Not long after Jennie left their house, Jin and Jimin came home with the sight of Taehyung sitting on their front door steps – head bowed, hands on his head, messing his hair up, and they could clear faint sniffing coming from him, not noticing that they have arrived and was standing in front of him.

Jimin sadly sighed as he saw another one of his friends was in a broken state. When he and Jin were driving home, they noticed that Jennie abruptly disappeared the whole night, and they didn’t catch a glimpse of Taehyung too, figured he didn’t come to the party. Same with Jungkook and Lisa. They were too occupied the whole night that they just noticed their friends were missing when they were on their way home.

Jimin quickly sat beside Taehyung and patted his back in a comforting way, Jin followed suit setting his own sentiments aside first seeing his dongsaeng was also in an emotional state.

Taehyung looked side by side as he felt a presence on both of his sides, he peeked slightly and figured that it was his friends, just arrived from the party. He quickly wiped his face and lifted his head up, turned to Jimin as he felt his hand patting his back.

“Are you okay?” Jimin asked softly as Taehyung stared into space again, his shoulders were slumped down and hands clasped together, his face were stained with tears.

Taehyung shook his head without hesitation, there’s no use in pretending that he was fine in front of his friends especially that they arrived when he was in his broken state, and he was still obviously, currently, in it.

“Jennie…” his voice was shaky but still manned up and continued what he wanted to say ignoring the single tear that shamelessly rolled down on his cheek again, “Left me…”

Jimin let out another sigh hearing this, he knew how much his friend adored the said girl. He knew how much he likes her, or even loves her already. He knew every emotion that Taehyung has felt towards Jennie. He just knew everything that it broke his heart seeing his friend so broken right now.

“Tell me about it…” Jin sadly muttered for he felt like the level of pain Taehyung was feeling right now was the same level as he was also experiencing at the moment. He was also hurt like his friend, and it hurt him see that their friend that was always full of life so lifeless right now.

Taehyung breathed deeply trying to control his sobs, “I gave her up…”

Jimin threw him a confused look, “Why? You love her,” he said.

Taehyung faintly smiled hearing what Jimin said, “For Min Jae… He likes her, and you knew how much I cared for my family that I’ll give everything to them even the things that made me happy…” he answered with a sad smile.

Jin sighed and lightly knocked his head, “Pabo, Taehyung, pabo,” he said, scolding him, “You always cared for the happiness of other people, but you have always ignored yours! Aish.”

Taehyung let out a sad chuckle, “Sad truth hyung… Sad truth,” he said acknowledging Jin’s scolding. He couldn’t talk back like he always did whenever he scolded him, for what his hyung said right now was true, and he felt stupid enough to not realize it.

Jimin just stayed quietly and kept on patting Taehyung’s back the comforting way, he didn’t want to scold him further for he felt bad because for him he also had a good reason for giving up the things that he liked, and that was loving and caring for his family. He admired Taehyung for that, but on the other side of his mind, he wanted to tell him that he should be also caring and thinking of himself because one day, he might be left forever unhappy, just like now. But being the eldest in their group, he let Jin do that for him.

Their attention switched to their Jin hyung when they heard him sighed deeply while looking far away, probably deep in thought, “This night was full of misfortunes, I see,” he mumbled but the two managed to hear it making them curious to what Jin meant.

“Hyung, what happened between you and Jisoo noona back there?” Jimin asked, “We saw her on the ground crying with an injured ankle,” he added that got Jin’s blank face to soften hearing that Jisoo had hurt herself but immediately faded when he remembered what he saw.

“Did you two fight?” Taehyung asked too, concerned.

Jin sighed again before answering their questions, “I just discovered that, that Jinyoung guy was her ex–boyfriend,” he paused and swallowed the lump on his throat first before continuing, “Then… I saw them talking, then I heard… Jisoo saying that… She’ll leave me for Jinyoung and that he was actually better than me,” he looked up to stop himself from shedding tears, he was the eldest in their group and he wanted to appear tough in front of them, he was the hyung, he felt responsible to stay strong whenever they were faced in this kind of situations, “Then when she said that, I saw Jinyoung with a happy face, hugging her, I wished Jisoo would push him away and take back all what she had said, but none of that happened… I guess I got my expectations high, too high actually,” he looked at Jimin and Taehyung with a faint smile who were intently listening to him while giving him a look of sympathy.  

