Chapter 12

“Ooooooohh! Cousin Ryeowook has a boyfriend!!” She teasingly said.

I smiled at her and shook her hair.

“I guess I do. ”

Kyuhyun sung exactly two songs and he immediately went back and sat down right next to me.

“That was swe—“ I can’t believe myself for trying to say that but Kyuhyun suddenly spoke and I wasn’t able to finish what I was gonna say. Here I am, willing to tell him that what he did was sweet but yet, he intercepted me. You’re just keeping on missing your chances.

“First of all, don’t hate me for saying that. I was just teasing you because that’s my hobby! You are so gullible! I just can’t resist! And I have to find a way to leave a good impression on your family if ever in the future we really become a couple! But why am I even saying that? I know for a fact that we will become a couple!” He happily said.

Wait, what? He said that just to tease me? Why do I feel so hurt when I heard that he was just teasing me when he said that we were dating in front of my whole clan? Did I really expect us to be a couple just because he said that? Should I just tell him? Ugh, so many questions! I’m so confused as hell!

“My cute little blushing Kim Ryeowook? Are you okay? Why do you look so sad?” I suddenly looked at him and I was mesmerized with his expression. His eyes reads concern and confusion and his lips was curved into a frown. Oh Cho Kyuhyun, couldn’t you get any cuter?! 

“Uhhh, nothing! I just….. uhhh—just don’t mind me!” I hurriedly said.

I don’t know why, but I was angry at him for the moment.

“Come on, tel—“ Kyuhyun was cut off when my little cousin suddenly nagged my arm.

“Cousin Ryeowook!! Let’s play outside!!” Suddenly, all my little cousins joined in.

“Play! Play! Play!”

“Outside!!!!”

I wasn’t facing Kyuhyun so I didn’t see if he wanted to play with them. But why am I even considering him?! I should be mad at him! I WAS READY TO ACCEPT IT! I was about to accept his love for me! His words a while ago were like a force that invited me to give into him! But what did he do? He blew up his chance and said that he was just teasing me?!

Even though I’m really furious at him at the moment, there’s still a part of me that keeps on nagging me to admit defeat to him and just say how much I long for him.

“Okay! Come on, kids! Follow me! Let’s play outside!” I stood up without looking at Kyuhyun. I made sure that all of my cousins were ready and after that, we headed outside. I totally didn’t give any attention to Kyuhyun. I just let him be.

When we were at the garden, I let them run around and I just stood near the big fountain so I can keep watch on them. 

The doors of the reception hall at the sides that leads to the garden were all open so I can clearly see what was happening inside. I looked inside and observed the place. This night was truly a blissful night for my cousin! Whenever I see someone getting married, I couldn’t help but feel a little touched inside. I don’t know why, but it has always been my thing since I learned about marriage and love. Call me typical, but it’s really my dream to get married and live happily ever after with someone. I often think of what will my marriage be like in the future. 

Besides from daydreaming about my marriage, I was also looking for a familiar face that I can’t seem to see. Where the hell is he? I didn’t see him at our table.

“Cousin Ryeowook!!” I was startled when my little cousin shouted in front of me.

I lowered myself near him so I can talk to him properly.

“What is it, baby cousin?” I said with my cutest expression.

“Cousin Sungmin’s here!!! He was looking for you and I said you were here! He said that he will be here in a minute!” He enthusiastically said.

“Sungmin hyung is here?!” I was shocked because of happiness! 

My other cousin! Sungminnie is here!! When there are family events, it’s always Sungmin hyung that helps me with the taming of the little ones.

I stood back up and started to use my eyes to look around the place and look for Sungmin hyung. 

As I was scanning the place, a pair of hands covered my eyes and the body at my back was touching my whole body as well.

“Wooookie!!~~” The voice said in a high tone. 

Omo! It should be Sungmin hyung!! Only his voice can be high just like mine.

“Yaaaaay! I missed you!!” I happily said and turned around to hug him. Because of my excitement, I wasn’t able to look at his face anymore! I was just happy to be hugging him! I miss my hyung!

The hug was so welcoming, comforting and familiar at the same time. I wish I could hug “that” person just like this.

But as I hugged him, I noticed a lot of things. He got thinner, definitely! It looks like his muscles just vanished! And he got taller! Way taller! When I hugged him before, I can place my head on his shoulders but now, I can reach up until to his chest only. What happened to him?!

We were hugging for a long time now and it’s only now that he spoke.

“Wow! You missed me already?! We were just sitting right next to each other 10 minutes ago and now you missed me? Awwww, that’s so sweet, baby Wookie!!” A deep and comforting voice said. Wait, that’s not Sungmin hyung’s voice. And we weren’t together 10 minutes ago. He definitely doesn’t call me baby Wookie. 

Wait, don’t tell me who I think he is.

