Taeyeon gulped as she started to get nervous as she fiddled with her fingers as she tried to explain.

“I was in the kitchen and you were right there. I couldn’t help but—“ She got interrupted.

Seunghyun glared at her as he groaned loudly as he raised his hand to hit her.

Taeyeon’s eyes widen as she quickly closed her eyes; turning her head away. She waited for the impact to happen but nothing. She felt arms around her all of the sudden. She slowly opened them as she noticed Dae was in between her and Seunghyun.

Seunghyun glared at him.

“Move Dae.” He said with a cold tone.

Before Dae could say anything, Seo-Yeon walked in and saw Seunghyun with his hand up and Taeyeon behind Dae, so scared. She turned back to Seunghyun, mad as hell.

“SEUNGHYUN! A WORD, NOW!” She shouted at him as she points to the living room.

Seunghyun placed his hand down as he glared at Taeyeon angrily.

“Thanks a lot.” He mumbled as he walks into the living room with Seo-Yeon; leaving Taeyeon with Dae.

Dae sighed deeply as he turned around and noticed how scared Taeyeon is. He immediately wrapped his arms around her, trying to comfort her.

“It’s okay, Tae. He won’t hurt you. I promise.” He whispered to her.

Taeyeon couldn’t believe that he would go that far just for a mistake like this. She closed her eyes as tears streamed down her face, so glad that Dae is here with her. 

“My guardian angel…” She thought.

“You’re okay?” He asked her as he sat her down on a chair, kneeling down to her level.

She slowly nodded.

He sighed as he grabbed her hands, gripping on it.

“Do you need anything?”

“J-just some time a-alone.” She managed to say.

He nodded and kissed her forehead.

“I’ll be upstairs if you need me, okay.” He said, seeing her nod. He gave her a small smile before he left.

“What has gotten into you?!” Seo-Yeon yelled at Seunghyun.

“She was eavesdropping on my conversation!” He yelled back.

“So you were going to HIT her?! What has gotten into you?! This isn’t the way I raised you!”

He looks at her, not taking it anymore as he stood up from the couch.

“RAISE ME?! You haven’t been around for the past two years! All you do is work! And then all of the sudden, she comes into our family and she means everything! She gets all the ing attention! I’m sick of it and her! I wish she never came!”

Taeyeon heard him as she starts to cry, not knowing how much pain she had caused him by being here. She quickly gets up and runs out of the kitchen door. She looks back at the house, making sure they didn’t notice before running off.

Seo-Yeon and Seunghyun heard a door close shut.

She looks at Seunghyun.

“Look at what you did now!” She looks at him, disappointed in him as she goes to find Taeyeon.

Seunghyun looks at her in disbelief as a tear falls from his eyes.

“Everything I just said meant nothing to you..” He mumbled before heading to his room. “It’s all about Taeyeon.”

“Taeyeon? Taeyeon, come on. It’s all right. Seunghyun didn’t mean what he said. Come home and we’ll talk about it.” She shouted as she looked around for Taeyeon.

It was silent.

She rubbed her arms as she felt the cool breeze around her body. It was so cold that she could see her own breath out in front of her when she shouted. She wrapped herself around herself.

“It’s pretty chilly out here.” She pauses for a while. “But if you’re out here, I guess it’s fair to give you some time alone.” She sighs before she goes back inside, worried about Taeyeon.

Jiyong looks at Seungyoon, shaking his head.

“I can’t let you do that for me. You’ll only get hit too.”

Seungyoon shook his head.

“I can take it. As for you, you can’t anymore.” He pauses. “Go to Seunghyun’s place. You’ll be safe there.”

Jiyong stays quiet.

“You’ll be a lot safer than if you stay here, Jiyong. Trust me.”

Jiyong sighed as he nodded.

“Alright. I’ll go. But if dad lays a hand on you-“

“I’ll make sure to call. I promise.” He flashed Jiyong a smile.

Jiyong smiled back at him for a moment before he sighs and stands up. He goes over and picks up his backpack and started to pack a few things.

Seungyoon sighed as he turned to leave.

Jiyong looks at him.

“Seungyoon?”

Seungyoon turns around to Jiyong.

Jiyong walks over to him, taking a deep breath.

“Thanks.” He paused. “I, uh..I really missed you..bro.”

Seungyoon stays silent while Jiyong walks back over to his bag as he continues to put his stuff in. He watched him for a few seconds before speaking up.

“I’ll catch you later, I guess.” He mumbles before he leaves the room.

Jiyong stopped in disappointment as he thought to himself.

“I don’t know why I even tried. No matter what I do, or what happens; things will never be the same between us. This family is torn apart and there’s nothing that can be done to fix that. Not ever.”

He zipped up his backpack before he opened the window, throwing it out.

Taeyeon stops walking all of the sudden as she looks around and sees a small pond. She sits in front of it, deep in thought. She couldn’t help but be angry at herself, at her parents. Her parents that brought her into this world and leaving her to be alone. Tears started to roll down her face.

“THIS was your idea of bringing a child to life?! I feel dead all the time because of this stupid sickness YOU gave me! I WANT to be dead already!! I’m sure it’s a whole lot better than living in a world you know you only have a few more years to live in.  To live in a place where no one wants you around. I have you. I hate you for having me. I hate you for bringing me into this HELL.” She pauses as she starts to sob. “I don’t want this anymore. I don’t want this life.” She shakes her head as it becomes harder for her to breathe. “I just can’t take it anymore!” She shouts as she falls to the ground, sobbing uncontrollably.

Jiyong hears someone crying as he was walking but stops once he hears the cries getting louder. He looks around to find out who’s out at this time.

“Who’s here?” He slightly yelled.

