Maybe Dreams Link To Real Life
7 Paths, 1 DestinationThe sun shone its bright rays of light through the window. The younger fluttered his eyes open and yawned, rubbing his eyes, not knowing where he was until he saw the nurse and his bandaged arm.
"Oh- Good morning!" The cheerful nurse exclaimed as she turned around.
Jungkook smiled and greeted her as well. A while later, the nurse left the room after appointing a time for a check-up before releasing them.
Taehyung stretched his arms and yawned. He began to whistle all of a sudden.
"Uh, hyung... Don't whistle in a hospital... It's disrespectful…"
With Jungkook's advice, Taehyung stopped and turned to look to his side. He smiled. "Good morning, Jungkook-ah! Yah, look at the sunshine... I still can't believe we have to spend the day in the hospital while the others are probably having fun..."
They both talked about their strange dreams from the previous night. "And then, the monster almost caught Yoongi-hyung but Jimin threw rocks at the monster as a distraction! We ran and ran. And then we escaped through the tunnel! And after that, well, it was morning, so my dream is kind of incomplete…"
Jungkook clapped as Taehyung finished. "Your dream's pretty magical! Jeez, have you been watching too many fantasy movies? Or is it because of anime?"
"So, what about your dream?"
Jungkook stuttered, "I didn't have any dream. Just about school? Yeah, school and home and-"
"Seriously?!? School in your dreams?!? You're no fun!" Taehyung's jaws dropped after hearing Jungkook's boring sentence.
‘Hyung, I can never tell you my dream... It's impossible for you to kiss me... But… But I won't give up yet! I will still try my best to show you my love!'
Taehyung cleared his throat, "Anyways, now that everything's solved, we can go back to being friends, classmates, neighbours, gamers! Well, this feels good!"
Those words stung Jungkook's heart. He was so confident about his feelings but after hearing Taehyung's sharp and heart-breaking words, he lost a huge percentage of his bravery.
"Umm, you're too quiet... What's wrong?"
Jungkook came back to reality with Taehyung's sudden question.
"Eh? Oh, uh... Nothing, just wondering-"
"About school again?!? Oh my God, that is it! I hate you!"
"Stop yelling! We're in a hospital, not at home!"
Just then, the doctor came inside. His ultra-white coat blinding the eyes of anyone, perfectly clear glasses, sharp jawline, brushed hair and his tie that said 'I am a DOCTOR' was the attire and fashion style that everyone would think of for at least a minute. "Good job for following the rules as explained by the nurse. I see you two have taken care of your body as we've expected and needed. Are you feeling better now?"
His high-pitched voice with his looks was totally surprising. Jungkook and Taehyung looked at each other, knowing that both were trying to hold in their laughter, they nodded in sync and said, "Yes."
With that being said, the doctor took an x-ray of Jungkook's arm and Taehyung's forehead. After a last-minute check-up, the doctor got up from his chair to leave the room. He sighed as he looked at his wristwatch. "Get ready to meet your family and friends, for you both will be released today afternoon, most possibly by noon. Take care, young boys."
As the doctor left, the mood of the room was back to its hyped state. "I can't wait to meet my family again! I miss my room!" Taehyung crossed his fingers, eyes tightly shut, imagining his room for a while.
A few hours later, Jungkook fell asleep with a notebook clutched to his chest.
"Is it okay if I get out of bed?" Taehyung asked the nurse who was restocking bandages and medicines.
"Why, of course, but don't push yourself too much. Try to stay in the most relaxed position possible."
As the nurse assured Taehyung of his safety, the younger jumped out of bed and leaned over Jungkook. "Hmm..." He said as he slowly removed Jungkook's hand from the book, just to take a quick look at what he wrote. "A poem? Whoa, is this his own handwritten poem? Yah, he's cool..." He began to read what was written on the page.