“Woooookie!!” Someone called me from afar. That was definitely Sungmin hyung’s voice.

“You know, we could stay in this position forever if you want to. I think you do.” He said. Even though I wasn’t looking at him, I know that a smirk is plastered on his face.

When he said “we could stay in this position forever if you want to”, I suddenly remembered our hug at the recording studio. What he said was the exact thing I wanted to say during that time.

I immediately pushed him off and I didn’t realize how hard I pushed him since he fell on the ground.

“Wookie! Don’t do that!” I heard Sungmin hyung shout and he ran immediately towards us. We were just a few meters away from each other and he was shocked when he saw that I pushed Kyuhyun away.

“Wookie! What did I ever do to you!? Weren’t you satisfied with the hug?! Do you want me to hug you tighter?!” Kyuhyun said in disbelief. Even though it sounds like he was joking, the intensity of his voice scared the hell out of me. I don’t want him to be mad at me again. 

For a moment, I forgot the fact that I was mad at him and I immediately knelt down beside him.

“Kyuhyun! I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to push you like that! Are you hurt? Where?!” I said in panic. I was mindlessly holding different parts of his body to see if he was really hurt.

“Wookie~ it hurts!” He cried.

I was so scared by his sobs. It made me feel hurt on the inside too.

“Where!?!?” I almost shouted.

“My head! I think it hit the ground hard.” He said while pulling his hair.

“STOP PULLING YOUR HAIR!” I shouted and I immediately grabbed his hand which was pulling his hair. I held onto it tightly and I promised myself to never let go if it because he might use it again to hurt his head even more. Or is that really the only reason?

“It hurts! Can you please support my head so it doesn’t touch the ground anymore?!” He struggled to utter the words through his gritted teeth.

I immediately did what he said. I was still gripping his hand tightly while my other hand was supporting his head. Because of this, I had no choice but to be close to his face. We were only inches apart and I can’t do anything about it because he was hurting.

“Is that okay?!” I panicked.

He whispered something and I couldn’t hear what he said.

“What?! Speak up!” I shouted.

“I… can’t. Closer.” He said lightly.

“I should come closer?!” I asked hurriedly.

He just nodded his head.

I lowered my head and I twisted my head so that my ear was only a few centimeters away from his mouth.

“Face me.” He said with pain.

What to do?! I just couldn’t face him like that?! That would drive me crazy!

He suddenly winced in pain.

“Okay! Okay! I’m doing it!” I said in a fast pace.

When I faced him, the space between us was just like a strand of hair separating us.

His forehead was creased in pain and his eyes were closed. I didn’t know why he made me do this but all of a sudden, his eyes opened and he stopped whining in pain. Instead, he flashed me a smirk.

“What the—“ I was cut off when he placed his other hand on top of my head and he pushed down my head, making our lips touch.

When he kissed me, my grip on his hand suddenly became lighter but I didn’t even think of letting it go. His hand on top of my head became lighter to but I didn’t know why I didn’t take that advantage to release myself from his mind messing kiss. I let him kiss me during the first few seconds but I immediately responded after that, without hesitation. I never knew that I had the ability to kiss like that. 

As I responded to his kiss, his hand left my head and he immediately shifted it on my back, trying to hug my body with one arm. 

I stopped responding, realizing that this was too much for me and that kids might be watching us. 

I quickly stood up and I turned my back on him.

“Wow.” I heard him say like he was out of breath.

“Don’t utter another word.” I said in disgust. I don’t know why I feel like crying. Maybe because I know that it would be hard for me to initiate those kinds of kisses with him because I’m such a coward for being too scared of telling him how I really feel.

“I won’t utter any word that would tease you.” He said then I felt his arms around my waist. 

He placed his chin on my shoulder and whispered something to me.

“Can’t we just stay in this position first?” He said seductively.

“No because it disgusts me.” I said then I released myself from his hug.

I walked a little and saw Sungmin hyung sitting by the fountain and drinking something while watching us.

“Hyung! I thought that was you who hugged me!” I explained.

“No need to explain, Wookie! I saw everything!” He said with his cutest smile.

“You did?! Why?!” I said then buried my face in my palms.

“Don’t worry, the others explained that you were here with your boyfriend so there’s no need to be shy! You were just having a moment with your boyfriend!” He said.

“Hyung, he’s no—“

“Come on, Wookie. Give your favorite hyung a hug!” He said with open arms.

I immediately accepted the invitation of his arms by hugging him back.

“I missed you, hyung! I wish we can spend more time with each other!” I happily said. At least I’m hugging the real Sungmin hyung now.

Our hug was interrupted when my arms were suddenly grabbed by someone.

“Baby! We were just kissing a while ago and now you’re hugging another guy! You’re turning into a bad person! At school it’s Yesung and now him!” He said and looked at Sungmin hyung with irritation.

