(Jiyeon POV)

“Doctor, is she alright?”

“She’s fine. Just a cut lip, and a few bruises here and there.”

“So, she.....didn’t get.....r*ped right?”

“From what we’ve examined, no. You saved her in the nick of time, young man.”

Can they just shut up?

“That’s a relief.” He sighs. “When do you think she’ll wake up?”

“Hmm, we gave her two doses, but it should have worn off. She should actually be awake by now....”

Get the hint, people. I don’t want to face you.

“Well, I’ve got to go now. I’ll be back to check at 5.”

“Okay, thank you!”

Junhyung, why can’t you leave as well.

“Jiyeon.” He murmurs, gently gliding his fingers over my face.

No.

“You’re probably asleep, right?”

Actually, not really.

“Jiyeon, I’m really sorry I couldn’t save you earlier.”

Hey, at least you did.

“I was waiting for you outside your building, but I fell asleep and by the time I awoke, you were already gone.”

What?

“I thought you’d gone for a walk like you always do, but I couldn’t find you anywhere. And when I did....when I found you....”

 Stop.

“You were on the floor, with that....that b*stard. Jiyeon, I’m so sorry Jiyeon.”

His tears fall onto my face.

Drip.

Drip.

Drip.

I can’t take this anymore.

I roll to the other side, and immediately Junhyung stands up.

“Jiyeon?” He asks.

I hear him frantically wipe his tears.

I yawn.

Slowly, my eyes open.

“Junhyung?” I squeak.

“Jiyeon!” He embraces me. “I’m glad that you’re okay! Does it hurt anywhere?”

I’m not a baby.

“Not really.” I lie. “What are you doing here?”

“Me? I was waiting for you to wake up.” He smiles. “Oh by the way, Sunhwa and Daehyun are on their way!’

But not him, huh?

“That’s great.” 

It’s too silent.

I shift uncomfortably in the bed, and Junhyung stares at the floor.

I wonder what he’s doing.

Does he know I’m here?

Suzy’s a real lucky girl.

But it’s not like she’s lacking anything either.

Then there’s me.

Almost r*ped twice.

I’m definitely one of a kind.

It’s girls like me, that are the easiest to hate.

“Jiyeon?” Junhyung lifts my chin. “It’s okay you know. It’s not your fault.”

I want to cry.

I want to cry my eyes out.

I want to cry so much that it’ll be impossible for me to ever cry again.

But I can’t.

My eyes stay dry.

Why can’t I feel anything?

Junhyung stares at me with pity in his eyes.

That’s not pity.

It seems more like.....more like......

Attraction.

“Junhyung, where is Sekyung?” I mutter, trying to change the subject.

“Sekyung?” He gulps. “Okay....it’s pretty lame.”

I wrinkle my eyebrows.

“I found her in bed with another guy...”

“What?”

“No way!” I raise my voice.

“Okay, shut up!”

I giggle.

Junhyung stares at me with his mouth hanging wide open.

“What?”

“You just giggled!”

“No, I didn’t!” I cover my mouth.

“Yes, you did!” Junhyung screeches.

“DID NOT!” I throw the nearest object at him.

It’s a lipbalm.

“Wow, Jiyeon!” Junhyung claps his hands. “Great throw. Really. I’m extremely impressed.”

The sides of my mouth lift slightly.

“Shut up, Yong Junhyung!”

“No really, Jiyeon. You ever thought of trying for softball?” 

“ off.” I pull my hair over my face, embarrassed by my failure.

“Aw, Jiyeon!” He tugs on a strand. “Jiyeon, are you there?”

I stay still.

“Hello?” Junhyung knocks on my head. “Is there anyone here?”

I stifle a chuckle.

“Huh, I was sure Jiyeon would be here!” I can smell his fried chicken breath.

“Aheemm.....” Someone coughs.

Instantly, we lift our heads up.

Sunhwa and Daehyun are at the front of the entrance, looking at us awkwardly.

“Hiiiiiii, guysss?” Sunhwa raises her eyebrows.

“Hey.” Junhyung stands up. “I didn’t know you guys were coming.”