Taeyeon’s eyes widen as she heard Jiyong’s voice getting closer, getting startled as she quickly gasps and gets up on her feet. She starts walking away as she wipes her tears away.

Jiyong sees someone get up and walking away. He tries to catch up to her.

“Hey! Are you alright?!” He yells.

Taeyeon gulps as she continues to walk faster, hoping that Jiyong won’t recognize her.

“I know you’re a complete stranger but if it makes you feel better; you’re not the only one who feels alone.” He says, loud enough for her to hear.

Taeyeon stops her tracks but doesn’t turn around.

“We all have our reasons, don’t we?” She whispered.

Jiyong tilted his head, her voice sounded so familiar to him but he ignored the thought.

“You’re right. Everyone does have a reason.” He pauses for a moment. “What’s yours? I mean you’re out here at ten at night in the freezing cold, crying.”

Taeyeon was going to walk away and ignore him but she decided to say something instead.

“I’d have to trust you with my life to be able to tell you the truth.”

Jiyong chuckles.

“Sounds like something I would say.” He starts to study her from the back and thinks he had seen her before. “Do I..do I happen to know you by any chance? I feel like I know you somehow.” He pauses. “I’m Jiyong.”

 She shakes her head.

“I don’t know a Jiyong. I’ve gotta go. I’m sorry.” She starts walking again, away from Jiyong.

He sighs as he looks at her one last time before walking away as well.

Seo-Yeon hears the doorbell ring as she quickly opens the door and gasps in surpise.

“Jiyong! Honey, what happened to you?!”

“Just a little accident. That’s all.” He shrugs, chuckling nervously.

“Accident?! Honey, it looks like you got into a fight with a truck!” She gasped at how badly injured he looked.

Jiyong laughs a bit.

“I’m fine.”

Seo-Yeon shook her head as she steps aside so he can go inside.

“Come in, come in. We’re gonna treat all those bruises and cuts of yours.” She said as she waited for him to get inside before shutting the door.

He walks in and sits down on the couch.

“The cuts and bruises are the least of the pain right now.” He looks at her. “I think I may have a few broken ribs.” He shyly says as he looks down.

“You should have your dad take you to the hospital to get that checked out.” She looks at him, so worried.

Jiyong gulped, looking down.

“He’s out of town.” He lied. “Seungyoon’s at a friend’s house. It’s part of the reason I’m here.”

“Well, I’ll be glad to take you then. What’s the other reason?”

“Oh. Um..” He thinks for a bit. “Homework! Yeah, homework. With Seunghyun.”

“Oh, okay.” She nods before she yells for Seunghyun. “Seunghyun! Jiyong’s here!” She looks back at Jiyong, worried. “You didn’t happen to see Taeyeon on the way here, right?”

“T-Taeyeon?” He looks at her confused.

Seo-Yeon nods.

“You know her right?”

“I know who she is, but why would she be here?” He asks, confused.

Seunghyun comes out of his room and walks to where his mother and Jiyong were at.

“Jiyong, upstairs.”

Jiyong sighs as he stands up and goes upstairs to his room.

Yoona hears some light knocks on her door. She slowly stands up and goes to open it, seeing Taeyeon.

“Taeyeon? Where’d you come from?”

“Just walking around. Thought I’d drop by.” She said with her voice quivering.

Yoona pulls her inside as she noticed that her cheeks were red as well as around her eyes.

“Taeyeon? Were you crying?” She asked.

Taeyeon forces a small laugh.

“What? No. I didn’t get a lot of sleep last night, that’s all.”

“That explains the puffy eyes?” Yoona raises her eyebrow.

Taeyeon feels the tears coming down again as she tries to hold them back but she just couldn’t hold it in anymore. Yoona frowns as she pulls her to a hug, her hair lightly.

“Hun, what’s wrong?”

Taeyeon closed her eyes tightly for a moment before she looks at Yoona with tears slowly falling from her eyes.

“Is Tiff here? I want you guys to know the truth.”

Jiyong dropped his backpack on the floor as he takes the ice pack from Seunghyun.

“Your mom asked me about Taeyeon..”

Seunghyun froze as he looked at Jiyong who was looking at him. He gulped.

“What’d she ask you?”

“If I’d see her on the way here…” He pauses for a moment. “Why would she ask me that?”

Seunghyun cleared his throat, trying to think of a explanation.

“She uh, she knows Taeyeon comes over but she doesn’t know it’s for my homework. She would kill me if she found out I paid Taeyeon to do my homework. I tell her we’re actually friends.” He laughs. “Clever, huh?”

“I don’t know, man. She seems kinda worried about her. Is Taeyeon all right?” He asked, not knowing why he was asking if she was okay.

Seunghyun rolled his eyes.

“Because that’s something you care about now.” He said, sarcastically.

Jiyong stays quiet as he turns around and begins to unpack which got Seunghyun curious.

“You don’t, right?”

Jiyong turns and looks at him.

“Why would I?”

“Oh, okay. You scared me there for a second.” Seunghyun sighed in relief.

Yoona and Tiffany sat in front of Taeyeon in Yoona’s bed, waiting for Taeyeon to say something.

“You can trust us, Taeyeon.” Yoona said as she gripped on her hand, giving her a comforting smile.

Tiffany nodded.

“Of course! We’re best friends after all!” Tiffany shouted but then got covered by Yoona.

“Shut up! My family is asleep you loud mouth!” Yoona growled.

Taeyeon smiled at their silly relationship. She was so glad that she had them in her life as friends. She took a deep breath before she opened to reveal her big secret.

“I’m diagnosed with HIV since I was very little. My mom..She uh, she had the disease…”

DUN DUN DUN!!!
