Lu Han is Broken
Cold HeartedToday, I went with my unnies to dance practice. I loved dancing, especially with SNSD. All of them were amazing dancers and singers, and as much as I'd hate to admit it, Hyo Min's dancing skills were magnificent. She almost never messed up a move and she was quite talented. Baekhyun stood in the corner of the room, watching all eleven of us dance. It was probably a huge show for him by the way he stared. Not that he was a ert because I'm sure all guys would do the same. Such weirdos...
I heard the door open as we neared the end of the song. I looked back and saw Chanyeol smiling back at me with flowers in his hand. I felt my cheeks burning with an unexpected blush as I finished the song with the y pose. I stopped finally and went over to him, hugging him.
"Hello, Chanyeol," I said happily as I released him. He handed me the flowers and I breathed in the delicate, floral scent, grinning so much that it hurt my cheeks. Baekhyun stood right next to him, eyeing the flowers.
"Yah, Chanyeol, you're so nice to her," Baekhyun said, still focusing his eyes on the flowers. Chanyeol smiled at him.
"Aren't I supposed to be? The media will go crazy if and when we break up," Chanyeol with the words "if and when," as if he wasn't sure whether we would break up. I currently wasn't sure either. "Aren't you nice to Jessica?" he asked as Jessica came over to her faux lover.
Baekhyun smiled at him like he knew what Chanyeol was saying. He put his arm around her. "Yes, of course I'm nice to my dear Jessica," he replied. I looked around for a camera man, and sure enough, he was standing in the corner filming us. He was only supposed to film SNSD, but now there was something real to film.
"Well, we have to go now. Bye, chingu," Chanyeol said, taking my hand and bringing me to his car. We went to his apartment, like yesterday, and we watched a movie together. It was a love story about two high schoolers who weren't allowed to be together because their parents hated each other. I snuggled up to Chanyeol and laid my head on his chest.
We were halfway through the movie, when they were about to kiss, when Lu Han and Kai burst through the front door. Chanyeol had to pause the movie to stop and stare. Lu Han was a mess; blood was flowing heavily from the right side of his head and nose, his left eye was blackened and swollen, he had to be held up by Kai, and parts of his clothing had been torn. He also looked like a child's coloring book, because purple, blue, green, and red marks dotted his pale skin. He looked so unlike himself. Like he was broken.
"What happened to you?!" Chanyeol blurted out. Lu Han seemed to be quite out of breath, so all he could do was give us an innocent and terrified look.
"We don't have time for questions, Chan. We have to help him," Kai said, bringing his friend into the dining room. I rushed in there, followed by Chanyeol, and Lu Han was sitting on the round table, breathing in short gasps. Chanyeol went into the kitchen and came back with a wet rag, gently wiping away the blood from Lu Han's nose.
"Okay, hold that on and pinch the bridge of your nose. Good, now lean your head forward," Chanyeol coaxed him. The injured boy obeyed, and Kai went in the kitchen, bringing back an icepack to put on Lu Han's eye.
"You're fine, chingu. We'll take care of you," Kai spoke softly. This was the first time I had ever heard Kai say something without a stone in his words or an annoying spice of anger. He left the icepack for Lu Han to hold on his face. "Just relax. You're okay," he said. Once Kai moved away from Lu Han, I was faced with Lu Han's wet eyes and hurting expression.
I moved into the kitchen, which was apparently the cornucopia for useful items. I grabbed a rag and ran it under some water, running back into the dining room. I quickly patted away some that was dripping from his chin and I found that it came from his right temple. I wiped away the trail of blood, but I couldn't get to his wound. He had cupped his hand over it to prevent my wet rag.
"Move your hand, Lu Han," I ordered. He didn't react, but when I tried to move it for him, he pushed his hand strongly against it. "Lu Han..."
"Yuh-dongsaeng, please don't..." he whimpered. I removed his hand and paused to talk before I touched the gash.
"Shhh, Lulu," I cooed. I gently dabbed around his bloody wound that honestly looked painful as hell and probably needed stitches. I felt so bad for him when I saw a few tears roll down his cheeks.
"It hurts..." he choked out.
"Shhh, Han. Look, you're doing great. You're so brave and strong," I said sweetly. This seemed to help a little. I turned to Chanyeol. "Hey, can you call Yuri? My phone is on the table. Tell her to come over here," I ordered. He went into the living room, picked up my phone, and started tapping on buttons.
