The Nochelas' household is as equally ancient as the Diarias'. They had both been walking the earth before the establishment of any standard unit or measure of time, so their ages remained unknown. Besides, counting is for those whose days are numbered.

Inherent characteristics kept them apart; as their internal clocks differed, they did not mingle often. Rather than having a particular dispute, the fact that the Diarias favoured the day, whereas the Nochelas had nocturnal tendencies, provided few opportunities for them to interact. They merely stuck to their respective species, as they had more in common. For the Diarias, it was difficult to befriend someone who slept while they were at the peak of activity, and vice versa for the Nochelas.

They could not help that they were intrinsically different at their very core, from the offset. The Nochelas favoured blood, the Diarias thrived on flesh. The Nochelas preferred to have a stable establishment, the Diarias were wanderers. As time passed, they grew apart. The Diarias were the first to venture to undiscovered land. They both kept their existence hidden, for the sake of peacefully co-existing with the humans.

They had witnessed, and actually played a role in every significant event which led to the development of mankind. The establishment of modes of transportation made it easy to increase their families' numbers, and create a network branching to every nook of the world. Leaders of countries and organizations were merely figureheads as they controlled their respective fields behind the scenes. As this continued, the Diarias and Nochelas formed underground empires, a world within the unknowing humans' world. As the two owners of the halves of the world, naturally competitiveness kicked in, and this is what drove them to animosity towards each other; greed. 

However, how did they come to be? What resulted in the birth of these superior humanoids? Evolution? They simply were, just as all the animals and plants and soil were, placed there by God.
