Chapter 11: Hoseok

JeongkukV

“I wonder what Jimin is doing?” Hoseok sighed to himself in the empty living room. The rest of the boys left to go practice and brainstorm for their new album, leaving Hoseok by himself at home. “Ugh, I hate being home by myself.” He complained, playing games on his phone. “Hyung,” A familiar voice called out, startling Hoseok. He looked over at the front door to see Jimin, his face lighting up. “Didn’t you say you were going to see your family?” Jimin asked, sitting on the couch next to Hoseok. Shoot, I forgot I lied to him, Hoseok thought to himself, mentally face palming. “Uh yeah, well the thing is,” Hoseok stuttered, feeling like an idiot, “Uh, I forgot that they are still out of town.” He said unconfidently. Hoseok looked at Jimin, who was convinced but shrugged it off. Jimin got up and headed towards his room, “Ok, don’t tell me the truth. I don’t care.” Jimin called back nonchalantly. Hoseok felt his face getting warmer, feeling slightly embarrassed, “I am telling the truth!” He yelled back, trying to defend himself. “Whatever you say.” Jimin said before disappearing into his room.

Hoseok slumped into the couch, putting hand over his face, “I’m so stupid.” He sighed. Hoseok just sat slumped on the couch when Jimin came back into the living room, dressed in his casual attire, putting his shoes on. “Hyung, I’m going to go practice. I’ll see you later.” Jimin said, putting his hand on the door knob. Oh no, I don’t want to be left home alone again, Hoseok quickly thought to himself, “Hey let me join you.” Hoseok blurted out, getting up to go join Jimin. Jimin gave Hoseok a look, which made Hoseok feel uncomfortable, but he shook it off, “We can practice your new dance routine.” Hoseok said nervously. Jimin let out a long sigh, “But that routine is just me and Jeongkuk.” Jimin protested. “Just pretend that I’m Jeongkuk for today.” Hoseok persisted, playfully nudging Jimin. Jimin sighed loudly, “Ok fine. Just meet me outside.” He said. Hoseok squealed, “Ok, I won’t take too long!” He exclaimed before rushing off to his room.

When Hoseok shut his door, he couldn’t help but leap around with joy. “I finally get to spend some alone time with Jimin~” He sang as he changed and packed his bag. Before leaving his room, he gave himself a pep talk in the mirror, “Ok Hoseok, today is the day. Today is the day where you get closer to Jimin. Good luck. Fighting.” He said to himself before joining Jimin. “Ready to go?” Jimin asked with a smirk, causing Hoseok’s heart to flutter. He nodded, a huge smile on his face. “Alright, let’s go then.” Jimin said before putting his arm around Hoseok’s shoulder, making Hoseok get butterflies in his stomach. This is really happening, He thought to himself, looking over at Jimin, admiring him.

“No, no, hyung, you’re doing it all wrong!” Jimin said for the 100th time, stopping the music. “What did I do wrong this time?” Hoseok complained while sitting down on the ground to rest. “It’s supposed to be like this.” Jimin said while showing Hoseok for the 100th time how the dance went. Hoseok sighed and laid down on the ground, “This is too hard. I don’t know how Jeongkuk does it.” Hoseok said while wiping the sweat off of his forehead. “That’s why it’s just me and Jeongkuk.” Jimin said while sitting next to his hyung. Hoseok smiled up at Jimin, watching him from the ground. He couldn’t help but admire Jimin, his skin glistening with sweat. Jimin looked down at his hyung and smirked, “Ok,” Jimin said while getting up, “Let’s start from the beginning.” Hoseok put out his arms, indicating for Jimin to help him up. Jimin gave his hyung a look and shook his head. Hoseok pouted, “Jiminnie ah~” He sang with his aegyo. Jimin chuckled, “Yes hyung~” Jimin replied with a sing song voice. This made Hoseok’s heart skip a beat, he grinned to himself, “I need help getting up~” Hoseok chirped. Jimin shook his head while smiling and came over to help Hoseok up. When their hands met, Hoseok couldn’t help but get butterflies in his stomach. Jimin helped his hyung up and they were face. Hoseok’s breath hitched at the sudden closeness, a blush was creeping on his face. Jimin smiled and patted Hoseok’s cheek, “Ok get into position.” Jimin said before leaving to turn the music back on. Hoseok froze for a while but once he heard the music start, he quickly rushed over to his position, his head hung low, trying to hide his growing blush.

