Chapter 4

“Why are you staring at me like that?” Kyuhyun looked at me peculiarly.

He was still holding my hand and caressing it lightly, I didn’t notice that I was staring at him with a small smile on my face.

“Huh?! Uh---- W-who’s staring?!” I panicked. I just looked at a different direction and released my wounded hand from his grip.

“It’s okay to stare, for you I’ll just charge it for free. And will you please give me your hand again!” He said with a smirk and he grabbed my hand lightly.

Enough with the smirk, Cho Kyuhyun!!!!!

“As if you’re gonna make my hand any better! You’re not a miracle worker, you know?!” I just said to him.

“Who says I’m not? Let’s make a bet then. In one second, not only your hand will be red but also your face.” He said with that deadly smirk.

“What are you talk—“ I was cut off when he suddenly raised my wounded hand and implanted a light kiss on it. My eyes widened and I felt my cheeks burning.

“See! I told you! Your face is also red! I’m a miracle worker aren’t I?” He said then laughed.

“Cho Kyuhyun! You bastard!!” I just lowered my head because I was too embarrassed. Why did I just blush when he kissed my hand?! That’s so translucent of me! Why do I keep giving him reasons to tease me?!

“You don’t mean that! My cute little blushing Kim Ryeowook!” He said then he flashed a big grin which caused his eyes to be even chinkier. It was such a cute sight. Oh God! Focus, Wookie! He’s not cute!

“Now you even added ‘blushing’ what’s next?” I said.

“Maybe, my cute little blushing boyfriend Kim Ryeowook! Isn’t it nice?” He said with a smile. It was like he was serious.

“What are you talking about!?!? Boyfriend?! NEVER!” I almost cursed at him.

“I’ll remember that statement of yours. If one day you’ll be my boyfriend, I’ll keep teasing you with what you just said.”

“Dream on! You’ll never have me!” I lied. If he shows me more of his good side, I’m sure that with just one snap, I’ll be in his arms. 

“Then I’ll just keep dreaming of you. Last night, I dreamt that I was being beaten up and my face was so red because of blood and I felt that I was about to die but you came and you started crying then you suddenly shouted ‘Stay with me Cho Kyuhyun! I can’t imagine life without you! I love you!’ Cute right?” He said then laughed.

“Why would I do that?! Just stick with your dreams then.” I said then I remembered that Kyuhyun was also in my dream last night. 

In the dream, he was in the hospital bed and his face was full of stitches. I cried at the sight of him but he just held on to my hand and placed it against his face. We cried together. His sobs were more tragic and it made me cry even more. I asked him why he was crying then he said ‘You still had to see me dying before you can confess your love to me’ I was puzzled because I didn’t even know what happened before this hospital incident. I woke up with real tears on my eyes and I was still curious to know on what happened why he was in the hospital but it’s just a dream right? Nothing to worry about. 

“My cute little blushing Kim Ryeowook!? Hello?!” I noticed that I was staring blankly into thin air and I was brought back to my senses when Kyuhyun waved his hands in front of me.

“Oh!” I was surprised.

“Did you remember something? Or maybe you also dreamt of me last night?!” He said excitedly.

Guilty.

“No way! You’ll be the last person that will be included in my dreams!” I lied.

“Yeah yeah! By tonight I’ll make it into your dreams! After the way I made you blush, how could you forget me?” He laughed.

“You just love teasing me” I said.

“My life would be incomplete if I didn’t!” He said then laughed. 

I was busy staring at him with an irritated look when the lights suddenly turned off. 

“OH MY GOD! AAHHH! CONTROL ME WOOKIE! CONTROL ME! I FEEL LIKE A MONKEY WHO WAS JUST RELEASED FROM HIS CAGE AFTER 20 YEARS!!” Hyukjae was standing up and shouting like there’s no tomorrow.

“Calm down, Hyukjae! Wait for him to come up first before you go crazy there!” I told him but I guess that wouldn’t help.

Kyuhyun was laughing all the time and made a comment.

“Well, you look like a monkey. I’m impressed on how you can still think logically in situations like this.” He laughed like a crazy man.

“You over there! Shut it!” I told him. 

“Sorry my cute little Kim Ryeowook but you have to admit! Your friend is totally hilarious!” He laughed again.

I took a second look at Hyukjae and I witnessed him screaming and pointing at the stage and acting like he was about to faint. He was even fanning himself. 

“TOO HOT! HE’S TOO HOT!” He kept on screaming.

I couldn’t help but laugh also. I looked at Kyuhyun while laughing and together, we laughed like mad men. When my laugh was fading, I noticed that he was just staring at me with an innocent look. 3 seconds of awkward silence. Soooo awkward! I just looked at Hyukjae but from the corner of my eye, I saw him giving off a small laugh while shaking his head. 

