Drabble 26: Uptown Downtown

"Luhan?"

"What?"

"You need a new boyfriend," Yi Luan said thoughtfully as she poked at the leaf of lettuce on her plate.

"Why?"

"You've been moping, and it's already been three days. You know that he’s already over it.”

Luhan snorted. Yi Luan was probably right; Sehun was a total airhead. “Whatever.”

“Let me set you up with someone. I promise it won’t be as bad as last time!”

“No. If you recall, you were the one who set me up with Sehun. And the one before him, and the one before him, and…now that I think about it, the last five boyfriends I’ve had were all introduced to me by you!”

Yi Luan pouted. “They were all mistakes. I promise that the next one will be perfect.”

“No.” Luhan sighed and gazed around the shop, his eye falling on the small line in front of the register. His eyes widened slightly when he caught a glimpse of vibrant red hair and snow white skin, and he leaned forward on his elbows, totally ignoring Yi Luan’s incessant pleading.

At last, the young man came into view, and Luhan let out a gasp. The man was beautiful with soft-looking red hair, delicate looking features, and the most beautiful eyes. Luhan looked past his face and blinked in surprise when he saw that the man was wearing dirty sneakers, a mud-splashed rain-jacket and plain, common-brand jeans.

This man wasn’t high-class, wearing the latest fashion trends, the most expensive accessories, or flaunting off his carefully painted-on make-up. Instead, he looked absolutely ordinary, and the slightest bit poor.

Luhan grinned and got up from his seat, ignoring Yi Luan’s shriek of fury at his departure, and grabbed the man’s arm just as he was about to leave the shop.

Luhan flashed him a brilliant smile, and felt his eyes crinkle smugly when he saw a blush bloom on the man’s pale cheeks. “Hi, I’m Luhan. Would you like to go out on a date with me?”

“Excuse me?” the man yanked his arm out of Luhan’s grasp. “Go bother someone else, rich kid.”

Luhan cackled with glee and raced to follow the red-haired man as he practically ran down the street, knocking into people passing by.

In the very least, he was in for a fun day, depending on how long the beautiful stranger could spend running away from him.
