Chapter Eleven

Not So Lonely Island

Chapter Eleven

"Yuri!" Jessica screeched as she woke up to the sight of Yuri being dragged out the hut. Getting up immediately, still a little groggy from just waking up, Jessica ran after them.

"Yuri!" She began to race after Yuri until she saw who she was up against. It seemed as if the whole tribe was there.

She froze and noticed how Yuri's eyes were wide in fear. Her own eyes were just as wide.

"Don't." Yuri shook her head as she felt the man's nails dig into her skin, "Don't."

Jessica's eyes began to tear up.

"Let her go!" She screamed.

They didn't let her go.

"Jessica," Yuri started off quietly, "They won't hurt you if they have me. Go back inside." Yuri tried her best to keep calm, to not let Jessica know she was in pain right now.

She didn't want Jessica to know the tip of a very sharp object was pressed against her back right now.

"Yuri, no!" Jessica began to walk forward which only made Yuri scream out in pain as the object dug deeper into her skin, cutting into her.

Jessica stopped walking immediately and the tears began to fall down her cheeks endlessly, "Let her go!" She screeched.

They began to walk away.

It was then that Jessica noticed the sharp rock they had against Yuri's lower back.

"Let her go, you murderers!"

It was no use.

"Yuri!" Jessica wanted to run after Yuri, but what was the use?

She'll end up getting both her and Yuri killed.

But maybe, just maybe, being killed trying to defend the one you love isn't such a bad idea.

And so Jessica ran.

-

Her eyes opened, she felt cold. It was cold. Why was it so cold? Oh no.

Was she dead?

Yuri adjusted her eyes to the bright lighting and gasped when she saw where she was. A hospital.

She sat up quickly, looking around hastily, "Jessica?" The name escaped her lips without her even having to think.

"Yuri-ssi, you're awake." It was a man's voice. Yuri looked and saw a doctor staring at her with a clipboard in hand.

"Where's Jessica?"

"Ah, Ms. Jung? She's already been transferred to a hospital in Seoul."

Yuri ignored her aching heart, "Then where am I?"

"Jeju." The doctor said, "I'm Dr. Lee. The cut in your back should heal soon enough. You're not dehydrated but you are underweight." He began to explain but Yuri wasn't listening, her head was spinning.

"Wait." Yuri stopped the man from talking anymore.

"What the hell happened?" She snapped, not in a very good mood.

Dr. Lee lowered his clipboard, "From what the officers told me, Mr. Jung had sent out helicopters to search the borders of Jeju island and one of the helicopters had spotted 'SOS' in the sand."

"And then?" Yuri asked.

"That's all they told me." Dr. Lee stated, "Now, Yuri—"

"Is Jessica okay?" Yuri asked quickly.

"Pardon?" Dr. Lee replied.

"Jessica. Is she okay? She's in good condition, right?" A worried expression was planted on Yuri's face.

"As I've said before, Ms. Jung has been transferred to a hospital in Seoul, I don't have a clue what goes on over there. I apologize."

Yuri's demanour weakened, "Oh. Okay."

"Your father is outside. Should I call him in?"

"My dad?" She scoffed, "You mean the person my mother decided to remarry." She muttered under her breath, "Fine, whatever. Call him in." She spoke.

It was only a couple minutes until Yuri saw Yujin quickly rush into the room.

"Yuri! Are you okay? Does it hurt anywhere? I tried to come in earlier but they wouldn't let me in." He rambled.

Yuri groaned and closed her eyes, "I'm okay. I'm just sore."

Yujin backed off a bit, "Oh. Good."

"And why are you even in Korea?" Yuri asked, opening her eyes, "Aren't you supposed to be in America with mom and Yoona?"

Yujin sat on the side of Yuri's hospital bed, "When I heard about the plane crash, I took the first plane to Seoul."

Yuri raised an eyebrow, "You heard about a plane crash and you decided to take the first plane to Korea?"

The older man rubbed the back of his neck, "It wasn't a very smart idea. But I did it anyways."

"You were on that island for nearly four months, Yuri. I was so worried. Everyone was so worried."

"Everyone?" Yuri asked skeptically, "Everyone as in who?"

"Yuri." Yujin said in a stern tone. Yuri scoffed and looked away.

"Everyone thought that the plane left no survivors but you two made it out. You two stayed alive."

"Us two, meaning Jessica and I?"

"Yeah." Yujin nodded, "The Korean and American headlines are going crazy over you two."

Yuri closed her eyes, "Don't tell me.."

"Many people asked to interview you two."

A groan escaped Yuri's lips.

"I'm not going to any stupid interview." Yuri shook her head. The thought of seeing Jessica again gave her a btitersweet feeling.

"Why not, Yuri?" Yujin asked, "They'll pay you. That can help us with your college funds."

Yuri's eyes snapped open, "You sent me to Korea to 'learn some decency' not to go to college."

"College doesn't sound like a bad idea, though."

The tan girl turned her head the other way and stared out the window, "I'll do the interviews when I'm healthy and everything. Now, could you please leave? I have a massive headache and I have the urge to go to sleep for a week or two."

Yujin smiled a little before standing up, "Yuri." He called out.

Yuri looked over.

"I was really worried about you." His tone was soft, "I'm glad you're okay."

Yuri smiled a bit and nodded, watching as Yujin left. Her smiled faded as soon as the door closed.

She just wanted to see Jessica again.

-

Jessica kept a poker face on as she felt her stylist washing her hair.

"Oh dear, your hair has gotten so damaged over the last four months. This won't do." The stylist's chirpy voice rang in Jessica's ear. The blonde girl heaved a sigh.

As soon as she had woken up, everyone was on her. Whether it be to cleanse her body or to change her clothes, something was being done to her in order for her to look like a millionare's daughter again.

And not even once did Jessica hear, "I'm glad you're safe." or anything along those lines.

Hell, as soon as she woke up from the hospital and was given the okay to leave, her butler checked her out, not her father, not her mother, her butler. And what made it worse was that nobody knew a thing about what Yuri was doing or where she was.

"Eat this, Ms. Jung." The chef placed a plate of food in front of her as soon as one of the maids had pulled out a seat for Jessica.

"Thank you." Jessica mumbled, staring at the food.

Even though on the island she wished to be back home with working water and fresh food, right now, she wanted to be anywhere but her home.

"Ms. Jung." A nearby maid called out. Jessica looked over, "What is it?"

"Ms. Park from the morning show wanted to know if you're okay with doing an interview with her."

It had not even been a day yet since she's been 'rescued' and calls from all over Korea and America had been given to her for interviews.

And Jessica had always replied the same thing.

"Is Kwon Yuri going to?"

And whenever the person replied with "No." Jessica said, "Then I'm not going either."

-

"Ms. Park? The famous one with the morning show?" Yuri asked as Yujin gave her a cup of water.

"Yeah, her."

"Asked me to do an interview with her?"

Yujin nodded. Yuri sipped on her water before nodding, "Yeah, I'll do it I guess."

Her stepfather smiled and stood up, pulling out his phone, "Alright, I'll call her and tell her that you said yes." As he began to walk out the door, he called back over his shoulder, "Oh! and Yuri."

"Yeah?"

"That Jessica Jung girl is going too."

Long time no see, readers (: I apologize if you wanted more 'island chapters' but it gets repetitive after a while so I decided to switch it up. I have one more week of school, so yay! I hope everyone has a nice week, stay stafe, readers!
