“SungMi ah, want to hang out today after school ? I’ll treat you to ice cream.” DanBi asked SungMi who was sitting beside her in class. Their History lesson had just ended and the teacher already left.

SungMi’s eyes sparkled at the idea and eagerly nodded her head with a huge grin on her face. “Oh, I’d love to !! This is the first time someone asked me to hang out with them ! That is so nice of you, DanBi ah. I am so happy !”

DanBi only smiled and nodded her head before packing her books away and got ready for the next lesson. “So, after school it is then.” She said while looking at SungMi’s happy face.

However, about three seconds later, SungMi’s expression suddenly changed into a sad one with a pout as she remembered something important all of a sudden. Her smile and sparkly eyes earlier had gone as if someone had immediately stamped this new expression on her.

DanBi frowned at her sudden change and asked, “What’s wrong, SungMi ? I thought you were happy just now.” SungMi nodded her head sadly and said, “I am ! But then I forgot that today after school, that annoying jerk will be waiting for me to buy him the cream for his ‘poor’ scratch on his elbow. Not to mention that he even insisted that I will be the one applying the cream on his wound. This is so frustrating !! I wanna hang out with you instead !! He is such a jerk !! It was an accident though !!” SungMi started whining loudly and the rest of the class started giving her weird looks.

Even Zelo who was sitting on the other side couldn’t help but to frown at her odd behaviour.

DanBi didn’t understand a single word she was saying at first but after a few moments of thinking, she began to know just who SungMi was whining about. With a small sigh, she asked, “Do you mean, Jung DaeHyun-ssi, SungMi ?”

SungMi nodded while scratching her head in frustration. “Yeah him ! I accidentally ran into him with my skateboard this morning and somehow he got a scratch on his elbow. Because of the collision.” SungMi explained. “He threatened me that if I don’t take the resposibility, he is going to tell everyone that I was the one who put the thumbtacks on Mr Kim’s chair !! I AM DOOMED IF ALL OF THEM FIND OUT, DANBI AH !!!” SungMi exclaimed dramatically while gripping DanBi’s shoulder before shaking them mercilessly.

DanBi who was trying her best to calm SungMi down and at the same time begging her to stop shaking her shoulders, found it difficult to do because SungMi had extremely gone insane. All eyes were now on the two of them. Some of them were shaking their heads at SungMi’s behaviour, some of them pitied DanBi who was literally dying because of SungMi, and some of them were narrowing their eyes at SungMi because of what she just said.

“I CAN’T LET THEM KNOW, DANBI AH ~~ !!!” SungMi cried out and stopped shaking her poor friend as her hands were held steadily by DanBi. DanBi who was trying to breath patted SungMi’s head and tried to comfort her. “SungMi, calm down. You’re already letting the whole class to hear you ! They already know now because you keep panicking like this.” DanBi said as she cupped SungMi’s face.

As much as she wanted to say that she didn’t understand a single word SungMi was saying, she decided not to ask anything and calm SungMi down instead. DanBi knew that if she asked her what actually happened, it will cause another drama from SungMi. Hence she decided to just ask Zelo later. Who knows he might know what SungMi was fussing and panicking about.

After a couple of attempts of trying to make SungMi breath and cool down, finally the girl had stopped panicking and back to her old self. She began to breath properly and DanBi sighed in relief. She never knew that when SungMi was panicking, it was very hard to handle. Her heart was about to fall off when SungMi was shaking her vigorously just now.

“That’s good. Just calm down, SungMi. Don’t panic. So, back to our first discussion. Since you have to follow DaeHyun to the pharmacy after school, I guess our hang out today will have to be postponed then.” DanBi said gently once she was sure that SungMi won’t freak out all of a sudden again.

SungMi nodded her head sadly. She wanted to hang out with DanBi so much and she was so overjoyed when DanBi asked her just now. It meant a lot to her but sadly she can’t because she had promised with DaeHyun. What a bad timing.

Silence came around for a moment and suddenly SungMi had an idea. Her face lit up and she quickly turned to DanBi who was reading her book. DanBi looked at her back and couldn’t help but to chuckle seeing SungMi’s grin. “What is it, SungMi ? Why are you smiling ?” DanBi asked.

SungMi clapped her hands and said, “I just had a brilliant idea. What if you just follow me and JerkDae after school ? Well, we might not hang out normally like others would but at least we’re still with each other.  So what do you think ? It might be a good thing for me as well since I will have someone to back me up if he scolds or nags me. I don’t know if I can survive another five minutes being around him.” SungMi looked at DanBi hopefully with her big eyes.

