A Rich Man's World II

My Servant, My Lover

Previously: Both of our dear boys are in shock as they reveal their ages to each other.

"W...We're here..." KyuHyun stated awkwardly. He has yet to recover from the initial shock of having a servant whose older than him.

How should I treat him now? I have to respect him... But in terms of work...gahh. I don't even why I went ahead and bought him. I don't want, nor need a servant. However, I also do not want him to end up in dirty hands...What to do, what to do...

Thoughts zoomed past KyuHyun's mind while he was driving. When he finally parked his car, he thought he would have recovered fully, but it seems like he was wrong.

Meanwhile, SungMin seemed to have replaced all his worries with excitement. He glued his face to the window to look at the enormous underground parking lot. He has never been to a parking lot this big, moreover an underground one. He wanted to get out of the car as soon as it stopped, but he didn't dare to since he doesn't have KyuHyun's official permission yet. Yup, he is just meticulous like that. Slowly, he tore himself off of the glass and turned to look at his master who was fidgeting with the steering wheel nervously.

When KyuHyun finally sensed SungMin's stare, he turned his head and gulped when he saw a pair of large sparkling eyes. Seriously, how can this...this...this man (?) be older than me?! I wonder if it has something to do with me living in this polluted city and him living in the countryside. Before KyuHyun could continue his thoughts, SungMin spoke softly. "Master KyuHyun, um, are we gettin' off?"

SungMin's sentence that went by too fast made KyuHyun laugh. Immediately, his worries from before vanished and all he remembered was the correct way to nod. SungMin beamed at KyuHyun and jumped out of the car. He had already spazzed about the luxurious black Audi when they left the condominium almost an hour ago.

SungMin said he was shocked he actually breathed the air in such a 'high-class building (according to SungMin)' and a chuckling KyuHyun had to drag SungMin's half-alive body into his car, where he came back to life and started fanboying about the car instead.

"OOF!" SungMin gasped, feeling the air inside his lungs being squeezed out. KyuHyun, who was getting out of the car, turned back and uncharacteristically chortled when he saw how the seatbelt was restraining SungMin from getting out. He unbuckled the seatbelt and SungMin took a deep breath while thanking KyuHyun for 'saving his life'. KyuHyun couldn't stop laughing, so he swiftly got out and focused on what to buy in the mall to keep his sudden burst of happiness at bay.

"SungMin, stop staring at the pipes. Come on, we need to buy you some new clothes," KyuHyun smiled and held SungMin's wrist as he dragged the older man towards the entrance of the mall. "We need to get some more daily necessities and a few pairs of boxers for you too...winter is going to arrive in no time...it's already chilly now...I should buy you some coats and long sleeved shirts. What else...hats? Oh, and shoes. How about a watch? And a wallet so you can keep some money with you...then..." SungMin stared at the people passing by him as KyuHyun continued to mumble. Everyone walking through the entrance were wearing long coats and using branded items. SungMin felt as if he just walked into a movie set featuring the lives of rich people.

"We're going to start with daily necessities, which means we're going to shop in that store over there," KyuHyun informed SungMin, who nodded. Still holding the petite man's wrists, KyuHyun walked into a brightly-lit shop with workers bowing and greeting customers as they entered and exited the store. When the lady standing at the entrance gave a slight bow to SungMin, he returned with a 90 degree bow himself. KyuHyun chuckled at the confused face the lady made and continued to drag SungMin into the store.

"Alright. Pick a toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, whatever that you think you'll need. I'll be looking around for my own stuff as well." KyuHyun said as they stopped in the toiletries section. SungMin nodded and stared at the unending rows of bathroom supplies. He found a pink toothbrush that claimed to be automatic and searched for the price tag. He gave up when he realized that there aren't any price tags to be seen in the whole store at all. 'What a bad system they practice here.' SungMin scowled to himself. A few seconds of staring at the pretty tubes of toothpastes later, KyuHyun came back to his side and asked, "Did you get what you wanted?"

SungMin looked at KyuHyun and complained that he couldn't check the price of the toothbrush he chose. KyuHyun chuckled and took the fancy toothbrush from SungMin's grasps and dumped it in the basket he placed on the polished floor. "It's usual for these things to not have price tags...I mean, who looks at them anyway? Close your mouth, SungMin. Anyways, let's quickly choose the things you need. Then off we go to buy some clothes~" KyuHyun chirped, feeling excited. SungMin, after hearing KyuHyun's 'command', quickly took a tube of toothpaste that 'could make your teeth paper white in 12 hours', a pink comb that 'makes your hair straighter', a set of fluffy towels, a packet of disposable shavers and a can of shaving cream while KyuHyun picked a shampoo and body wash set for his cute little servant.

