fault... So, it's definitely mine... I mean- There's no one else to be blamed..."
"Are you sure about that as well? No one else, huh?" Taehyung sighed as he turned his gaze down to the floor, and then back up when Jungkook began to speak.
"W-What are you trying to say, hyung? Is there someone else behind this?"
"I want to blame life, but the thing is, there's no one or nothing to blame. I'm guessing this is the journey of life. We have to make choices... And we have to face the troubles that we come across. We have to solve the problems on our own because life won't lend a hand. Life's too busy preparing the next obstacle, the next problem. And we humans, we should be prepared and ready to fight and move our way forward, don't you agree?" Taehyung grinned his boxy smile, it melted Jungkook's heart.
The younger nodded in agreement and then fell into the well of thoughts and questions. Eventually, he climbed up the wall of the well and built up the courage needed to ask a question. "Then... What do we do now? Do we forget everything or- I'm still confused..." Jungkook explained, receiving a chuckle from Taehyung, who slowly moved his way to the younger, pulling the blanket over their bodies halfway to the top.
Taehyung rested his head on Jungkook's shoulder before he shut his eyes to sleep. "Just face it and walk through it... Goodnight..." The last words came out of the older's mouth before he slept.
Jungkook took a deep breath, trying to absorb himself into the comfiness and warmth provided by the other. He felt loved, he felt good, he felt protected. Finally, the two of them fell asleep.
An hour later, Jungkook felt a little different. He felt empty, he felt cold, he felt unsafe. He fluttered his eyes open, waiting for the perfect vision, hoping to see Taehyung beside him, but he didn’t. He removed the blanket when he heard sounds from the kitchen. He tiptoed towards the counter and saw Taehyung with
