Tiffany walked into the cafeteria as she looked for Taeyeon. It took her a while to finally find her who was waving her arm like a crazy person to Tiffany. That made her smile a bit. She made her way towards the table and sat down in front of Taeyeon.

“Seungyoon isn’t here..Typical.” Tiffany softly said.

“Why you say that?”

“Because just the sight of him makes me so angry.”

Taeyeon softly chuckle which caught Tiffany’s attention.

“What?”

“Do you like him or something?”

Tiffany’s eyes widen.

“WHAT?! NO! Why would you say that?!”

“You always talk about him. I figured.”

“Do you realize how ridiculous you sound? How could I like him? Ew Tae!” Tiffany starts eating her lunch.

Taeyeon giggles to herself as she also started to eat.

“She totally does.” Taeyeon says to herself.

Teddy stood behind her with eyes swelling up at the sight of his mother.

Jiyong looks at her as his eyes started to water.

“Mom..?”

She smiles through her tears.

“How are you baby boy?”

Jiyong stays silent for a moment.

“I don’t know whether to be mad at you or happy that you’re here…”

She sighs as she wipes away his tears with her thump.

“I would understand if you were mad at me..”

He shakes his head.

“Nine and a half years ago. That was the last time I saw you.”

“And I can explain why.”

He shook his head before she even finished.

“Please. Don’t. I’m not sure I want you here at the moment.”

Teddy walked towards his mother as he went to touch her face but his fingers ran through her.

“You’re here..” He smiles at the sight of his mother. “You’re as beautiful as I remember.”

“Jiyongie, baby..i’m so sorry about your dad. If I would’ve known-“

“What? If you would’ve known, what would you have done? There was no possible way of you knowing anything.” He spat as tears rolled down his cheeks. “You didn’t come see your three kids. You didn’t call.” He pauses. “You missed nine birthdays of mine.”

His mother looked at him, crying.

“Honey, I wanted to come by and see you but I couldn’t.”

“What stopped you?” He interrupted her.

Seungyoon opens the door and saw a blonde woman turning around and looking at him with tears coming down her face. He froze as he noticed Jiyong and Teddy looking at him. Teddy standing next to her, crying as well.

“What’s going on?” He says as he saw Jiyong crying as well.

Jiyong wipes his tears.

“Seungyoon, maybe you shouldn’t be here.”

“No, no. Let him stay. He should hear this too.” She says as she wipes her tears.

Seungyoon couldn’t help but feel that women looking so familiar.

“Why are you so familiar?”

She starts to cry again but tries to contain the tears.

“Where’s Teddy?”

Seungyoon looks at Teddy.

Teddy shook his head.

“Don’t tell her. She’s not ready for it.”

“Teddy..he’s at college overseas, Miss..” He pauses. “Who are you and what’s going on?”

Seunghyun sighs deeply as he starts walking towards the table where Tiffany and Taeyeon were sitting on.

Taeyeon notices him.

“Oh no..what did I do now?” She sighs as she sees Seunghyun getting closer to their table.

Tiffany got nervous.

“Maybe I should go..”

Taeyeon turned to Tiffany.

“No, please don’t go. Without you here, he might try to hurt me again..”

Tiffany looks at her with confusion.

Seunghyun sat beside Tiffany as he looks at Taeyeon.

“Since you’ve recently seen Jiyong at the hospital; will you tell me how he’s doing?” He asks, getting straight to the point.

She looks at him, wondering why he was asking this right now.

“You couldn’t wait til we’re at the house?”

He slowly turns to Tiffany who was also looking at him.

“No, I couldn’t.”

Tiffany stares at him until she turned her head away.

“He was left paralyzed from the waist down.” Taeyeon said as she noticed the tension between them two.

That got Seunghyun’s attention.

“He..what?”

Tiffany knew how he would react so she tried to cheer him up.

“But with therapy he should be able to be okay..”

Seunghyun sighed as he stood up and left.

She gets closer to Seungyoon.

“Your mother.” She pauses. “It’s me, Seungyoon.”

“What?” He slowly backs away.

Jiyong looked at Seungyoon who was so confuse.

“Mom, maybe you should..go. I think you should give Seungyoon and me some time to take this all in. Please.”

Seungyoon shook his head.

“Don’t ever come back.”

She nods as she’s holding back her tears but before she leaves, she places a piece of paper down next to Jiyong and walks out.

“That wasn’t right of you, Seungyoon.” Teddy suddenly said as he stood next to Seungyoon.

“Just shut up, Teddy. Okay, I don’t want her near me. That’s not what you call a “mom”.”

Jiyong looks at him, confused.

“Teddy?”

Seungyoon forgot that Jiyong was in the room as he sighs.