"But I don't think I have enough money to pay for all of this, master KyuHyun..." SungMin looked at KyuHyun with a concerned expression. KyuHyun patted SungMin's head, replying fondly: "It's fine...you're m-mine, so I'll be responsible for everything you need!" KyuHyun patted his chest a bit too hard and coughed, giving SungMin a hard time controlling his laughter. "And, since we're in public, don't call me 'master KyuHyun'. Just KyuHyun would do. What if someone looks at me weirdly?" KyuHyun whispered in SungMin's ears half-jokingly. However, SungMin received the sentence like a strict soldier and saluted with a serious look plastered on his face. "Understood, mas---KyuHyun-ssi!"

KyuHyun flashed a full-toothed smile at SungMin and clapped his hands loudly. A worker ran to the two and carried the basket of items. KyuHyun carelessly threw a card into the basket before the worker dashed to the counter. KyuHyun leisurely strolled behind him. SungMin followed suit, staring at the panting worker curiously. "Ma---KyuHyun-ssi, if I clap my hands, do the workers come running to me instantly?" KyuHyun cooed at the cute question and nodded, feeling proud that SungMin was turning to him for answers. "They don't do that at the supermarket I worked at before though..." SungMin commented absent-mindedly. KyuHyun looked at SungMin, bewildered. "They don't?" After seeing SungMin shake his head vigorously, KyuHyun hummed to himself, starting to get more and more curious about SungMin's life.

"I'll come and pick up the items later," KyuHyun informed the cashier, who nodded and returned KyuHyun's card. KyuHyun then walked out of the store, half-dragging the confused SungMin. "K-KyuHyun-ssi...you left the things in the store!" KyuHyun explained that he's going to come and collect them later. "B-But...those things are already paid! What if someone decides to steal them?" KyuHyun stopped in his tracks and raised an eyebrow at SungMin. "Now now...South Korea's a safe place. No one will steal things." SungMin shook his head so harshly his bangs fell over his eyes.

"There were lots of robbery and crime back in my district!" SungMin warned while looking at KyuHyun with large eyes. KyuHyun unconsciously patted SungMin's head and stopped abruptly when he realized what he was doing. "Oh, s-sorry! That became a habit...h-hyung..." KyuHyun scratched his cheek sheepishly, watching as SungMin's frown slowly overturns. "Hehehe~ Don't worry, KyuHyun-ssi~! You can just call me SungMin. And besides, you own me now, I guess, so you can do anything you want to...me..."SungMin's eyes got slightly teary as he continued to stare up at KyuHyun. KyuHyun laughed merrily and nodded. "Alright alright. No need to cry. I won't do anything you would mind, so just tell me if I make you uncomfortable, 'kay? And back to the topic, the district here is very safe, so you don't need to worry about a thing."

SungMin rubbed his eyes with his long sleeves and nodded, holding on to KyuHyun's wrist after that. KyuHyun smiled back and together, they entered an enormous shop with dark walls and stone-like floor. Again, the workers bowed to them at the entrance, and SungMin bowed back, once more startling the workers. KyuHyun snickered and had no intention to tell SungMin that it's unnecessary to be so respectful around here.

"Good afternoon, sir. Do you have an idea of what you would like to purchase today?" A female worker came towards them while KyuHyun checked his watch in surprise, realizing that it was already 12 p.m. "Um, oh, right. Do you think you have any clothes his size?" KyuHyun asked as he pulled SungMin to stand in front of him. The worker pulled out a small measuring tape from her pocket and started to measure SungMin. "Please spread your arms, sir." SungMin obliged while looking up at KyuHyun nervously. KyuHyun flashed a reassuring smile and continued to stare as the worker measured every curve of SungMin's body.