“Ugh, hyung, you’re doing it wrong again!” Jimin shouted, getting frustrated with Hoseok. “What am I doing wrong?” Hoseok yelled back, getting frustrated as well. Jimin sighed loudly and stomped over to Hoseok. “It’s supposed to be like this.” Jimin said while standing behind Hoseok, putting his hands on his hyung’s hips. Hoseok’s eye went wide as a blush grew on his face. Jimin was helping Hoseok with the dance, moving his hyung’s hips side to side and moving his hyung’s legs with his feet. “Uh, I think I got it Jimin, th- thanks.” Hoseok stuttered, unable to take it anymore. He felt that if Jimin held him any longer, his heart would literally leap out of his chest. “Ok,” Jimin said before patting his hyung’s back, “I got my eyes on you.” He said, playfully eying Hoseok. Hoseok nervously smiled, looking at the ground, embarrassed. His heart was beating abnormally fast, making it harder for him to cool and relax his bright red cheeks. The music started up again and Hoseok quickly snapped to his senses, getting to his position. He couldn’t help but beam throughout the rest of practice.

“Whew, man I’m tried.” Hoseok said, laying down on the ground, fanning himself. Jimin collapsed next to Hoseok, breathing heavily. “Hyung, you’re actually not as bad as Jeongkuk.” Jimin said, giving his hyung a sly smirk. “Aishi.” Hoseok said, playfully punching Jimin’s shoulder. Jimin chuckled and sat up, “I think I’m going to go home and take a shower.” Jimin said, patting his hyung’s knee while getting up. Hoseok sighed as he watched Jimin get up and stretch, slightly pouting. He wanted to spend more time with Jimin. Hoseok watched as Jimin packed up his things when he suddenly remembered, “Hey Jimin.” Hoseok called out, sitting up. Jimin stopped and looked over at his hyung, “What?” he asked. Hoseok gave Jimin a sly smile, “Hey, remember how you promised me dinner?” He said deviously. “Aishi.” Jimin said, rubbing the back of his neck, “I thought you would have forgotten about that.” Jimin said coyly. Hoseok raised an eyebrow at him, “So you didn’t want to buy me dinner?” He asked. “No, no, no! it’s not that, hyung. Honest!” Jimin defended, “I just don’t have a lot of money after buying Jeongkuk and TaeHyung breakfast this morning.” Jimin mumbled the last part, looking down at his feet. Hoseok couldn’t help but chuckle at how cute Jimin looked when he was bashful. Hoseok got up and walked over to Jimin, putting his hand on the younger boy’s shoulder, “I’ll buy dinner then. It’ll be my treat.” Hoseok said with a warm smile. Jimin beamed, getting really giddy, “Really? Ok, thanks hyung!” Jimin exclaimed before putting his arm around Hoseok’s shoulder, making Hoseok giggle shyly as they left the practice room.

“So where should we eat Jimin?” Hoseok asked while they were strolling around. Jimin thought, “I want kimchijjigae!” He exclaimed excitedly. Hoseok smiled and nodded, “Kimchijjigae it is.” He said, linking his arm with Jimin. To his delight, Jimin linked his arm with Hoseok’s as well. This made Hoseok leap with joy inside.

Hoseok let out a breath and looked up at the night sky, admiring the stars. Jimin looked at his hyung then up at the sky, “Woah, Hyung it’s so pretty!” Jimin said, gazing up at the stars. Hoseok smiled, “Yeah, it is.” He said, still staring up at the sky. A shooting star zipped through the sky. “Hyung! It was a shooting star! Make a wish!” Jimin exclaimed before closing his eyes to make a wish. Hoseok looked down at the boy and smiled before closing his eyes to wish. “I wish for Jimin to fall in love with me.” Hoseok whispered softly to himself. He opened his eyes and looked up at the stars again. “Hyung, what’d you wish for?” Jimin asked, tugging on Hoseok’s arm. Hoseok looked at Jimin and put zip his own lips, “It’s a secret.” Hoseok chortled before continuing on to the kimchijjigae house.

