As the restaurant closed down for the night. You and Tao finished cleaning around. 

"Gah.. How can you do this everyday?" Tao whinned

You chuckled, "You should start working instead of-- Wait, what money do you live off of? Do you even have jobs?"

Tao shook his head, "We're rich!"

You shoved him playfully, "Stop joking around!"

When you noticed that Tao's expression didn't change, your jaw dropped.

"Then why do you live in a cave?" You whispered looking back to see your grandma counting the money in the cash register

Tao shrugged, "It's the only place that protects us."

"How?"

Tao picked up the bucket of dishes and headed to the back, "Well it's protected." He started and you followed behind him

"What do you mean?" You asked

"Suho hyung and Kris gege's parents made it for us. A place for us to be us and not have to worry so much about what is out there that can kill us." Tao said as he began to wash the dishes "Most of us are orphans or were completely lost on how we became who we are. Some of our parents, like mine are human."

You raised a brow, "Then--"

Tao shrugged, "I wasn't bitten or scratched or anything like that. I was just born this way."

"Are you adopted?" You asked 

Tao shook his head, "Weird right?"

You nodded. Before Tao could go on with his story he froze up sensing something was near.

"What is it?" You asked

He gripped onto your wrist, "We need to leave." He began to pull you towards the back door

"What? Why? Tao, my grandma!"

"We need to go. Kris won't forgive me if something happens to you." He said quickly

You pulled your arm back, "What? Kris why?"

A loud smash came through the front of the restaurant. You jumped in fear, "GRANDMA!" You shouted and started to head to the front.

When you got to the front, your grandma laid still on the ground. You were startled by the shadow figure standing in the windowsill and disappearing.

You rushed over, as tears filled your eyes. "Grandma.. Grandma!" You turned her over

Your eyes widened and tears began to spill out of your eyes as you saw blood seeping through her clothing.

"Grandma.." You cried

You got up and grabbed the phone calling the emergancy services and went back to her side. She took a hold of your hand, "S.. Skye.." She said weakly

"Shh.. Don't say anything.. Save your strength." You looked around "TAO! TAO WHERE ARE YOU?"

"S.. Sk.. Skye.. I.. I need to tell you something.." She said as she gasped for air

Endless tears ran down your face, "Tell me later.. When you're better!" You tried to force a smile

She shook her head, "I.. I need to.. Tell you now.." She held your hand tightly and pulled your down. Your ear came to and she said her last words.

"Your parents gave up their lives to protect you... I'm sorry, I thought this was for the better."

The grip of her hand loosened around yours. You turned to her and her eyes were shut. You couldn't hear her breathing.

You moved away from her and burried your head into your legs.

"Skye get up!" Tao pulled you up "Come on, before the police gets here."

You looked up at him blankly and tears fell. He wanted to comfort you, but he couldn't do it at that moment. He picked you up, "I'm sorry." He said and ran off with you in his arms.
