" She's the kind of cold that isn't measured by the temperature."

Sarang blinked a few times before her vision became normal. She sat up as she scanned the surroundings and started to panic when she observed the unfamiliar surroundings but relaxed when she recalled the events that happened.
"You're awake." Kai walked into the room with bandages and medicine in his hands.
"It's about time to change your bandages."
"How long was I out?"
"About two days."
"Why are you doing this?" Sarang didn't want to sound like an nasty and ungrateful and thankfully her voice came out weaker than she expected.
Sarang's question had taken the male by surprise as he took a while to answer her.
"I don't know, I just felt that I couldn't leave you there to bleed to death." He replied honestly, shrugging his shoulders.
This time, it was Sarang who was taken aback by his answer. Never in Sarang's life did someone actually cared for her the way the guy did. She had only met the guy not long ago but he had already saved her not once, but twice.

funny how a stranger is caring for me more than my family ever would. 

A strange warmth spread across Sarang's cold heart, it was something she had not felt in a long, long time. Looking at Kai's side profile as he tended her wounds, she couldn't help but to feel grateful towards to guy.

"Now, tell me more about yourself." Kai conveniently pulled a chair beside the bed and settled beside Sarang.
"There's nothing interesting about me." Sarang muttered.
"You are, to me." He gave her a playful smile.
Clearing out of awkwardness, Sarang asked,
"What about you? You do know about-"
"Yes I know. And many other things too."
"How-"
"Curiosity kills the cat, Sarang. Don't try to know too much." Kai cut her off again.
Sarang opened to protest but Kai stood up to leave the room.
"Its okay if you don't want to tell me about you now," Kai turned.
"because I'm gonna make you tell me about you, yourself." 
"And you might want to take a shower. There's clothes in that wardrobe, mine though." 

Kai ruffled his hair in total frustration and confusion. From the moment he decided to bring Sarang to his apartment, there had been one question bugging him-
why did he care so much about Sarang?
He was positive that he didn't like the girl in that way but he felt that he had the responsibility to protect her. The girl was familiar although he had just met her two days ago. Kai groaned as he made his way to the bedroom and jumped towards the bed to vent his frustration. Closing his eyes, he took deep breathes as he told himself to calm down. After all, Kai never lost his cool. Unknowingly, he was starting to fall asleep after a wave of fatigue hit him.

Stepping out of the bathroom, the sight that greeted Sarang almost made her chuckle. Kai was asleep peacefully on the bed with his lips slightly pouting.Sarang had to admit, he was looking adorable like an innocent child. Letting a small smile linger on her face, she reached over for a blanket to cover Kai but was instead down towards the bed and him. She had landed comfortably on him, with her head buried within his chest.
"You smell good." Kai opened one of his eyes and pulled her closer as he took another whiff of her. 
Sarang didn't know whether to be angry at the man for his bold actions or to flush red like an embarrassed girl due to the close body contact. With her face in a faint tinge of pink, Sarang pushed Kai away almost immediately and stood up.
"I have to go." Sarang was getting ready to leave but Kai tugged at her wrist. 
"Give me your number." Kai coughed. Damn. He sounded like a 17 year old boy asking his crush for her phone number and couldn't help but to wish he sounded cooler.
"Why should I?"
Flustered, Kai snatched her bag and searched for her mobile phone. He punched in his number at lightning speed and hit dial.
"Now you'll have someone to call when you are lonely." No, so that you'll have someone to save you the next time you get into trouble. 
But of course, Kai didn't tell her the real reason. He knew Sarang was more of the stubborn kind and wouldn't want any help from others but he had to ensure she had someone to call when she really needed help.
Sarang rolled her eyes inwardly as she grabbed her mobile phone back.
"You're weird, you know that?"
"Oh, Sarang, you don't know anything about me." He smiled charmingly, as if to taunt her.
"See you soon!" Kai greeted as Sarang left the house while muttering something about Kai being a weirdo.

A genuine smile appeared on his face. Sarang was an interesting girl and Kai found himself enjoying her company but snapped out of it when he reminded himself,
don't get attached to people, so you don't have to lose them.
 

Hello! I was so frustrated and mad at myself because I accidentally deleted the chapter TWICE after I was almost done with it while I was typing this on my phone so I gave up and used the computer instead. It was really annoying because I actuallly write the chapter on the spot when the ideas hit me so that I write out the fresh stuff argh but finally done with the second chapter haha.
