22. Over Your Evil Plans.

The tall boy simply looked at me with those eyes that meant everything. He was examining me from the inside out. I gulped at his intimating gaze. Of course , he always been like that, he always used his imposing stature to inspire fear and respect from others but something was different. He was more manly than before. His previous look looked just like an arrogant little boy. The type who gets everything. Today he seemed more grown up with , somehow , still the same convictions. I was sure of one thing, he changed while still remaining my ex-boyfriend , Kai.

The so called boy smiled to me , at first as arrogantly as he used to do back in the days , then with a sweetness that I didn’t knew he possessed. “ I missed you , Mei .. “ He said with his deep and manly voice. I looked down immediately.

“ What are you doing here? “ I said coldly to him as I dared to finally look up back to him. I wanted to stay strong. I didn’t want him in my life anymore and he needed to know I was belonging now to someone else.

“ Dare to tell me why this jerk is holding your hand , Mei? “ Kai asked looking furiously at Yixing who didn’t moved his gaze from his for a single moment. I knew both and I was sure of one thing, neither of them would give up on that fight.

I imposed myself between the two of them rapidly and looked at Kai. “ Because he is my boyfriend. “ I said directly. I heard my parents coughing and closing the door behind us to let us talk just the three of us.

Normally I would have been scared. Kai always has been the type of guy to be overly expressive. I knew he would react strongly and , maybe even violently. Surprisingly , I felt a courage I didn’t know I owned.  With Yixing by my side , I knew we could go through everything. We went through so much already.

“ What? “ Kai almost screamed as I spoke. He frowned , completely lost. “ I waited for you for nearly 3 years and now that you are finally back you are telling me you have another boyfriend? What’s that ? “ He said furiously and walking closer , now totally hovering me. I gulped but kept the stare in his.

“ Don’t come and say you waited for me , liar. You never did ever when I was there and yes, I have found someone else. Someone better. Someone who actually respect me. Who protects and loves me. Not someone who cheated and changed my life into a nightmare for years. Go back in Korea and let me live , for once. I am happy for the first time in ages , literally , now. “ I said truthfully to him. At one point I even forgot about Yixing’s presence due to his respect toward my actual speech. He probably felt I needed to clear my mind and let me hit my once lover with the truth.

Kai laughed awkwardly. Before he would have become red and explode with some insults towards me or directly to Yixing. I knew he felt uneasy with that but he surprised me by the way he managed what I was explaining.

He nodded finally while looking at the ground. “ You really still think of me that way. That’s so you , Lee Meiying. Never give anyone another chance. You wouldn’t even take time to notice how much I changed in the past three years. “ He said before biting his lips. “ I inherited my father’s company , he passed away from a heart attack two years ago. I can tell you that , along with your disappearance , all that might change the way a man acts. “ He said calmly and I stayed there speechless. My words came out straight and rude and he deserved them all but maybe I would have cared a little bit more if I had known about that.

“ Oh… “I said not knowing what to say. Kai was simply looking at me with pain written all over his face. I sighed and looked down while biting my lip. “ Listen … I am truly sorry about that. It’s hard and I didn’t said you were a bad man. Simply a bad boyfriend. I can’t let my pity for you change the way I feel and it won’t anyway. “ I said as he put both his hands in his pockets.

“ Do you really think this man can make you happy? What does he have? You know that I know you well and I changed , Meiying. I know I can make you happy. “ Kai said starting to feel hurt. How did I know? The tangling feeling taking over his voice.

I looked at Yixing who came closer to us. Kai was a bit taller than him but they were pretty equal when we talk about the muscles and strength. In opposite to me , Yixing had nothing to worry about Kai. The two men looked at each other with both anger and harshness. Kai surprised me when he smirked.

“ I guess you will have the surprise yourself. “ Kai said to me with the same smirked. I frowned. What he meant exactly by that?

“ The surprise? What are you talking about? There is no surprise to have there. I just officially call it quit. Go live your life now and let me live mine. “ I said furiously as he came closer and grabbed my wrist in his hand. There I recognized the man I knew.

Kai squeezed my wrist a bit but not too much. Not a single second passed before Yixing grabbed his wrist and squeezed it back , making Kai hissed in pain and look at him furiously.

“What’s your problem ? We are talking here , it’s none of your business. “ Kai said rudely at Yixing which made him frowned at the man. Kai was hovering Yixing with his tall body but my Yixing didn’t let that impress him.

With a violent strength that I never suspected, Yixing clenched his fist and used it to hit Kai to the face. The tall man toppled backward and, eventually, fell off the porch. His back came to found the dirty ground and he gasped as he touched his jaw.

“ Never touch her again. “ Yixing simply said as I ran to him to see if his hand was alright. Kai smirked.

“ Don’t play it too proud , man. I had it all way before and I’ll have it again. There is nothing there for you to take anymore. “ He said as I felt the temperature in me raising up. Again, Yixing didn’t lost a single second. I didn’t  even had the time to watch his fist to make sure it was alright that he was using the fact the other man was still on the ground.
