______’s POV:

The next day it was raining. Not only that but Tiffany’s letter had given me the chills and I ended up cooped inside the house all morning. By noon I was still on the couch, hidden under a blanket.

“______ get up,” Jaejoong ordered as he threw the blanket off.

“No,” I replied as I snatched the blanket from him.

“It’s not like Tiffany’s Lord Voldemort and you’re the helpless Harry Potter,” Jaejoong said.

“Okay first of all, I am not a guy. Second, Harry Potter actually has magical powers to protect himself,” I stated.

“Tiffany doesn’t have any magical powers either, so there’s nothing to be afraid of. If she hits you, hit her back without hesitation. If one of her men catch you, just scream like you’re about to die. There are many ways to escape her plans,” Jaejoong explained.

“It’s different for you.”

“How?”

“I don’t know…it just is…”

Jaejoong sighed and threw the blanket off of me again. “Just get up, would you?”

“Why won’t you just run off to a club or something?” I asked, annoyed.

“Because it’s raining! Clubbing is no fun when it’s in the day AND it’s raining!” Jaejoong took my arm and pulled me up from the couch.

Fine.” I pulled myself up and stood in front of him. “What do you want to do?”

“I dunno…cards?”

10 minutes later Jaejoong and I were sprawled over the bear fur rug in the other lounge room, a bunch of blankets and pillows around us while we played a few rounds of speed and thirteen. There were a bowl of chips to my side, which was my idea. Jaejoong had dealt a new deck and was passing thirteen cards to the each of us.

“Do you have the three of spades?” he asked as I collected my cards. I quickly browsed through them and found the card.

            “Yup. Your turn.”

Jaejoong slammed down the two of hearts, the highest card in the game.

“What the , you just ended the whole game for me!” I cried, throwing my cards down in fury and anger.

“Hahahaha! I’m too smart for you!” Jaejoong said, laughing.

“This game is boring. I want to do something else,” I whined.

“Ok then,” Jaejoong said as he gathered up all of the cards, “what do you want to do?”

            “I don’t know…truth or dare? M.A.S.H?”

“Ooooo! Truth or dare sounds fun!” Jaejoong said.

            “Ok. I go first.”

            “No, me.”

            “No, ME.”

“Shut up ______, I’m going first,” Jaejoong declared.

            “Fine,” I gave in.

            “Truth or dare?” Jaejoong asked.

            “Truth.”

“Wait, let me think first…” Jaejoong put his index finger to his chin, striking a thinking pose. “Ok…be honest…whose better looking? Me or Hyun Joong?”

            “Hmmm…to be honest?”

            Jaejoong nodded.

“I know I’m going to regret this but…” I hesitated to answer and was thinking about lying. But then that would ruin my pride. “You.”

“HAHA YES!!” Jaejoong cried, pumping his fist into the air. “Of course I am, you shouldn’t even have hesitated.”

“Ok, ok! My turn! Truth or dare?” I was excited for this one.

            “Truth.”

“Name five girls you would date.”

“Lee Hyori, Son Dam Bi, Baek Ji Young, Kim Taeyeon, and Uee,” Jaejoong answered quickly.

“That was rather fast…” I commented.

“I’ve been asked this question SO many times,” Jaejoong said, looking bored.

            “No fair! Do-over!”

            “Hell no! It’s my turn!”

“Fine,” I gave in once again.

            “Truth or dare?” Jaejoong asked.

            “Um…dare,” I replied hesitantly.

Jaejoong thought of a dare for me, looking out the window as the soft pitter patter of rain pounded against the glass windows. The dark night sky made the atmosphere seem even gloomier and more anticipated. He kept quiet and all I could hear was the rain and the loud tick tocks of the grandfather clock outside the room out in the hallway. All of a sudden, Jaejoong swallowed hard, and he looked at me, his jaw clenched.

“I dare you to kiss me.”

            My eyes widened.

My heart had seemed to stop.

My brain couldn’t fully process what he had just said.

“You-You…what?” I stammered. “What do you want me to do?”

            “Kiss me.”

I looked away, not wanting to meet his eyes. “I can’t.”

“I dare you to. You have to do it,” Jaejoong said, arms crossed.

“But, really, I can’t…I-I…I told Hyun Joong that I wouldn’t…” This was half the truth but I would do anything to avoid that one kiss that I had been yearning for. What would we be after it?

“So? Is he the boss of you? I dare you to kiss me and you’re not leaving this room until you do,” Jaejoong pressed.

I closed my eyes even harder. As much as I wanted to say, “Ok, I’ll do it. I’ll kiss you.” I knew I couldn’t. Plus, I’m the girl here. Isn’t the guy supposed to make the first move? “Jaejoong, I said I can’t.”

Jaejoong stood up, clearly angry at me now. “A dare is a dare _______ and I dare you to kiss me.”

“Isn’t there something called peer pressure? Isn’t that what you’re doing to me?”

            “What? Peer pressuring my wife?”

I paused. It was the first time I actually heard him call me his wife with just the two of us. Of course there must’ve been other times, but this time, it was different. He’s commanding me to kiss him, and I’m denying it. It’s as if he’s reminding me that I’m his wife to drown me into it.

“Can’t you just give me another dare?” I reasoned.

“No.” Jaejoong’s face was dead serious now, his face showing no signs of joking or funniness.

I had to get out of this. So I did the only thing I could at the moment.

            “Look! It’s Lee Hyori!”

And Jaejoong actually fell for it as he turned around. And at that precise moment, I dodged him, and ran.

