Chapter 19


“Wookie, wake up.” I heard a voice beside my ear.

“Hmmm..” I mumbled.

“You’ll be late for school.” The voice said.

“Kyuhyun?” I asked.

“Oh silly you! You’re not in Kyuhyun’s house anymore!” The voice said once again and I jolted up.

“Mom!” I couldn’t help but gasp.

“Wookie, did you wish that I didn’t bring you home with me last night?” My mom teased me.

“No! I’m fine! At least I had a good sleep since I was alone in bed again!” I defended myself.

“Is that true? Because when I arrived yesterday at Kyuhyun’s house the two of you seemed to be in good and deep sleep while hugging each other.” She continued to tease me.

“Mom, stop it! Just leave so I can prepare for school already!” I tried to make her leave.

“You know if it weren’t for your modest father, I would’ve let you spend the night at Kyuhyun’s house again. But you know your father, he’s too kind and he doesn’t want to trouble Kyuhyun by taking care of you even though I insisted that it’s nothing to Kyuhyun.” She sighed.

“I’m glad dad hasn’t lost his right mind yet. Unlike my mom who has turned into a matchmaker maniac!” I said.

“Okay, Wookie! I’ll leave now. I don’t want you to continue and deny your feelings for Kyuhyun.” She said with a wink then she left the room. 

She’s more like a buddy than a mother. But I’m glad that my mother approves so much of us. At least I don’t have to worry about that.

“Good morning, Wookie. You’re early today.” I was walking towards the school gates when an energetic Kyuhyun walked up to my side.

“Good morning to you too, Kyuhyun.” I said as we continued walking without stopping.

If anybody was looking at us, they would say that we were just some random students that coincidentally bumped into each other and they would say that we were just sharing a random conversation. Little did they know that our undying passion of love for each other rekindles inside us. 

“I see you’re holding something, Kyuhyun.” I looked at the paper bag he was holding.

“Glad you noticed, Wookie.” He said. We were like kids, playing around and stressing every word we say.

“Mind to tell me what it is, Kyuhyun?” I said, trying to hide from him my wide smile.

“Answer me first, strawberry or chocolate?” He asked. By now we were inside the school building and there were only a few students that were coming in.

“Do I even have to tell you the answer to that, Kyuhyun?” I said with raised eyebrows.

“You’re right, Wookie! Loving you for so long should already give me the answer to my question.” He said as he acted like he committed the biggest mistake in the world.

When we reached the classroom, we immediately went towards our seats at the back of the classroom and we continued chatting.

“It would be dumb if I didn’t say that Chocolate was your choice.” He said as he got out something from his paper bag.

“That’s right, Kyuhyun.” I said with a sly smile. 

“Here you go! One cold chocolate milk drink to sweeten up my baby’s day!” He said as he handed me the drink.

“Aren’t you already enough to sweeten up my day?” I said with a smirk I tried so hard to do.

“True enough.” He said with a sincere smile that I loved the most then he leaned closer to leave a kiss on my cheek. “There? All sweetened up?” 

“I’m still not satisfied.” I said, trying to play hard to get. 

“A peck on the cheek is enough for you. After what you did in the shower, I swear to God that I have to slow down on the skinship.” He said as he shook his head with wide eyes.

“Protecting me again, huh?” I said as I rolled my eyes.

“I have too.” He replied seriously.

“Anyway, what’s in store for us today?” I asked.

“Don’t you think that it should be kept secret from you?” He said as he drank the strawberry milk he tried to offer me a while ago.

“Okay, fine. I admit that I do love surprises. I just hope you got something good since today is a Friday and it’s the perfect time to have some fun.” I casually said as I continued to sip my drink.

“Let me just say this.” He said as he crossed his arms.

“What?”

“Prepare your eyes for you will be blinded by the sparkle.” He said with glistening eyes.

“What did you just say?” I asked in confusion.

“You heard me.” He acted all innocent as he continued to drink his strawberry milk.

“Was that supposed to be a hint?” I stopped drinking and I leaned closer to him.

“Maybe.” He shrugged his shoulders coolly.

“That’s unfair, Kyuhyun!” I slapped his arm.

He almost spilled his drink when I hit him.

“How am I unfair? I’m doing this for your own happiness!” He was trying to hide his laughter.

By this time, the number of students was growing as I looked at the classroom. To my surprise, almost all of them were looking at me and Kyuhyun.

“Kyuhyun, what are they looking at?” I asked him with a skeptical look on my face.

“I guess we made the headlines.” He said with a proud smile.

“Why?” I asked.

“The auction really got into their hearts.” He said as he placed his arms at the back of his head to look cool.

Oh, so that was it.

“Come closer to me, Wookie.” He said as he continued to look cool.

“Why?!” I asked in confusion.

“Do you know why they are making such a big fuss in front of us?” Kyuhyun asked.

“Uhhh, no?” I replied.

“Because they want to see some real interaction between us before they believe that we are really together.” He smugly replied.

