After offiicially leaving YG Entertainment, 24 year old Empress Member Aly Kwon adopts her 11 year old daughter Kim Aehyun. The public was first introduced to Aehyun in 2009 during the YG Entertainment Annual Press Conference. 

Aehyun's identity was kept private until dispatch caught Aly with her during her rookie days. The idol expressed her strong desire to adopt Aehyun but because she was still underaged, the adoption papers didn't push. In a heart warming post on her personal instagram, Aly said that officially calling herself as Aehyun's mom still felt like a dream to her. During the finalization of her adoption papers, Aly and aehyun was seen with her long time boyfriend, iKON member Bobby. At four o'clock in the afternoon, Aehyun who has the birth name Choi Jihyo, was officially adopted by Aly. Her name was officially changed to Kim Aehyun with both Aly and Bobby listed as her new parents.
