Jessica's POV

I quickly went to my room with Krystal after I helped Yuri with the dishes.

I sat on the bed as Krystal laid her head on my lap and I her head.

I have a job now, so what do I do?

I looked on my desk and saw the drawing Krystal made.

I smiled widely when I saw it, it was a picture of me and her, our bodies were shaped like triangles and our heads were demented circles. Our eyes were two dots and our smiles, they were curved lines. Krystals person was noticeably smaller than mine, as hers had black hair and mine had brown.

What surprised me was my person had a yellow halo over it's head.

My eyes teared up, as I was happy Krystal thought of me as an angel.

I made a mental note in my head to hang the photo up later.

Krystal had fallen asleep, I moved her head onto the pillow and kissed her forehead before tucking her into bed, I looked at the clock.

It was only 3 PM, why was she so sleepy?

Was she sick?

I put the palm of my hand on her forehead, it seemed fine.

Maybe she's just tired.

I walked over to the picture she had drew and grabbed a pin, pinning it to the wall.

I smiled at the picture and stood back to admire it.

I heard someone open the door and I turned around, wiping the smile off my face.

It was my dad. "Jessica, can I talk to you?" he said.

I looked over to Krystal who was sleeping peacefully.

I nodded and walked out of the bedroom with him.

We sat on a couch in the living room, he was sitting on one end as I was sitting on the other.

The uncomfortable silence was killing me.

"Well, are you going to talk?" I asked, annoyed.

He sighed. "Jessica I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I didn't want to cause you all that pain. I'm sorry. But I never lied to you when I said I loved you. I was young a foolish. I left your mother without thinking about you and Krystal. I was blinded by my hate for your mother I forgot about you guys. I'm sorry." he said with teary eyes.

I wanted to so desperately sob my heart out but I kept strong, what I did for 9 years, kept strong.

"'I'm sorry' doesn't give me back 9 years of my life, does it?" I said icily.

He shook his head viguriously, "No, it doesn't, but I want you as a daughter, I never thought that you weren't good enough. I thought you were the best daughter ever. I'm sorry, please accept my apology." he practically begged.

I sighed, "I accept your apology, but that's not stopping me from moving with Krystal."

He jumped off the couch and hugged me.

I gasped lightly.

An unusual feeling covered me, the feeling of being safe and protected.

My arms lay by my side as my dad hugged me around the shoulders.

I couldn't help the couple tears that fell down my face.

He pulled away from the hug, I was surprised to see his face in tears.

"I'm sorry, I'm just happy." he said, sniffing.

I nodded solemnly before walking off without wiping my tears.

I saw Yuri leaning on the wall, watching the scene.

I tried to walk past her, but tripped over her foot.

I prepared myself for the fall, but I didn't fall.

I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist and I saw Yuri catching me.

I stood up quickly. "Thanks." I said.

I was about to walk away until she grabbed my wrist, stopping me.

I turned around. "Let's go out tonight, I want to learn more about you." she said to me.

"Why?" I asked.

"Well, we are step-sisters aren't we?" she said teasingly.

I bit my lip, thinking about it.

Should I go?

I didn't want to leave Krystal

But

I didn't want to be rude to Yuri.

"I'm sorry, but I have to take care of Krystal." I said to her.

I tried to walk off but she was still gripping my wrist.

I turned to her again. "What?" I asked, annoyed.

"Who said she couldn't go?" she smiled.

I looked at her with an 'are you serious' face.

"Please?" she pouted.

OMO! Not the pouting face..

Anything but the pouting face.

I sighed, "Fine." I agreed.

She smiled widely, "Okay! I'll come to your bedroom at 5-ish." she said before walking off.