Taehyung patted Jin’s back like what Jimin did to him, “Let it out hyung,” he said urging him to cry out all of his heavy emotions, “You don’t have to act tough in front of us all the time, being the eldest doesn’t always mean like that, we know you’re holding back the tears… Come on, we’re brothers, you don’t have to hide that from us,” he said comforting him, Jimin nodding on the side in agreement. Jin stared at Taehyung with teary eyes, he never knew Taehyung would be this mature when it came to serious matters.

Absorbing everything what his younger friend said, he instantly burst into tears that Taehyung pulled his head down to his shoulder, “Taehyung–ah…” he cried out making Taehyung and Jimin chuckle lightly.

Then silence engulfed them, only Jin’s sniffing were heard for the past minutes as they sat there and stared into nothing as they thought about the happenings taking over their lives until Jimin broke it, “Geunde… Hyung, don’t you think you should’ve listened to noona first?” Jimin advised as he remembered when Rose and him broke up, she stubbornly chose not to listen that led them into the ruins, and he hoped that wouldn’t happen for his friends.

“Andwae… I was too hurt and angry to even face her moreover listen to her, I just can’t…” he cried out more that Taehyung continuously patted his back in comfort.

Jimin sighed and just nodded in understanding, he just let his hyung be for now. He’s sure that he just needed some time to cool off and finally give their Jisoo noona a chance to explain herself. He could sense that there was something more aside from what Jin heard, judging by the way Jisoo cried, he just knew that his hyung was missing something, and he let it slip out of his hands for he let anger take over his mind. It should’ve been mind over matter, Jimin thought.

Silence again but it was interrupted in a split second by the sound of their gate being opened. Jimin and Taehyung turned their heads to the gate, Jin was too busy crying his heart out on Taehyung’s shoulder that he didn’t even bother to look up too. Seeing that it was Jungkook, Jimin quickly stood up ready to scold their youngest, while Taehyung watched them confusedly, “Yah Jeon Jungkook, where have you been? Are you with Lisa? You two were missing the whole night! And you’re not answering your phone! Your phone was meant to be answered… When being called…” he slowly calmed down and trailed off when Jungkook turned to face them with his head bowed looking devastated.

Sensing the abrupt silence, Jin looked up and wiped his face rapidly, he glanced at his friends and saw that their expressions were a mixture of worry and had the strong want to bombard Jungkook with questions. He then turned to Jungkook and saw that the latter has the same state as Taehyung when they got home. And instantly he knew, something wasn’t right.

“Jungkook, what happened? Were you with Lisa?” Jin gently asked as he felt bad for their youngest.

“I wish I was hyung…” Jungkook sadly answered with his head still bowed. Jimin furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, he doesn’t have any clue on what’s going on anymore.

“Wait– You weren’t at the ball too? Lisa too?” Taehyung asked in confusion. Jimin walked over to Jungkook and patted his back too, then not long after he heard him sniffing followed by the shaking of his shoulders.

“She broke up with me, and I don’t know why…” Jungkook told them and tried to wipe his tears with the sleeve of his coat but it was easily replaced with more tears. Jimin couldn’t do anything but to sooth his back and tell him phrases in hopes of comforting him.

Jin sighed in devastation, “This night was so messed up…”

Jennie got home with a panicking Rose and a tear stained faced Jisoo holding an ice pack pressing it on her purplish colored foot with her newly bought black heels with one broken heel on the floor. She furrowed her brows in confusion as she was totally clueless to what happened after she left the venue. But as far as she could remember, she left them with happy smiles painted on their faces but now, she didn’t know anymore.