“Please hyung, tell me~” Jimin begged, continuously tugging on Hoseok’s arm and poking his cheeks. Hoseok just laughed; amused at how curious the younger boy was and how much contact his was getting with him. “I can’t tell you or else it won’t come true.” Hoseok said, hoping that would get Jimin to stop begging. Jimin pouted and then sighed, “Ok, fine. Don’t tell me.” He said, folding his arms and sarcastically ignoring his hyung. Hoseok just shook his head and lead Jimin into the restaurant.

They ordered the jjigae and ate. “Woah hyung, the jjigae looks so good!” Jimin exclaimed, eager to devour the meal. “Careful Jimin, it’s hot!” Hoseok warned, seconds too late. “HOT!” Jimin screamed, fanning his mouth and chugging his water. Hoseok shook his head, laughing. He got a spoonful of jjigae and blew on it, “Here.” Hoseok said, feeding the jjigae to Jimin. “Aishi hyung, you don’t have to do that.” Jimin said blushingly before letting Hoseok feed him. Jimin chewed the food and gave Hoseok a thumb up, “It’s really good.” Jimin said before getting a spoonful. To Hoseok’s dismay, Jimin didn’t feed him like he expected, instead, Jimin kept devouring the food. Hoseok let out a small sigh before eating the jjigae in silence.

“Hey hyung,” Jimin said with a mouthful of rice. “Ew Jimin, don’t talk with your mouth full!” Hoseok nagged, giving Jimin a disgusted look. Jimin swallowed and rubbed the back of his neck, “Heh, sorry.” He replied shyly. Hoseok just rolled his eyes and smiled, “Now what were you saying?” He asked, getting another spoonful of jjigae. “Well I wanted to thank you for practicing with me today. It was fun and you dance Jeongkuk’s part better than Jeongkuk.” Jimin flattered, “I like being with you.” WHAT? Hoseok thought, nearly choking on his food. “Hyung.” Jimin chuckled, handing Hoseok a glass of water. Hoseok chugged the water, Jimin grinned, “Was it something I said?” He asked, leaning back in his chair. A blush grew on Hoseok’s face as he shook his head, “No, the food just went down the wrong pipe.” Hoseok lied, earning a “be careful” from Jimin.

After dinner, they headed home, arms linked with each other. “Thanks hyung for dinner.” Jimin said, giving his hyung a big smile. “It was nothing.” Hoseok said. Jimin yawned, “Man, I’m so tired.” He said, resting his head on Hoseok’s shoulder. Hoseok’s body went stiff as Jimin snuggled his head on Hoseok’s shoulder. A slight blush appeared on Hoseok’s face as his lips pulled into a shy smile. He cautiously rested his head on top of Jimin’s and to his luck, Jimin didn’t object. They walked in silence, Jimin’s head still on Hoseok’s shoulder, arms linked tightly with each other. Hoseok took in a deep breath before letting it out, smiling to himself. He thought back to what Jimin said at the restaurant. “I like being with you” kept chanting his head. “He likes being with me.” He said softly to himself, stretching his lips into a bigger grin.

Hoseok was stuck in his daze for a while because he hadn’t realized that they were already at their apartment complex. “Hey hyung, we’re here.” Jimin said, picking his head up from Hoseok’s shoulder, causing Hoseok to snap out of his trans. Hoseok slightly pouted at the lost contact as Jimin raced ahead of Hoseok to their apartment. When they got inside, it was dead silent, “I think everyone is already sleeping.” Hoseok whispered, stating the obvious. “We should be quiet then.” Jimin whispered as they tip toed their way inside. They both went to the bathroom and washed their faces, both too tired to take a shower. They got changed. Hoseok went to the living room and sat on the couch, flipping on the TV to a random channel. Jimin came into the living room, “Hyung aren’t you going to go to bed, it’s almost 1.” Jimin yawned while stretching. “I’m just going to watch some TV before,” Hoseok replied, “Want to join me?” He asked, a hopeful glimmer in his eyes. Jimin shook his head, “I’m too tired.” He replied. Hoseok pouted, “Ok well good night then.” He said coldly. “Good night hyung.” Jimin answered before turning back to go to bed. Hoseok sulked in the couch and stared at the TV screen, slightly upset that he was watching TV by himself.