Out of nowhere, Donghae suddenly popped out the stage. I was so surprised because he was so near. I think when I stretch my arm, I would be able to hold his face. Thank you so much Yesung! I would make sure that I would give him something the next day. 

Throughout the concert, I noticed that only Kyuhyun and I were the ones sitting down from the first row and we’re the only ones who were calm. I was just clapping every after performance. When I ask Hyukjae if he’s okay, he would not respond. Instead, he would just scream louder like I was trying to steal something precious from him. I was surprised and Kyuhyun just laughed. Hyukjae only treated me as white noise all throughout the concert, but it was fine by me. 

It was about the middle part of the concert when something happened.

Kyuhyun and I were just randomly teasing each other but the pain from my hand was just kicking in. I tried not to show him that I was in pain, I don’t want to see his worried face again. It would just make me fall hard for him. 

While chatting, a girl from behind us was standing and cheering. We didn’t mind her since it was a concert and it was normal for her to do it. She was jumping so much that her lightstick fell and coincidentally, it fell right on my wounded hand. I couldn’t help but wince in pain.

No one really noticed me scream since everyone was screaming. Hot tears were starting to fall from my eyes. I could feel my hand beating because of pain and I couldn’t do anything but scream. When I looked at my right, what I saw shocked me. 

“YAH! DO YOU WANT TO DIE!! HOW CAN YOU BE SO CLUMSY!!?” Kyuhyun was standing up and he was shouting at the girl. His face was so scary that I couldn’t bear to see it any longer. The girl was about to cry but Kyuhyun wasn’t moved at all. He even grabbed the lightstick and destroyed it in front of the girl’s eyes. 

“Kyuhyun oppa! I’m so sorry!! I didn’t know that your friend was injured!! OPPA! PLEASE ! You’re starting to scare me.” The girl said while stuttering.

“GOOD! YOU SHOULD BE SCARED! IF ANYTHING HAPPENS TO HIM I SWEAR THAT I WILL HUNT YOU DOWN!!!!”

“KYUHYUN! STOP IT!” I shouted at him.

I faced the girl. “It’s okay. It was an accident. I’m so sorry if he was acting like this. I’m asking forgiveness in his behalf.”

“No, oppa! It was my fault I’m really sorry! Please forgive me! Please!”

“I forgive you. Just enjoy the concert.” I told her with a smile. 

I sat down and Kyuhyun was still angry.

“Why did you just let her off that easily?! Sometimes you’re just too kind!” He said.

“This is my hand, okay?! It was an accident, Kyuhyun! So don’t act like you’re responsible for this!” I told him.

“Did you see your face earlier!? I didn’t know what to do! I panicked! It was like your dying from pain!” Kyuhyun said.

“But I didn’t die, right? So just leave it!” I looked at the other side and didn’t talk to him. 

I noticed that one of the bouncers was talking to Kyuhyun and after a minute the bouncer came back and gave something to Kyuhyun. I was too mad at him to even care what the bouncer gave him.

To my surprise, he pulled my wounded hand and I felt a cold feeling on top of it. I still didn’t look at him but I was trying to free my hand from his grip. Obviously, I failed so I just turned around to see what he was doing. 

He placed may hand on top of his lap and he was applying a cold compress on my hand. His face was so sincere and careful while mending my hand. When I saw him like that, all my anger just disappeared like magic. He looked at me and just smiled and he looked back at my hand. He was so sweet. I’m glad that he was seating right next to me. 

When the concert ended, Hyukjae finally sat down but he didn’t realize what happened.

“Are you okay?” Kyuhyun asked me.

“Better. Thanks.” I said plainly.

We were interrupted by Hyukjae.

“Guys! That was the best concert ever! I would really—“ He stopped talking when he noticed that Kyuhyun was taking care of my wounded hand. 

“OMO! WOOKIE! YOUR HAND! I’M SO SORRY! PLEASE FORGIVE ME! OH GOD! WHAT SHOULD I DO!” He was panicking.

“Don’t worry about it, I took care of it. Next time, make sure to not injure your friend’s hand again! Okay?” Kyuhyun said to Hyukjae, like he was giving him a lecture. 

“I promise!!! Wookie, I’m so sorry!” Hyukjae said.

“Hyukjae, it’s all right! I’m glad you enjoyed the concert!” I just said. I didn’t want him to worry.

“Let’s go guys! Time to meet Donghae.” Kyuhyun said then he stood up while holding my hand. I felt comfortable when he was holding my hand, he held on to it lightly which made it feel better. 