She wanted to know the answers now that she turned to Rose who was walking back and forth while holding her phone up against her ear, calling someone, then angrily hissed when the person she was calling didn’t answer again that she tapped her phone angrily again, calling that person for the nth time already.

“Rose, what’s happening?” Jennie asked when she saw that she failed to talk with whoever she was calling again. Rose sighed then carelessly placed her phone down on their living room’s center table.

She looked up to Jennie with worry filling up her face, “Unnie… Jin oppa got angry on Jisoo unnie, Jungkook and Lisa went missing all night, I went up to our room and saw that the dress she was supposed to be wearing tonight was still hanging in our closet without a wrinkle or anything, her carry-on luggage was missing, some of her clothes too, the sling bag that she always used was probably with her as well, and right now I’m calling her for like the 20^th time already but no answer was heard! Gosh unnie, I don’t know what’s happening anymore,” Rose ranted without a pause that it made her catch her breath in the end and sat beside Jisoo on the couch who was treating her injured ankle with a frown and random sniffing.

Jennie stayed rooted in her place as she stared at her friends in that state. Rose returned to contacting Lisa again, and angrily hissing whenever the lady spoke saying the number couldn’t be reached at the moment. Jisoo was treating her ankle but her mind was obviously not focused on that, she could sense that she was deep in thought, thinking of something painful basing on her pained expression and she knew it wasn’t because of her injury, it was because of their Jin oppa. Lisa was missing all this time when she thought that she was with Jungkook the whole time but turned out she left their house without anything, a note or a word would do but nothing. She felt bad at leaving her behind earlier, she should’ve convinced her to open their bedroom door but she didn’t do anything, she just left her behind.

She breathed deeply and tried to calm herself down too. Inside, she was also panicking too. A lot was happening in just one night that she can’t handle it anymore. But she chose to be calm and went to Rose to console her, as the second youngest of the group she felt the need to do that for obviously their eldest unnie wasn’t in the right condition to do that right now.

Jennie fanned herself lightly and sat beside Rose who was now combing her hair in frustration as she still couldn’t get a hold of Lisa, “Hey, calm down, don’t worry, I’m sure Lisa’s fine,” she gently said, soothing Rose’s back.

“Unnie, I’ve been sensing that something was wrong with Lisa lately, but I just shrugged it off saying that I’m only paranoid, but I really have this feeling that something was bothering her… I should’ve asked her, aish! Now she’s nowhere to be found,” Rose said still in panic, her eyes were teary and voice was shaky because of worry, plus hope was slowly fading away from her.

Jennie couldn’t help but to feel worried too, it was Lisa they’re talking about. Jisoo felt the panic too that she turned her head to Rose and soothed her back too, “Chae Young–ah, hold yourself together, try calling Jimin and ask about Jungkook, he might know something,” Jisoo suggested that Jennie nodded in agreement too. Rose calmed down a little, and started dialing Jimin’s number.

“Yes baby?”

Rose heard Jimin answered from the other line that made her panic lessen just by hearing his soft voice.

“Jimin–ah, have you found Kookie?” she asked impatiently.

“Deh… He came home looking…” she heard Jimin sighed before continuing, “Looking devastated, something bad happened…”

“Why? What happened? Wasn’t he with Lisa?” Rose’s sudden exclamation made Jisoo and Jennie look at each other in both confusion and curiosity.

“We thought they were together too. But to our surprise, he told us that he wished he was meaning he actually wasn’t…” she heard Jimin paused and sighed again, “Then he told us Lisa broke up with him, and he didn’t know why…”

This made Rose’s eyes widen in surprise, why would Lisa broke up with him without any proper reason, “Was Lisa home already too?” Jimin asked snapping Rose from her daze.

“Not yet… That’s why I called you to ask about Jungkook... Anyway, we’re still trying to reach her… I’m gonna hung up now, Jimin… Thank you…”

“Rest well after, okay? Goodnight babe…”

Rose ended the call and looked at her unnies sadly, “Lisa… Broke up with Jungkook…” she said making the two frown but a lot of questions were running in their mind.