"Alright. Please follow me, sirs." The two men followed the worker to the middle of the shop. "Your size would be found in this whole section here. We can adjust your clothes if you find them to be ill-fitting. Would you like formal wear, casual shirts, sports apparels or pants?" SungMin felt dizzy hearing the worker's question. He didn't know what he wanted at all. He sighed in relief when he heard KyuHyun answering for him. "We'll just be looking around." The worker nodded and excused herself politely. SungMin didn't manage to thank her as she scurried away to attend to another customer. "Min, what do you think about this shirt?" KyuHyun pulled out a blue polo shirt from the long crowded rack. SungMin looked at the shirt, unsure. "Hm...what's your favourite colour, SungMin?" KyuHyun asked, even though he already had a slight idea. "Pink..."SungMin replied in a small voice. KyuHyun grinned and began to throw a bunch of pink clothing at SungMin. "Alright. Pink goes with white...blue too. Hey, how 'bout this black shirt? Oh, and jeans---" KyuHyun continued to pile clothes onto SungMin's arms and at last, his arms gave out and he fell onto the floor, the pile of clothes covering him completely.

KyuHyun turned to the source of the loud sound and stared at the pile of clothes on the floor. He shooed away the workers that came buzzing towards him and dug SungMin's body out from under the clothes. He laughed at SungMin's disheveled look and apologized. SungMin couldn't help but smile when KyuHyun's melodious laugh rang in his ears. "Now go try on everything I chose for you."

SungMin's smile froze and his eyes almost popped out. "E-Eh? All of these?" KyuHyun nodded and placed SungMin back on the floor. He took two shirts and two pairs of jeans and shoved it onto SungMin. "Now then. Four is the maximum amount of clothes you can try at once. So chop chop---we still have to get lunch!" SungMin pursed his lips into a thin line and meekly went into one of the changing rooms.

Moments later, SungMin dashed out of the changing room and bumped into KyuHyun who was looking through the basket of clothes he picked earlier. KyuHyun caught SungMin and joked: "I said to be quick, but at this speed, people would think that you planned to steal these clothes! Here, let me look at you...Oh, you look gorgeous! Okay, we're taking this set!" KyuHyun smiled, feeling satisfied as he pushed SungMin back into the changing room. After ten rounds of looking at the different kinds of clothes SungMin tried, KyuHyun put his head in his hands and groaned. SungMin ran to his side, feeling worried. He has yet to change back to the clothes he wore this morning. As of this moment, SungMin was wearing a short-sleeved collared shirt---cream in color, covered by a pink vest. He wore a blue tie around his neck and blue jeans that reached an inch above the heel of SungMin's pink worn out sneakers.

"KyuHyun-ssi, are you okay?" KyuHyun's head shot up and he met SungMin's concerned gaze with a glare. "How can you ask me that while you...are...LOOKING SO DAMN EFFING CUTE?!" KyuHyun squealed like the man he was and hugged SungMin like there was no tomorrow. SungMin wheezed and squirmed out of KyuHyun's iron grip. KyuHyun smiled to himself as he stared at the ten sets of clothing laid out on the couch. He nodded silently and clapped his hands. Like before, a worker came to his aid. "I'll take all the clothes here, including the set he's wearing now." The worker was about to pick up the clothes when SungMin stopped him. "No no no, this is a grave mistake. We're not buying all of these---"

"It's okay, I'm the one paying, so just take all of them to the counter. I'll pick them up later."

"No, wait! I haven't changed back to my original clothes yet!"

"Hey, you heard him. Cut the tags off of those clothes. How do you expect him to wear clothes like that?" The conflicted worker pulled out a pair of foldable scissors out of nowhere and started snipping off the tags from SungMin's body, whose shoulders have slumped.

When the worker was finally done, KyuHyun threw a black card to him. Getting the hint, the worker worked quickly and soon, the amount for the clothing was presented on the screen of the cash register.

SungMin gaped at the number of zeroes and stared at KyuHyun, dumbfounded. KyuHyun ignored him and took back his card. "Come on~~~What do you want to eat for lunch today?" KyuHyun sang. SungMin kept quiet as he continued to let himself be dragged along his master's sudden whims. "Since you're not answering, we'll go for some Chinese food then~" SungMin pouted and followed KyuHyun to the escalator. They went up another floor and SungMin finally asked: "Where's the food court?" KyuHyun appeared confused and told SungMin that 'food courts' do not exist. SungMin was about to start a round of serious debating when the view of unending rows of posh-looking restaurants came into his sight. SungMin gasped and his body went numb as KyuHyun tugged his whole body into a large restaurant with a temple-like entrance.

Inside, the restaurant was covered by walls of red and gold, and jade statues (SungMin suspected they were real) lined along the walls. The red carpet floor was firm and the tables were all round and covered by white silk tablecloths. SungMin couldn't help but to fiddle with the tablecloth when they were seated at a small table at a corner. KyuHyun ordered the food for the both of them since SungMin couldn't recognize half of what the menu presented.