“I’m going home.” He leaves.

Taeyeon sighs as she takes a deep breath and knocks on the door.

Jiyong finishes reading the paper that was in his hands.

“Come in.” He sighs.

She walks in and places his assignments down next to him.

He grabbed some of the papers and studies it.

“How am I suppose to do this if I haven’t been there to even learn it?”

She stays silent.

“You’re a nerd right? You should know this stuff, right?” He asks her.

She rolls her eyes and heads for the door to leave.

“Taeyeon, wait.” He sighs. “What I was trying to say was..” He slowly looks up at her. “Would you..teach me?”

She slowly turns around and looks at him.

“Why should I?”

“Because I’ve decided..and I want to accept your help.”

That surprised Taeyeon.

“Why the sudden change?”

Jiyong looks down.

“My mom..she showed up today. She’s back.”

She looks at him, silently.

“And, I don’t know what to do anymore.” He looks at her. “I..I just...I need someone, Taeyeon.”

“I don’t understand. You pick me out of all people?”

He sighs and looks away.

“There’s..there’s no one else who seems to care as much as you do.”

“Wait, you think I care?”

He stays silent.

She sighs as she walks over and picks up the text book and sits down next to his bed. She starts reading it to herself.

He looks at her and smiles a bit as he watches her.

After twenty minutes later, Taeyeon puts her hand out as she sees Jiyong working on the assignment.

“Alright, give it. It’s been twenty minutes already.”

Jiyong was so focus on the assignment.

“Five more minutes.”

She rolls her eyes as she takes the paper anyway and looks at it. She couldn’t help but laugh.

“You’re doing this all wrong.”

He chuckles as he nervously rubs the back of his neck.

“Maybe if I had a better teacher, I would do a whole lot better.” He joked.

“Whatever you say..” She joked as she was about to stand up.

He grabs her hand to stop her which caused Taeyeon to look at him.

“No! I mean, you’re the best teacher anyone could ask for.” He smiles innocently.

She giggles.

“Nice save.” She sits back down. “Okay, we have a lot of work to do though.”

Jiyong groans.

Taeyeon walked into the house as she places her backpack on the couch. She walks into the kitchen as she sees Seo-Yeon and Dae cooking.

“I’m home!”

Dae quickly turned around and ran towards Taeyeon giving her a tackle hug which caused her to giggle.

“Tae! You’re back! How was school?!” Dae said all excited.

“Good and yours?” She says as she pets Dae’s hair.

“Good too! I’m helping mom with dinner, wanna help?” He asks.

Taeyeon nodded as she walked with him, helping him cut the vegetables.

Seo-Yeon smiled at them two as she was frying the rice and meat.

“How’d it go with Jiyong? Is he doing any better?”

Taeyeon turned to Seo-Yeon before turning back to the vegetables as she decided not to mention that his mom showed up.

“Yeah, he’s okay.”

Seunghyun walked into the house, taking his jacket off as he heard voice in the kitchen.

“Seunghyun told me that you told him about Jiyong being paralyzed.”

Seunghyun stops when he overhears Jiyong’s name and then his.

“Yeah, he didn’t say much about what he thought. When I saw Jiyong today, he didn’t—“ She got interrupted by Seunghyun barging in.

“So that’s what you’re up to now? You’re taking my friends?”

Taeyeon turned to see Seunghyun glaring at her.

“Seunghyun. Don’t start. Not now.” Seo-Yeon said, not liking his tone.

“Wasn’t taking my mom enough for you? Jiyong’s my best friend. You’re taking him too?”

Taeyeon started to feel so much anger inside of her that she exploded.

“I haven’t taken anyone from you nor am I going to!”

“You’re letting that stupid little disease get to you, aren’t you?”

Everyone gasped.

“DON’T go there, Seunghyun.” She spat like a command.

Seunghyun laughs.

“You know, I wonder if that’s the reason you ended up at the orphanage. That your parents just didn’t want you. They probably aren’t dead.”

“STOP IT!” She yells at him as tears are forming in her eyes.

“Not until you get your own life and stay the hell out of mine!” He yells back at her.

“Your mom is still here! I didn’t take her from anyone! And Jiyong, I’m helping him with school so stop being so damn paranoid!” She yells.

“I will the day you stop being the same little ignorant orphan you always will be!”

Seo-Yeon couldn’t take it anymore.

“Stop yelling at your sister!”

“She’s NOT my sister!” Seunghyun yells.

“Yes she is!” She stops as she looks at Dae who’s trying to calm her down before turning to Taeyeon and Seunghyun.

 “She’s your sister. You’re blood-related sister.”

Taeyeon and Seunghyun turned to her.

“What?”