“You’re such a show off! Like I told you, no PDA!” I reminded him.

“Do you want me to show you the power of manipulation we have over these people?” He suddenly moved his chair nearer to mine.

“What do you mean?” I asked.

“Just watch.” He said confidently.

Kyuhyun slowly placed his arm around my shoulders and the whispers of my classmates started to get louder.

“Kyuhyun you—“ 

“Just wait! You still haven’t seen the fun part.” He said, and then he removed his arm and turned his body towards the opposite direction. 

When people saw this, their hush started to minimize and some stopped looking at us already.

“Is that what you mean by the power we have over them?” I asked.

“Admit it. It was awesome.” He said with raised eyebrows.

“I admit. But I have never been the talk of the town.” Kyuhyun didn’t hear what I was saying because he was placing and removing his arm around my shoulder continuously. As an effect, I noticed that the talking will get louder then lower then louder then lower again. 

“Kyuhyun! Focus! Don’t play with them!” I scolded him.

“Sorry, I’m just amazed.” He said, laughing.

“Omo, what to do? Someone’s acting like he’s all it!” Suddenly, a voice near the front of the classroom spoke. I absolutely know who the owner of that voice is.

“Oh, I think there’s a jealous crybaby who’s too ashamed to show himself!” Kyuhyun suddenly stood up and shouted back.

Oh God, this can’t be happening again.

“Kyuhyun, just stop. Please. I promise to be submissive to you today if you would just sit down and close that blunt mouth of yours.” I was desperate. 

“No, Wookie. It’s time that I teach this turtle boy a good lesson.” He said with a serious expression on his face. This is the side of Kyuhyun I hate the most.

“Ashamed!? Who the hell is ashamed?!” All of a sudden, the students started to move to the side of the classroom, leaving Kyuhyun and Yesung staring at each other from a distance at the middle of the classroom. 

This is not good.

“Well if I were you, I would be ashamed! Heck, I won’t even dare show my face to anyone!” Kyuhyun answered back.

“Noooooo.” I silently whined and buried my face in my palms.

“Is there anything that I should be ashamed of? I’m the perfect guy. I can sing better than you do and I’m better off with Wookie than you!” They were both walking slowly towards each other.

“Ya! You make me laugh. Seriously, you just lost your face during the auction when I won Wookie and we won the grand prize! Wait, do you want me to go on? Cause there’s a better story on what happened to us after we claimed the grand prize!” Kyuhyun acted like he was thinking of something as he used his hand to tap his head.

Yesung’s eyes suddenly became bigger and my classmates continued to whisper to each other.

I decided to stand up and stay in between them since they were starting to get closer to each other.

“I swear to God that if you both don’t stop this instant I would despise the both of you and I’ll erase any memories I have with the both of you!” I hissed under my breath.

“Wookie! Just tell me! You don’t have to lie to me and act like Kyuhyun’s lying! We were friends before all of this so where did our friendship go?!” Yesung stopped looking at Kyuhyun and his eyes were now on me.

“Wookie, he has a good point. You should tell him once and for all what we really have!” Kyuhyun suddenly took Yesung’s side.

A while ago they were about to rip each other’s head off and now they’re teaming up to beat me down and make it look like everything’s my fault? Life is really ironic. I wish I didn’t in anymore.

“Okay fine! Come with me!” I pulled Yesung’s arm and I led the way towards the restroom which I assumed to be empty.

When we arrived, there wasn’t really anyone inside so I closed the door.

“Yesung, I’m sorry if I made things harder for you.” I started to talk.

“Wookie, you don’t have to pity me or say sorry to me. I just want to know the truth between you and that obsessed lover boy of yours! I want to know it, as a friend.” He demanded.

“Yesung I—“ 

“To make things easier, just answer my questions. Do you love him?” He asked bluntly.

“Yes.” I bit my lower lip and stared at the floor.

“How much do you love him?” He asked even more.

I paused for a while to gather my thoughts.

“Seriosuly, I love him so much that I feel sorry for myself because I don’t get to return his feelings for me properly. We both know that I am not really the confident one and I always hide behind anyone’s shadow if I can but when he started to show his affection for me, I realized that it’s about time that I go out of the shell that I used as my hiding place. He made me turn into a new and better person that I’m starting to like as well. I think of him as my life saver because if he didn’t show up in my life, I don’t think anything will happen to me. My life would be meaningless and worthless.” I sincerely said.

“You’re just talking about the change he brought to you! You’re not telling me how much you love him.” Yesung immediately said.

“Is that not enough for you?! Fine! I’ll say what I really feel! I love him so much that I can’t imagine the day that we will separate! Even though I know he won’t leave me and I won’t leave him, there’s still a side of me that thinks he would get bored of me and he will eventually leave me! Whenever I think of that, I just want to die! I can’t think of any other person that fits me the best and I don’t think I will ever find another person that will love me as much as he loves me! If it’s possible I want to get married to him! Oh God what am I saying!? I’m speaking of marriage already! Now you see! That’s how much I love him! I’d rather be a priest than marry another person.” I finally took a deep breath and I realized that tears were falling from my eyes.