Sungmin hyung just laughed.

“Allow me to introduce myself. Hi! I’m Sungmin! Wookie’s cousin and favorite hyung!” Sungmin hyung say and he offered a hand to Kyuhyun.

“Oh! Is that it? I’m sorry then! Hello! My name is Cho Kyuhyun! Wookie’s boyfriend!” Kyuhyun happily replied and he shook Sungmin hyung’s hand.

Boyfriend?! I want him to introduce himself in that way when we are already an OFFICIAL couple. Again, I hate you Kyuhyun for missing out on your chance!

“I know! Everybody’s talking about it inside!” Sungmin hyung replied.

They stopped talking when we heard my cousin, the bride, talking. We heard it through the speakers.

“Everyone! Kyuhyun and Ryeowook have a special surprise for us! They recorded a song and they are happy to share it to us today! Even though the song is about letting go of your love for the sake of his or her happiness, it’s still our relative Ryeowook’s hard work so I gladly volunteered to let the song play here! Let’s just imagine that this is a happy song!” Everybody laughed. “I would like to call Kyuhyun and Ryeowook to be the second couple to dance under the spotlight after my husband and me. Where are they?” She asked.

Are my ears playing with me or is this for real?

“Wookie, you better go inside now. Don’t keep the bride waiting.” Sungmin hyung said.

“Let’s go, baby!” Kyuhyun said. He grabbed my hand and dragged me all the way inside.

“Hyung! Take care of the little kids!” I shouted at Sungmin hyung as Kyuhyun dragged me.

When we stepped inside, everyone clapped their hands. Oh God, this is not happening. I’m not used to too much attention.

“There they are! Let’s start! Music please!” She said then her husband took her hand and they made their way to the dance floor.

Even though I know what song was gonna play, I was still surprised. It was Let’s Not, the song Kyuhyun and I recorded! I can’t do this! Everyone’s hearing my voice! Noooo!

“Don’t be nervous, Wookie! You’re voice is great!” Kyuhyun complimented me. I was touched. I felt my heart fluttering when I heard him complimenting me.

“I’m not nervous!” I lied.

“Yes you are! Your hands are shaking like crazy and they’re freezing cold.” He said. “Don’t worry, I’m here.” He said then he stole a peck on my cheeks.

With that, he held onto my hand tightly and he led the way to the dance floor.

When we were there, I can hear soft squeals from the guests and I couldn’t help but feel happy about it. I’m dancing with Cho Kyuhyun, the man I love. I should be happy.

He sincerely smiled first before placing his hands on my waist. I didn’t know what to do with my hands so he let go of me for a second just to place my hands around his neck. 

When our hands were on the right place, he started to sway and I just followed after him.

Life couldn’t get better, that’s all I can say. We were so close to each other that I have no choice but to look at him straight in the eyes. People would talk if we don’t gaze at each other.

How I wish we could be like this forever.

“How I wish we could be like this forever.” Kyuhyun said. Whoa, we were thinking of the same thing.

“In your dreams.” I said with a raised eyebrow.

“Are you sure because I just learned something a while ago.” He said with a smirk that kills.

“What is that?” I nervously said.

“A while ago, I was talking with one of your little cousins, and she said something surprising to my ears.” He continued to keep me hanging.

“Just tell me what it is!” I demanded.

“Ooooooohh! Cousin Ryeowook has a boyfriend!!” He imitated my little cousin’s voice.

Oh no.

“I guess I do?” He imitated my answer. “Really, Wookie? Is that why you were so mad at me?” He continued to ask me these melting questions.

“I just said that because I was talking to a kid!” I defensively said.

“I guess I do! I guess I do! I guess I do!” Kyuhyun continued to tease me.

We noticed that the bridge was already starting.

“That’s our moment, Wookie!” He enthusiastically said.

I didn’t know what to do. My emotions were eating me up inside that I couldn’t help it anymore! I wanted to shout to the whole world my love for Kyuhyun! But of course, I’m such a coward.

Suddenly I let my heart took over and I can’t believe I said the next words.

“I meant it.” I said with my head bent down.

“Meant what? The part that you said I guess I do or the part that you were talking with a little kid?” He was still in a teasing mode. He didn’t know that I was serious.

“The I guess I do part.” I simply said. 

“Yeah?” He was still playing with me.

“Kyuhyun. I said, I meant it.” 

His smile suddenly turned into a shocked expression.

SORRY FOR THE LATE UPDATE! T_T I just got home from a vacation in Singapore so I hope this chapter will make it up for the late update >.<

I just have to share to everyone that SM THE BALLAD IS FREAKING AWESOME! My favorite song is Hot Times and Love Again! I played Love Again over and over while writing this :) To those who haven’t heard it yet, you MUST!
