"What's going on? Who is she? Is she your girl...girlfriend?" Donghae asked timidly, head hanging low.
"What?! No! She doesn't mean anything to me anymore. Just an ex-girlfriend of mine. I thought I knew her but I was wrong. She left me for another vampire who ironically dumped her and now she wants me back. But there isn't any feelings for her. Trust me, you are the only one that matters now. I wouldn't want to lose a...precious friend over a . Okay?" Hyukjae said, as he held Donghae's chin up high so that they were looking eye to eye.
Donghae blushed crimson red at the words. He averted his eyes, knowing that if he looked into Hyukjae's eyes, he would have done something unpredictable.
Just as Hyukjae opened his mouth to say something, they heard the door slam behind them and angry footsteps nearing them. Turning their head to find out what the commotion was, they saw Hyoyeon stomping towards them. Hyukjae immediately pushed Donghae behind him. Hyoyeon stopped in front of Hyukjae and crossed her arms in front of her.
"What do you want,Hyoyeon? Haven't you got anything better to do? Find another guy to be with, just not me. " Hyukjae remarked.
Hyoyeon scoffed and rolled her eyes before taking a step closer, pointing at Donghae who was being hidden behind Hyukjae.
"Who is he? Your boyfriend or... toy? Huh. Who knew you would stoop so low just to fill the void that I left? Never took you to be someone who likes guys. I pity him. You have me but you want him. Someday he'll find out you weren't worth it and leave you. What a bummer. " Hyoyeon sniggered and strolled off but not before glaring at Donghae. Donghae cringed a little.
"Don't worry. She won't do anything to you when I'm around. So just stick to me, okay?" Hyukjae advised. Hyukjae was worried for Donghae. Even though they weren't mated yet, he could already foresee what would happen if Donghae was left alone in the presence Hyoyeon. He would be 'eaten' alive. The thought of Donghae being afraid just didn't sit well with Hyukjae.
