Chapter 24 -- Consequence
Monsters: The MousetrapHe walked into her room and saw the monster change into his old human self. Before he even stood next to her, she stood up straight. He knew that she was aware of his presence.
"You here to gloat again?" She asked him unhappily as another plan failed.
"No. I'm just here to watch the happy ending for the couple." He replied, he never wanted this for them. If she had accepted his terms, then this people wouldn't have had to suffer.
"I know what you're thinking. You're thinking I should just accept the loss now." She told him.
"No I wasn't actually. I was thinking that if it wasn't for the spell these two would have never had a chance to meet." He said, "The spell has some good points."
"But in the end, it'll be bad for one of us." She remarked, "It won't be me."
"You don't know that for sure, I have already seen that love prevails." He replied, "Do not let yourself get hurt over this."
She turned to him and gave him a confused look, "Why do you still care about my feelings and yet you don't care at the same time?"
He sighed, "I will always care about your feelings, you were my first friend and my best friend. But you are too old for me and I have never had romantic feelings for you."
"Why not?" She whined, "I've always had them for you. I've been having flashbacks to the first day we met." She muttered quietly.
He smiled, "It was raining that day. You needed an umbrella and I offered to share mine with you." He said.
"Yeah, and I have never forgotten it." She told him.
"That was a long time ago and I was being polite. You were my senior and I wasn't going to let you suffer in the rain." He said in a tone of finality that showed he was done with the conversation.
"The next one will be in my favor." She called after him as he walked away.
"We shall see." He waved goodbye as he went back to his loving fiancée.
The woman turned around and glared at the two women she had in their cages. "I can't believe you failed me, ladies."

Kikwang and Hana approached all the cells and saw that all the girls were eager to get out.
They opened the cell with Gayoon in it first, "The exit is to your left, straight up." Kikwang told them as they unlocked the gate.
"What about the chains?" They asked him, even if they wanted to leave, they were still stuck.
"I should have something for that." Hana felt around her pants pockets before she found a bobby pin. "Here we go." She said.
She approached every girl and picked the locks on their restraints and set them free. "I know some of your friends are all looking for you." She told them as they ran out. She was down to the last one and the girl didn't have a name to Hana but she looked at Kikwang.
"I know it's not your fault." She told him and she ran away.
Hana went up to Kikwang and smiled at him, she noticed his eyes tearing up and gave him a right squeeze. "I told you, the truth will always come out." She said before walking away to unlock more of the cells.
All of the girls ran off as soon as they were free, but a select few said thank you first. Hana liked those ones, instead of being impolite and just running away.
They reached the last cell and Hana saw that the first ones were in there. She knew none of their names since she had not been on the case from the beginning. But she saw that the girls were also mostly brunette.
"It made victimization easier," Kikwang explained to her. She finally undid all of the cuffs and all the girls made it around and told Kikwang thank you for not hurting them.
She looked around and noticed that she never saw Anna anywhere. She didn't undo her cuffs, nothing.
"Who are you looking for?" Kikwang asked her.
Hana sighed sadly, "My friend Anna. She was taken a long time ago, but if the others survived the age then she could have too right?" She asked optimistically but Kikwang could see her eyes were tearing up.
"I'm sorry, Hana." He said sadly, "Anna was the first one I brought to Hyosung when we moved here. She's the blood of an innocent, the blood needed to renew the spell."
"How did you even know she was a ? And what did you do with her then?" Hans demanded of him.
He sighed, "I didn't know, it's a story I will tell you later. But Hyosung threw her away like garbage. I dug her a grave on the surface." Kikwang told her, holding out his hand. "Can we go now?"
"Do you remember where you buried her?" Hana asked him, not taking his hand yet.
"Yes, I'll take you there one day." He replied and she smiled to him, squeezing his hand tightly.
"Okay, let's get out of here so you can tell me all of your stories," the two of them walking to the surface together.
