Chapter 9: Hiding

Hyoni’s POV

I’m so happy today because of the necklace that Eunhyuk bought for me yesterday. Maybe I couldn’t receive his love but at least I have something that is really meaningful for me.

I smiled widely as I walked towards my class. I came early today. Suddenly, I heard Eunhyuk’s voice. I stopped and tried to hide myself at the back of the door. I listened to them carefully. 

“Hara, I would like to give you something. I hope you like it,”  he said.

“What is it?” Hara asked back.

“Surprise,” he said while taking out a red box from his pocket. He opened the box and showed to her.

“This ring is a symbol of our love. I hope you don’t lose it. Promise me,” he said it while putting the ring on Hara’s middle finger. She looked very surprised but also happy to accept it. They hugged to each other. My heart was getting hurt again.

I SHOULD NOT SEE THIS AT FIRST. I feel guilty.

As I touched my chest, I could feel the necklace I wear.

I should not wear this necklace. I hid the necklace inside my uniform. At first I want to show it to Eunhyuk but it was better not to so. I don’t want Hara misunderstood with me. I pretended that I've just arrived. As I walked into the class, they released their hug and looked at me.

“Good morning everyone,” I greeted them happily.

“Good morning Hyoni,” Eunhyuk replied.

The school bell started ringing loudly. My class started getting full with students. As my first lesson had started, I cannot focus on what my teacher was teaching in front.

Furthermore, I hate this subject, MATHEMATICS.

My mind still played the situation this morning.

AISH!!! I should forget about it.

I shook my head. Suddenly, someone touched my shoulder. I woke up from my dreaming. I saw Mr Han was looking at me angrily.

Oh, that eyes are really scared me.

I couldn’t look at him back. I looked down to the floor.

“Please don’t dreaming in my class,” he said. Everyone was looking at me including Eunhyuk. I felt so embarrassed.

“I am sorry Sir. I promise I won’t do it again,” I apologised and tried to ask his sympathy.

“Your apologise is accepted but you'll still get a detention after school today,” he ordered me.

“What?” I replied. Eunhyuk just was looking at me with a pitiful look.

I don’t mind at all because I’ve experienced it before but TOGETHER WITH EUNHYUK.

I looked at Eunhyuk to help me but he did nothing and Mr Han continued his teaching. I felt disappointed to him.

Am I nothing to him anymore?

After school, I’ve been punished to clean teacher’s toilet.

The toilet is too big for me to clean by myself.

But I just did it until finished. My uniform was already wet. I went home when the day was getting dark.

Today is really my worst day.

As I just entered my house, my parents scolded me because I went home late.

Just be patient, Hyoni. You’re a strong girl. REMEMBER THAT.

Eunhyuk’s POV

I know Hyoni is looking at me to ask my help but I couldn’t help her this time. I have date with Hara after school. Before this, if each one of us make mistake in class, we’ll get detention together but not today. I’m sorry Hyoni.