DanBi frowned a little and only looked at SungMi with hesitating eyes. Well, at first the original plan was only the both of them hanging out together but it had to be canceled because SungMi had to be somewhere else. Now, all of a sudden, SungMi asked her to tag along with them. DanBi wasn’t sure whether she should follow or not. Maybe I shouldn’t. This is between the two of them.

Seeing DanBi contemplating with herself, SungMi pouted and clasped her hands in front of her and gave DanBi her famous SungMi’s Pleading Eyes. “Awe, please DanBi !! Please please please please please ~~~ Please ~~~ with cherry on top !” She begged DanBi who was fighting with herself not to give in.

“PLEASSSSEEE ~~~~~ WITH TRIPLE CHERRY AND MACAROONS ON TOP !” SungMi tried again and blinked a few times at DanBi. The whole class kept looking at their direction while wondering what in the world was going on. They can never get used to SungMi’s unexpected actions. One minute she was quiet like a mouse, the next minute she suddenly being very noisy.

A small smile was formed on DanBi’s face then as she couldn’t stand seeing SungMi’s silly attitude. A little laugh escaped from her lips and she quickly nodded her head, saying that she agreed. “Fine,fine,fine. I’ll follow you, okay ? Just stop your pleading you look very funny.”

SungMi grinned widely and hugged her seatmate, almost squeezing her so hard till DanBi found it hard to breath. DanBi laughed and only patted SungMi’s back, clearly amused that she can even get excited by the littlest of things.

So, after school, as promised(forced), SungMi and DanBi waited for DaeHyun at the school gate since his classes finished 30 minutes later then theirs. During those 15 minutes, DanBi was trying her best to keep SungMi where she was, which was at the school gate. The girl tried to run away since DaeHyun hadn’t arrived yet and DanBi had to stop her each and every time and kept reminding her of DaeHyun’s threats.

“We can make it now if we run, DanBi ! Believe me ! We don’t have to do as he says if we run now !” SungMi said as she tried to pull her hand back, which was being firmly held by DanBi. They were struggling with each other at the school gate and all students were giving them weird looks, especially at SungMi.

With a stern look that she tried her hardest to put on, and with a firm voice, DanBi said, “No, SungMi. You are not to go anywhere. You agreed with him that you’ll take responsibility for knocking into him right ? And just remember what he threatens to do if you refuse, like what you told me. Besides, I’m with you, am I not ? I’m sure he won’t scold you badly. You just need to buy him the cream that’s all !!”

So that was the case, for half an hour. SungMi kept trying to run away while DanBi tried to keep her at place. She even held onto a pillar with one hand while the other was holding onto SungMi’s, just so that she can’t run away. DanBi even begged the guard to block the gate so that SungMi will not be able to pass through.

Despite not understanding anything, the guard obediently stood firmly in front of the gate with his arms widely spread, not allowing SungMi to escape. Even though he didn’t know what was going on, he was well aware that SungMi was trying to run away from something that she must’ve done wrong.

Enough said since she got away each and every time.

They were making so much noise that even DaeHyun frowned to himself as he was watching the commotion. He was walking towards the gate and since there were not many students left, he could clearly see two figures including the guard at the school creating a scene.

Glancing at a skateboard in one of the figures hands, DaeHyun shook his head as he knew it was none other than SungMi, creating a problem.

He walked faster towards the two girls and immediately recognized DanBi despite she was back facing him. He frowned deeper upon the sight he was seeing. Even after he was standing close enough to the two of them, they still didn’t realize he was there because they were so busy struggling with each other.

“What the heck is going on ?” DaeHyun sternly asked, at the same time making the two of them stopped whatever they were doing. DanBi still had her arm on SungMi’s as the two of them looked at DaeHyun with widened eyes. Even the guard who was still standing at the gate protectively finally put his arms down and sighed.

DaeHyun raised his eyebrows at the both of them and asked directly at SungMi, “You’re trying to run away, aren’t you ?” Which he later received a sheepish grin from SungMi as the answer. The girl didn’t know what to say and kept scratching her head instead. DaeHyun shook his head and sighed as he said, “What is going to become of you, Lee SungMi ? You can’t keep running away from being responsible to whatever mistakes you’ve done. I guess if I hadn’t arrived sooner you were already on your way to who knows where.”

He turned to DanBi who still had one of her arms around the pole while the other was gripping onto SungMi’s arm securedly. Even after DaeHyun was standing right in front of them she made no attempt of letting SungMi’s arm go. DaeHyun chuckled and shook his head again.