Hyukjae was too excited that he was speechless. When we arrived at the backstage, we immediately headed to Donghae’s dressing room.

When we went in, he was already changed into new clothes and he was just seating at the sofa.

“Kyuhyun-ah! Thanks for watching!” He said to Kyuhyun when Donghae saw Kyuhyun going inside his room.

“Hyung! It was a blast! Thanks for inviting me!” Kyuhyun replied. I was surprised because he was so polite and kind.

Donghae was looking at our hands then I suddenly remembered that our hands were intertwined. I immediately shook my hand away from Kyuhyun and just lowered my head.

“Hyung! This is Kim Ryeowook and Lee Hyukjae.” He introduced us.

“Ahhh so you’re Kim Ryeowook, huh? I’ve heard so much about you” He said with a smirk then he raised his eyebrows to Kyuhyun. 

“And who is this cute little fella?” He said looking at Hyukjae.

“I---I’m Lee Hyukjae.” Hyukjae said with a stunned expression. Like he saw a ghost or something. 

“I’m sorry but he is a huge fan!” I said. I was so happy for Hyukjae.

“Ahhh so you’re the friend who wanted the ticke---“ He was cut off when Kyuhyun suddenly screamed.

“HYUNG!” 

“What is it!?” Donghae was surprised.

“Nothing, I thought I saw a rat.” Kyuhyun said. He was so weird.

“Can I ask for your autograph and a picture?” Hyukjae took the courage to ask.

“Of course you can! Come here!” He led Hyukjae near his table and he signed him a poster and gave him a small letter. He even took a picture with him. 

Donghae told us that he has to go because he still needs to rest early for a flight the next day. We all forbade him goodbye and we exited the place.

When we got out, I suddenly saw Yesung with a little girl.

“Yesung!” I called.

“Wookie! I didn’t know that you’re here! I just accompanied my little cousin that was a big fan of Donghae.”

I thought that he was just trying to play with me and didn’t want to be obvious. 

“Thank again, Yesung!” I said but Kyuhyun snorted

“You’re welcome for whatever reason. You keep on thanking me today.” He said then he noticed my hand. “Wookie-ah! What happened to your hand!? Is it okay?!”

“I’m just thankful and my hand is already fine! Don’t worry about it” I said 

“We’ll go ahead then, my cousin is sleepy. Take care of your hand! Bye guys!” He said then he left.

“Hyukjae, let’s go home!” I told Hyukjae. He just nodded and went to my side.

“Thanks for letting us go to the backstage.” I thanked Kyuhyun.

“You’re welcome my cute little blushing Kim Ryeowook.” He said. “I’m sorry that I can’t bring you two home because I still have to record a song tonight. See you at school tomorrow!” I was about to thank him again but I was surprised when he kissed my cheek again!! He ran and went inside a car. 

“Yah! Cho Kyuhyun!” I just shouted.

The next day, I went to school early again because I wanted to give Yesung my gift early in the morning. 

I went to my locker first and when I opened it, there was a plastic with medicine inside and there was a note again.

Dear Kim Ryeowook,

Is your hand okay? In case you still feel in pain, here is medicine to ease the pain. 

Hope you enjoyed the concert last night ^^

Always by your side,
The man with the killer voice

I grabbed the medicine and the note and placed it inside my bag. I went inside the classroom and as usual, Yesung and Kyuhyun were the only ones inside. 

“Yesungie! Good Morning!” He really likes it when I call him Yesungie.

“Wookie! Good morning!” He blushed.

“You’re such an angel, you know? Here’s a little something for you.” I got out from my bag a book. “Here you go! It’s a have a date with Wookie coupon, I designed it myself! You can claim it anytime you want, just tell me so I can make arrangements okay?” I said then winked at him.

“OH GOD! THANK YOU WOOKIE! I don’t know why have you been so kind to me but I guess I’m just lucky huh? ” He said then blushed like crazy. I left him alone with his new coupon and I made my way to the back of the classroom.

As I was walking, it was like déjà vu. Kyuhyun was angry again and he was staring at me. 

I sat down and decided to confront him.

“Why are you so angry at me in the morning?!” I asked him. 

“It’s none of your business.” He said, coldly.

I felt something pierce through my heart. Why was I so hurt with his words? 

“I’m not mad at you okay?! It’s too hard to get mad at you. I’m just bothered because you’re so clueless.” He said.

I didn’t understand what he was saying so I just let him be. I hope he stops acting this way; it’s bothering me like crazy. Last night he was so kind and now he was burning with fury. 

He saw my worried expression and just said,

“I can never get mad at you. Why would I get mad at the reason of my existence, right?” 

I felt myself blushing; he was truly a miracle worker.