Listen to (It Has to Be You by Yesung): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FeWCb3llsVo

I ran as fast I could, to any place where he could never find me. I dashed out the front door, and into the rain, and soon I could hear Jaejoong’s footsteps, right behind mine. But as I was running, I didn’t even notice the rain, drenching me from head to toe.

“______! ______!” I heard Jaejoong cry out my name through the loud and heavy rainfall.

But that didn’t stop me from running even faster, wanting to get away from him. Why was he doing this anyway? Why did he want me to kiss him when he already has all of these girls waiting on his hand and foot? Could it be…that he feels the same way I feel?

I shook my head at the insane idea. No way Jaejoong could’ve fallen in love with me. Doesn’t he think that I’m the ugliest person in the world? The person who spilled grape juice and soda all over his Armani suits?

The rain was getting even thicker and harder now, and I couldn’t even see where I was running to. But I did know that Jaejoong was still behind me, calling out my name, telling me to stop.

Soon, I ran out of breath, and just had to stop. I couldn’t run any further; if I did then I would’ve collapsed right then and there.

I heard the footsteps beside me stop as well, and I turned around, to face Jaejoong. He was drenched as well, but I couldn’t help but think that him standing there, wet and angry… just looked so…HOT.

It wasn’t until I actually looked around my surroundings that I realized that we were at the park. The park.

Jaejoong walked up to me, closing the space between us. “Do you hate me that much?” he asked. “Is that why you don’t want to kiss me?”

“You don’t care about me. You hate me, remember?” I said this without thinking.

Jaejoong looked at me and his facial expression looked hurt, disappointed, pained.

“You think I don’t care about you?” Jaejoong asked, clearly angry.

I realized the power of my words and I didn’t know what to say next. This was a yes or no question, no in between answers.

            “W-Well…you-

“Do you really think that I’m that bad? C’mon _______. After all we’ve been through. Tiffany trying to poison you, trying to drown you, kidnapping us, wanting to kill us. She almost beat you up to death. I was there with you, through every step of the way, through everything that she has done to you.” Jaejoong raised his voice, “I stopped her from trying to kill you. And here you are, still thinking that I don’t give a about you? Of course if it was me, I would’ve went right up there to Hyun Joong and pushed him down a cliff when I saw you get into his car. But I didn’t. And do you know why?” Jaejoong took a step closer towards me closing the space between us even more. “Because I ing care about you, ok? I care about your happiness and who you wish to be with. Even though this marriage isn’t going to end anytime soon, I don’t want you to be miserable. But you are miserable when you’re with me right?”

When I didn’t respond to his question, Jaejoong asked it again, his tone even louder. “Right?”

I looked up at him, my heart racing as I was. Here he was, saying how much he cared about me, confirming it for that matter. And I’ve been standing in the dark, thinking that he didn’t even give a about me. I wasn’t even miserable when I was with him. I wanted to tell him that whenever he’s by my side I feel safe, secure, and most of all, happy. The “dates” with Hyun Joong were nice and all, without anything chaotic, but it was just so boring. And I was tortured throughout it, thinking what Jaejoong would’ve been doing at the moment.

“And if you’re not going to kiss me…” Jaejoong took one final step closer. “Then I’ll kiss you.”

But before I could even process what he had just declared, Jaejoong’s lips were already pressed on top of mine.

            He was kissing me.

At first, I couldn’t believe it. I even closed my eyes and reopened them to see if this was a dream or not. But it wasn’t a dream, it was reality. But even more then that, I swore that as soon his  lips pressed down on mine, I had felt a million fireworks go off in side of me, sending my entire body on fire. Jaejoong’s hand slid down from my cheek, to my neck, to my shoulder, down my arm, and onto my waist, pulling me even closer to him then I was before. I kissed him back, wanting to enjoy this moment while it lasted. It was so different from the forced kiss during the wedding. I haven’t even realized my feelings for him then. But now, as he kissed me in the rain, I soaked in his everything. Deep inside, I was still rather confused, but I do know that things have changed between that last kiss and now. Now I actually felt something, something enlightening, and I wanted to keep that feeling with me forever.

Just when I had everything figured out, I suddenly heard a scream. Jaejoong broke away from me, and we looked to see who it was.

Tiffany. She was standing there, a few feet away from us, with a pink umbrella in her hand. She looked mad, furious, and right then I felt Jaejoong taking a hold of my hand, as if to assure me to not be afraid and everything was going to be alright.

“You little ,” Tiffany said to me. “You just never give up, don’t you?”

I was in so much shock from the kiss that I was now trembling with fear from her presence and words.

“What are you doing here Tiffany?” Jaejoong asked. He held my hand tighter, and pulled me towards him.

But instead of answering him Tiffany snapped her fingers. And before I knew it, about 10 big men came out somewhere from behind her, and headed towards us. Jaejoong jerked me forward, and we both started to run. We ran out through the back of the park and out onto the streets. But, of course, since it was raining, nobody was out, and the streets were basically bare. Running in the rain is dangerous, especially since Jaejoong and I were both barefoot from running out of the house without thinking.

            “______,” Jaejoong said.

            “What?”

“I need to tell you something,” Jaejoong said in between his breaths.

“What is it? That we need to run faster?”

“No, but this might help you run faster so we can ditch these guys.”

“Ok, then what is it?” It was getting harder to talk and run at the same time.

Jaejoong released a breath, and suddenly smiled. “Saranghae.”

And just like that, I ran faster, faster then I ever did in my entire life.