While waiting, KyuHyun decided to strike a conversation to reduce the silence between them. "SungMin, stop playing with the tablecloth." SungMin swiftly placed his hands on his lap and stared at his master's face. "KyuHyun-ssi, I can understand if you decide to pay for my daily necessities, but I don't need so many clothes! And besides, they cost more than I could've ever imagined! I really, really can't pay back for those clothes!" KyuHyun rested his cheek on one of his palms and smirked. "Don't worry. You're still quite young. You can pay me back next time." SungMin sighed in a stressed fashion. "I can't earn that much money, even if I work for my whole life! I mean, look! This is the largest amount of money that I have in my possession now!" SungMin took out his old, brown wallet that he found on the sidewalk a decade ago and fished out ten thousand won. He bit his lower lip as he gave all of his money to KyuHyun.

On the other hand, KyuHyun simply took the money and stared at it in mild interest. "I didn't know you already own a wallet. Show me." SungMin reluctantly handed over his wallet. When KyuHyun inspected the wallet, SungMin looked down, embarrassed of his dirty wallet. "Is this wallet important to you?" SungMin shook his head, still unable to look up. "Hmm...then throw it away. I'll buy you a new one." SungMin's head shot up and he became flustered. But before he could start complaining, the food arrived and SungMin was forced to eat. After the meal, KyuHyun made sure SungMin didn't have enough time to whine by bolting towards another escalator. They went up to the first floor, since they have already shopped in the basement and ground floor. Immediately they entered a small shop specializing in branded wallets.

KyuHyun literally forced SungMin to pick one. Surprisingly, SungMin chose a shiny black wallet instead of something more...childish. "How much does this cost?" SungMin asked the cashier. Before the cashier could reply, KyuHyun passed his debit card to the cashier. About two hundred thousand won was deducted from the debit card and SungMin whined on their way out.

"KyuHyun-ssi~~~! There is no way I could pay for all that!" KyuHyun hummed, not paying attention as he fished out his phone. Sensing that KyuHyun was about to call someone, SungMin fell silent as they continued walking. "Hello? Yes. Yes. I need to make a credit and a debit card. Oh, and I want to withdraw a bit of money. Alright, no problem. We're heading there now, so make it fast. Thanks."

Soon enough, the duo reached a small bank sub-branch. SungMin followed KyuHyun to a spacious room separated from the main waiting room by a glass door. The security guards let them pass without a word. SungMin felt nervous and self-conscious all of a sudden from the stares of the customers sitting in the waiting room.

"Good afternoon, Mr. Cho." KyuHyun nodded to the worker who came to them a second after they stepped into the room. "Please have a seat. I have already prepared the forms you need to fill in for the cards." KyuHyun led SungMin to the sofas situated in the middle of the room and they sat down in separate sofas. The worker continued to discuss the matter with KyuHyun while SungMin fidgeted with the glossy wallet he just acquired.

His train of thought was interrupted when KyuHyun asked for the wallet he was holding. SungMin almost dropped the wallet as he passed it to KyuHyun with an outstretched arm. He stared as his master put some cards and papers into the wallet. When the wallet was passed back to SungMin, he checked the contents of the wallet and gaped when he found a credit card, a debit card and a stash of 50,000-won notes tucked safely in the wallet.

"What...?"

"It's your living expenses. Tell me when you run out of money." KyuHyun nonchalantly said as he stood up, motioning for SungMin to do the same. SungMin slowly stood up, protesting: "I can't use them..."

"Yes you can."

"I won't be able to pay back." KyuHyun looked at SungMin with yet another smirk. "Of course you can. All you have to do is work." SungMin held onto KyuHyun's wrist. "Where can I work that would pay enough for me to repay everything before I die?" SungMin had never felt so hopeless before. "Well, you can work for me~ You shall wash my clothes, cook for me and welcome me home when I come back from work everyday. If you can do that without fail, then I'll consider you debt free." KyuHyun explained calmly. SungMin looked up at KyuHyun with a determined expression. "Okay! I will!" KyuHyun patted SungMin's head and they continued to shop for underwear, shoes, winter clothing and whatever it is that KyuHyun felt like buying for his protesting servant.

When they finally reached home that night with hands full of shopping bags, no words were exchanged as both men fell onto the large bed, instantly snoring.