“Wookie, I never saw it that way. I’m sorry.” Yesung said as he offered me his handkerchief.

“Thanks.” I gladly accepted it and started to wipe my tears.

“I guess you really can’t live without him, huh?” Yesung sighed.

“Yes and I hope you understand. You are one of my dearest friends and it’s a pain for me to see you fight with the person that I love. I hope you two would just get along like how Kyuhyun and Hyukjae get along. That would really make me happy.” I smiled at him.

“If that would make my dear friend happy then I am willing to make amends with Kyuhyun.” He said then he hugged me tightly.

“Thank you so much, Yesung.” I hugged him back. 

“It’s official, you two are my favorite couple.” He said with a laugh.

“Thanks but the problem is, we’re still not official. I haven’t said yes to him yet.” I hesitated.

“What the hell, Wookie?! Why haven’t you said yes?! That’s bull! When I look at you guys, I always think of a grandmother and a grandfather who has been married for at least 50 years! I don’t see the importance of him waiting for your answer. You love him, he loves you, and you should be official already! JUST SAY YES!” He bombarded me with statements in disbelief.

“We both agreed to it. We want things to be organized and simple.” I replied.

Suddenly, our friendly hug and conversation was interrupted when someone banged the door and someone hissed.

Yesung and I looked at each other with raised eyebrows then we both walked towards the door and opened it.

“Ya! Lee Hyukjae! How dare you push me!?” A very frustrated Kyuhyun welcomed our sight once we opened the door.

“I guess someone’s been eavesdropping.” Yesung shook his head in laughter.

“I wasn’t!!” Kyuhyun tried to convince us but it didn’t work. 

“Get inside!” I pulled his shirt and I dragged him inside. I used my leg to close the door and again, Yesung and I were inside the empty restroom with a silent Kyuhyun.

“Did you hear everything?” I asked Kyuhyun seriously.

“No.” He was lying. I knew it.

“You can’t fool me. I already know you too much.” I said.

“Okay fine! I followed you guys since you left the room!” He admitted.

“I guess I am really okay with you seeing Kyuhyun.” Yesung patted me on the shoulder.

“What?!” Kyuhyun asked in shock.

“It looks like you can’t even let him out of your sight for a second. It truly means that Ryeowook is safe in your arms. I am happy and contented with that.” Yesung sincerely said as he patted Kyuhyun on the shoulder too.

“Thanks, Yesung. You really make me happy.” I said.

“Kyuhyun, I guess you heard Ryeowook’s wish?” Yesung said to Kyuhyun.

“I did.” He nodded.

“Friends?” Yesung offered his hand.

Kyuhyun looked at his hand for a second then he grabbed it and shook it.

“Friends.” He said with a smile.

I couldn’t help but to cry out loud.

“Wookie, don’t cry.” Yesung said then he played with my hair.

“Don’t worry, he has a lot of tears. I promise to be the one who’ll catch it every time it falls.” Kyuhyun said as he grabbed Yesung’s handkerchief form my hand and he used it to wipe my tears.

“Shhhh.. it’s okay. I understand. You can cry your heart out.” Kyuhyun hugged me and I leaned my head on his shoulder.

“I guess it’s time that I leave. You take care of my precious friend, okay?! I’m really happy that you found each other. And Wookie, make sure I have a role in your wedding if you two get married okay!?” He joked then he left the restroom with a smile on his face that I know was pure and true.

“I guess you heard that part too.” I said.

“The marriage part? Yeah, clearly and precisely. I loved each and every word that you said, by the way.” He rubbed my back as we continued to hug.

“Will we talk about that?” I asked with confidence.

“Maybe later. Remember that I’ll take you to a place later, okay? We can talk about marriage there.” Kyuhyun said as I released him from my arms and I stared at his face.

“Okay? I’m really curious as to where you will take me. Can it possibly be our drama themed date?” I asked.

“Maybe. I’m not saying anything right now.” Kyuhyun said with a smirk.

“It better be good because right now, you’re still at the red side of the court-Ryeowook-meter.” I shook my head.

“What’s that?” He asked as he took my hand into his and we made our way towards our classroom.

“It’s an imaginary meter I created in my head. It has the red side and the green side. If you reached the green side, it means that I’m near to saying yes so you better impress me. As of now, you moved up a bit since you made me happy right now.” I explained.

“Oh you make things hard for me, Kim Ryeowook.” He said as he wrapped his hand around me waist.

“Oh Cho Kyuhyun, you also make it hard for me to not say yes immediately.” I replied with a sigh.

His face glowed in delight.

Update! :D It’s not late, right? >.<

Anyway, I’m sorry if this chapter is lacking :| I’m just having a very bad week D: I hope you understand. It’s a bit ironic that I was really happy in my last update but now all of a sudden, I’m down in the dumps D: And I’m a year older next week so it’s kind of depressing that I feel so sad right now :(