"Why do we need Yuri?" Kai asked. I frowned because I didn't want to say that Lu Han was in need of stitches.
"She knows how to give stitches," I said quietly. My words seemed to break Lu Han from the inside.
"What?" the boy's voice went high and it crackled. He stared into my eyes with betrayal and pain.
"You'll be okay. I wouldn't ask her unless I really needed to," now my voice was starting to crack. If I didn't look away soon, we would both be crying. I was such a wimp when it came to boys crying; it only took me a few seconds to cry along with them.
About five minutes later, Yuri was stitching up Lu Han's gash. He groaned several times, saying words in begging Chinese. "Lu Han, you need to relax. I'm almost done, okay?" she said, carefully tying a knot in the last medical string. "There. You're done," Yuri finished with a smile. The boy stopped whining and looked up at her, so she wiped away his tears.
"Umm, thank you, Noona..." he said awkwardly. Yuri giggled and went over to Kai.
"You call me sometime, okay?" she said. Kai smiled and nodded.
"Okay, Unnie, that's enough. Bye," I said, pushing her out the door. I was happy when it was all over. Yuri was gone and Lu Han had stopped crying. Of course, he was still sitting on the table with torn clothing and bruised skin. His nose had stopped bleeding and his eye was better, so he looked somewhat better. "Chanyeol, go get him some different clothes," I commanded. Chanyeol sighed, but I heard Lu Han giggle.
"Lu Han, go upstairs and get yourself some clothes," he said. Lu Han pouted cutely.
"Can you do it for me?"
"No! You do it! You've gone through my clothes enough to know where they are!" Chanyeol countered.
"But I'm in paaaiinnn," the other groaned with a smile on his face. Kai sighed.
"I'll do it, hyungs..." he said as he dragged himself upstairs. He came back down with a clump of folded clothes in his arms. "Here, put that on."
Lu Han started taking off his shirt, but he stopped and pulled it back down when he saw me. "Nicole, why are you...?" he didn't finish his sentence.
"Why am I what? What am I doing wrong?" I asked innocently. He smiled at me slyly and shook his head. "What?"
"Nicole-sshi, why are staring at me?" he asked suspiciously. I blushed.
"Are you waiting to Lu Han's six pack?" Chanyeol whispered in my ear. I smiled and flicked my wrist against him, so he chuckled. I covered my face and shook my head.
"I- no! Stop it, Channie! I just- why would you think that?!" I stammered. Chanyeol was right, though. Lu Han might've looked better without a shirt.... GAAAH! NO! WHY?! Now I could hear Kai laughing at me.
"Now I don't want to take it off," Lu Han stated, grinning and hugging himself to cover himself. I took my hands off my face.
"Oh my god, just take it off. I'll cover my eyes," I offered. He shook his head and slipped his shirt off, revealing his six pack.
"Is this what you wanted?" he said, flexing his abs for me. I covered my face again and laughed, slumping down to the floor.
"No, stop! You guys are so weird!" I yelled out between laughs. Lu Han put the next shirt on and laughed at me. Chanyeol pulled me up, giggling also.
"Okay, go sit on the couch. Lu Han isn't going to take his pants off for you," Kai said. Both Lu Han and I spilled into laughter, falling onto the ground. I crawled over to the couch, still trying to contain my laughter.
Lu Han came over after he put the pants on and sat next to me on the couch. "You have so many bruises. Can you tell me what happened?" I asked cutely, curling up and laying my head on his chest. His breath sped up a little when I asked him.
"I really don't want to talk about it, yuh-dongsaeng," he said. I didn't want to startle him and ask again, so I didn't.
"Okay," I responded softly. It was strange how we were just laughing and now the mood had turned quiet.
"What's wrong with you two? Why are you so sad?" Kai asked behind us. I looked back at him and smiled.
"Kai, sit here on the couch with me. And get Chanyeol. We're going to finish the movie," I said. He called Chanyeol in and sat on the couch.
Chanyeol went into the kitchen and grabbed two beers. He gave one to me and drank the other. I didn't like the idea of Chanyeol being drunk, but I drank, too.
By the time the movie had ended, all of us had at least two beers. Kai had had two, Lu Han and Chanyeol had three, and I had six...
No one left Chanyeol's apartment that night.
