RoommatesHimchan woke abruptly, panting. He looked beside him, but Sunhee wasn’t there. Had it been a dream? It had to have been a dream, right? He got dressed and went out into the living room only to find Sunhee in the kitchen cooking. She turned around when she noticed him and smiled brightly.
“Sleep well?” She said with a wink.
Himchan’s knees almost gave out on him. Was it not a dream? It had to be a dream. “Sunhee,” He asked hesitantly, “about last night…”
Sunhee smiled at him. “It’s okay, oppa. I understand if you don’t want me to sleep in your room. I slept just fine in my own. Maybe just having you here makes me feel better.” She said, turning back to her cooking.
Himchan felt like a weight had been lifted off his chest. He’d never almost hated himself so much in his entire life. “Well, I’m glad I can make you happy.”
Sunhee looked at him again. “You make me very happy, oppa. I’m glad I have you.” She set their food on the table. “Come, let’s eat, we both have to get to work soon.”
Himchan sat down at the table. “Thanks, honey.” He said picking up his chopsticks. “I’ll make dinner.”
Sunhee gave him a thumbs-up and they ate in peace, Himchan happy that it had only been a dream and Sunhee happy to have Himchan in her life.
Himchan met with Yongguk for lunch. He told him about everything, including his dream. He had to vent to someone, and even though Yongguk could be a pain sometimes he was still his best friend, and a good one at that.
“So, what should I do?”
“Channie, just do what the girl wants you to do.” Yongguk said with a smile. “She’s a smart girl, she’ll figure it out on her own. Besides, you told her flat out you’re not gay, so she can’t be angry with you about it later.”
“She’s a woman, Bang. Women always find a way to be angry about something and then blame it on a man.”
Yongguk laughed. “That may be true, but I don’t think she will be getting angry with you, Channie.”
Himchan frowned. “What do you mean?”
Yongguk grinned. “She likes you.” He shrugged. “She doesn’t know it yet, but she does.”
Himchan shook his head. “You’re not making any sense.”
“I’m making perfect sense. I’ve seen the way she looks at you, Channie. The girl is head over heels for you. The only thing standing in her way of realizing it is the fact that she thinks you’re gay, but now that you’ve told her you aren’t, she will slowly start to realize her feelings for you.” He nudged his shoulder against Himchan’s arm. “Just wait, she’ll come running to you just like in your dream.”
Himchan groaned. “I knew I shouldn’t have told you that.”
“Yeah, you probably shouldn’t have, but I’m so glad you did.” Yongguk chuckled.
“You are going to hold this over me for the rest of my life aren’t you?” Himchan sighed.
“See, and they say you aren’t bright.”
Himchan’s eyes widened. “Who says that?”
Yongguk laughed. “Channie, you are too easy.” He said ruffling his friend’s hair.
Himchan huffed. “Jerk.” He grumbled under his breath, only making Yongguk laugh harder.
A/N: Don’t hate me for the short chapter, or the fact that the whole thing was a dream… Himchan is just too much of a gentleman to have let things go down like that. I couldn’t do that to him; he really would have hated himself…