“What– Why– How–” Jisoo tried to say something but nothing was properly said as the news took her by the storm.

Jennie quickly snatched her phone out of her purse and went online, she figured if Lisa’s number was out of reach then her social media account would be reached through internet. And her idea didn’t fail her, as she went online she saw the green circle beside Lisa’s name, meaning she was online too. She didn’t waste any second and quickly tapped Lisa’s name and tapped the call button.

And she swore she felt one hundred times more relieved when she heard Lisa’s voice, “Unnie…”

“Yah Lalisa!” she exclaimed making Jisoo and Rose turn their attentions to her, she glanced at them and saw relief washed over their faces, she then turned to them and set her phone in loud speaker.

“Lisa, where are you??” Jisoo asked impatiently.

“Unnies, I’m so sorry…”

“Yah, why are you apologizing?! Just tell us where you are already!” Rose said getting very impatient as Lisa was taking a lot of twists and turns before answering the question they’ve been wanting to be answered this whole time.

Then they felt bad instantly for being impatient when they heard Lisa broke into a loud sob on the other line, “Lisa–yah…” Jennie called out softly but more sobs were heard.

“I’m back in Thailand… I’m sorry I didn’t tell you… Unnies… I’m getting married…”

“WHAT?!?!?!” the three exclaimed at the same time, they didn’t expect to hear a news like this. Then in their mind, it figures, Lisa broke up with Jungkook because of that, she spent all of her free time with Jungkook because of that…

“Unnies… It was my father’s wishes, I can’t do anything about it…” Lisa continuously cried, even harder than before as finally she shared her problem with her friends, “I feel so bad for Kookie… I love him so much…”

They couldn’t help but feel so hurt for their maknae. She doesn’t deserve all this misfortune happening in her life. They knew that her happiest days were when she was with Jungkook, but it all ended up just because of a stupid forced marriage by her cruel father.

Jisoo slumped herself down on their sofa as she felt tears were starting to fall again, while she let Jennie and Rose continue on talking with Lisa. She felt tired hearing and experiencing all the bad news today. First, Jin left her feeling angry and hurt, he didn’t give her the chance to explain and make everything clear. Second, Lisa and Jungkook broke up because Lisa was set to marry a man they don’t even know. Third, she knew Rose would be so affected in a bad way by all of this. Lastly, she could sense that Jennie’s facing a problem too, she’s just not spilling it out yet. It made her think of what could have possibly they did wrong to encounter all of this.

Jennie and Rose slumped their backs on the couch too when their phone call with Lisa ended. Also thinking the same as Jisoo.

“Seokjinie…” Jisoo started making Jennie and Rose look at her in anticipation, “Discovered the truth about Jinyoung…” she continued with a bitter smile while staring into space. The two girls felt bad as they knew how Jisoo was too careful so that Jin won’t know it, she had a plan on telling him but now wasn’t just the right time.

“I guess he saw me and him talking, and what he heard or saw didn’t please him so…” Jisoo sniffed and wiped the tears away, “He left me…” but she instantly broke down again when Rose put her head down on her shoulder, “Unnie…”

Seeing this made Jennie’s eyes teary, but she held it in and turned her attention on taking her shoes off instead, seeing that her feet were filled with bleeding blisters. She kicked her shoes off away in irritation, and slumped her back down on the sofa again, this night was taking a hard toll on her.

She breathed out a deep sigh and out of nowhere muttered, “Taehyung gave up on me…”

Rose and Jisoo abruptly turned to her upon hearing it, “Oh my gosh unnie, why?” Rose asked immediately.

“He gave me up for Min Jae… He cares for his brother very much…” Jennie sadly smiled at the thought, “I admire him for that but… Am I not worth fighting for?” she questioned that hurt her too much making her break down into tears again. She covered her face as she sobbed uncontrollably for the second time that night.

Rose and Jisoo couldn’t do anything but to look down and think how messed up this night was. It was supposed to be a wonderful, romantic, and sweet night, but it completely turned the other way around.

“This night was so messed up…” Rose mumbled close to shedding tears…
