Holding onto his favorite teddy bear, little three year old Myungsoo practically bounced as he walked besides his mom.

"Do you like your teddy bear that much?" her mom said with an affectionate laugh.

"Eung! He's my new best friend!" Myungsoo proudly declared.

Mrs. Kim gently ruffled Myungsoo's hair. "Alright. Make sure you don't lose him!"

"I won't!" the kid promised.

Out of happiness, Myungsoo jumped around and soon was way ahead of his mom, who was trying hard to keep in pace with her enthusiastic kid. The big smile wouldn't leave his face, and the teddy bear did not leave his arms. He was taking a nice walk with his mom after she picked him up from pre-school. He was in a great mood.

Suddenly, a scene made him stop walking and freeze. That gave his mom a chance to catch up to him, and she turned to see what he was looking at. It was a baby.

An infant that was not able to walk yet. She was wrapped in a black blanket with a letter attached to her. But that was not what had stopped Myungsoo from walking.

The baby was crying.

Myungsoo, being an only child, had not yet experienced what pain felt like. He had supportive parents that cared for him and spoiled him with whatever he wanted. So seeing this baby cry, looking so lost, he did not know what to do. So he just stared.

Noticing that the baby was alone, Mrs. Kim took a step closer and carefully picked up the letter in the envelope that was near the baby.

I can't take care of her.

Her dad left, and I can't support my own self.

Please, anyone, save my daughter.

Tell her I love her.

Feeling so bad for the hopeless baby, Mrs. Kim made a silent promise to the mother of the baby. I'll take care of her, don't worry. She found a few papers folded up in the envelope. There was her birth certificate and forms for adopting a baby. Mrs. Kim quickly scanned the birth certificate to find out more about the poor baby.

Mrs. Kim's eyebrows met in the middle as she looked at the certificate with confusion. The baby had no name. The baby's mother's or father's name were not written anywhere, and number or address was written down. She then looked at the baby girl with sympathy. She placed the letter in her purse and gently picked up the baby. The baby cradled up to her as Mrs. Kim gave the baby soothing pats on the back as if to say I'm here. You have me. Don't cry.

Slowly, the cries of the baby had come to a stop. Finally, Myungsoo had the courage to go up to the little baby.

"Does she have a name, Mom? Why is she alone?" little Myungsoo asked.

"We'll be her family from now on. Would you like that, Myungsoo ah?" she asked.

"Does that mean I'll have a younger sister?" The little boy's face brightened up at the thought.

His mom nodded. "You will. Now this girl doesn't have a name. Do you have a pretty name in mind?" she asked with a smile.

The three year old said the first name that came to his head. "Is Chaekyung a girl name?"

She nodded in reply. "Where'd you hear that name?"

"On TV!" Myungsoo said with a smile.

Mrs. Kim chuckled. "Alright. This is now your younger sister, Kim Chaekyung. Now let's go adopt her." She stood up and waited for Myungsoo to follow her.

As the two walked, one carrying another life with them in their arms, Myungsoo kept looking into the baby's eyes and trying to get her to like him. The baby's large eyes stared back at him with curiosity.

Smiling, Myungsoo handed her his favorite teddy bear. "This is yours. I'll be the best Oppa that I can be!"

Interested in the strange new object in her arms, she began to play with it. Seeing that his new younger sister was enjoying his teddy bear, a warm feeling came in his heart. He didn't mind one bit that it wasn't his anymore. Her soft smiles made up for it all.

And that day, the little baby girl had earned a loving family of three.

As the two grew up together, Myungsoo found himself caring for her extremely well. Whenever she wanted something, he would get it for her. It was enough that their family was decently rich enough to spoil them both, but he continued to spoil her even more. He would always watch out for her and help her with everything. He would make sure she wasn't in danger of getting hurt. In short, he loved his sister.

But as he entered the stages of puberty, his view on her slightly changed. Already aware of the fact that the two were not related by blood but only by name, he found himself looking at her in a different light. He saw her as a girl more than a sister.

Over the years, no one had noticed that these two were siblings. They did not look anything alike, obviously, because they shared no blood. Myungsoo, being the more quiet type at school, didn't tell anyone who had not asked. And Chaekyung, not wanting to upset her brother (who wouldn't have been upset anyways), kept quiet herself.

However, even at school, Myungsoo would secretly watch out for her. He would confront those mean girls who would bully her, and he would often check in on how she was doing academically by looking at the grade rankings that were posted near the office. When new grades were posted, he would smile proudly when her name was listed in the top ten for her grade. He wouldn't even check for his name in his grade, but he didn't have to because he was always first.

This went on for a couple years, and soon, Myungsoo was a senior, while she was a first year at their high school. Myungsoo was secretly thankful that he got to spend his last year at high school with his sister, even if they never talked much because she was only in 10th grade.

It was another day a
