“When can I get out?” Aira looks out the window

“We need confirmation from your parents first.” Dr.Ahn ticked some things on the paper

“How are you so sure they’re my real parents and that my name is Aira?” she asks back

He looks at her “Because I know you before the surgery, and I see the same girl right now. It just takes time for you to recover Aira.”

“Would you believe people if they tell you your name is Ahn Ji Hoon and that an old couple is your parents if you don’t remember anything?”

“If a lot of people say so.”

“Even so? Having zero things in your mind manipulates you easily.”

He smiled *She’s gotten clever.* “For someone who doesn’t remember anything, they usually believe to others word. But you’re different, at least you still have people to remind you of your past. Some people wants to remember but they couldn’t cause everyone else died with their memories.” Aira was quiet “Grateful in some ways?” he smiled to himself “I’ll go and ask your parents.”

She turns to the next page of the photo album and brushes her fingers over the photos “My parents…”

“She can go back home already.” he said towards her parents

“Are you sure?” Hyun Ju asks

“Yes.” Dr.Ahn nods “She’s been here for almost two weeks now, her health is perfectly fine and she’s ready to go.”

“But she’s still not well…”

“Darling…” Cho Sang Min held his wife’s hand

“No! Aira’s not well!”

“She’s perfectly fine Mrs.Cho.” Dr.Ahn frowns slightly

“She doesn’t remember anything! How could she be perfectly fine?” she choked on her words

“Hyun Ju! Making her sit here longer won’t bring her memories back! She needs to go home, experience her own life! Not just go through photo albums of the past!” Cho Sang Min breathed out

His wife broke out into another round of tears; they seem to never stop these past few days “She’s allowed to go.”

“I’ll fill in the leave.” he nods and left the couple

The entire drive towards the Cho’s place was quiet; none spoke and the silence wasn’t a comfortable one that they hoped. Aira looked out the window when their huge house came into view; she didn’t think she was this rich. Now everything seems more surreal than it already is.
